Before You Begin
Compatible Mobile Devices for ADP Mobile Solutions
Employees must have one of the following mobile devices to use ADP Mobile Solutions
smartphone app:
AndroidTM mobile technology platform (v2.3 or higher)
BlackBerry smartphone (v4.6.1 or higher)
iPhone (3G or higher), iPad (iOS 4.0 or higher) or iPod touch (with iOS 4.x or
higher) mobile digital devices
Windows Phone (8.0 or higher)
To use the ADP Mobile Solutions Tablet app:
iPad (iOS 6.1 or higher)
Note: Compatibility for the ADP Mobile Solutions Tablet app with other tablets and
languages is planned for future releases.

Usability Considerations for ADP Mobile Solutions Manager Features


ADP Mobile Solutions manager self service features support managers with up to 100
assigned users.
For Enhanced Time & Attendance users, My Team features will not display terminated
employees on your mobile device.

Tasks for Setting Up ADP Mobile Solutions


The following tasks should be completed to set up ADP Mobile Solutions for your
company. Your ADP Workforce Now online help provides detailed instructions for
completing most of these tasks, unless specified otherwise in this section. Your client
support specialist can assist you or answer any questions you may have.
ADP Mobile Solutions for employee self service works with ADP Workforce Now so you
can provide the tools and information your employees need wherever and whenever
they want them.
Important: Changes made in ADP Workforce Now can take 4-6 hours to be seen in ADP
Mobile Solutions.

Setting Permissions
You can set permissions that allow employees to access ADP Mobile Solutions features
from their mobile devices in ADP Workforce Now. The permissions you set apply to both
the smartphone and tablet apps.
Note: ADP Mobile Solutions is automatically activated for all of your employees. If you
would like to limit access to some or all features for selected employees, you should
assign them to custom profiles groups in ADP Workforce Now. To set permissions for
Managers, see Manager Features on page 6.
For information about creating profiles and assigning users to a profile, refer to the ADP
Workforce Now online help topics Adding a Custom Profile and Adding Profile Members.
Starting Point: Setup > Security > Access Permissions > Menu Access
1 On the Profiles page, in the left side navigation area, select profile group to which the
user group is assigned, for instance, Employee.
Note: ADP Mobile Solutions Employee functionality can be assigned to user groups in any
profile group, not just the Employee profile group. Refer to the ADP Workforce Now online
help topics Adding a Custom Profile and Adding Profile Members for more information.
2 From the Profiles section, select the user group for which you want to set permissions.

4 In the ADP Mobile Solutions section, select or clear the check boxes for the features
you want employees to access on their mobile devices. Only the features that are
enabled by your company and available for mobile access will be visible on the Springboard. Features include:
Directory - Employees can view, search, and contact employees listed in the
company directory on their mobile devices.
News - Employees can view company news and events. For more information
about posting company news content, see Adding Content on the Mobile News
Page on page 11.
Inbox - Employees can view their alerts, tasks, notifications, and reminders.
Employees can also select an Inbox item to view additional details that may be
available.
Pay - Employees can access pay statements up to 26 previous pay periods, viewing
hours worked, net pay, and gross pay year-to-date. Also, employees can view their
tax statements (W-2 and 1099) for previous years for each company that uses ADP
payroll processing.
Note: Your employees will have the option to receive push notifications when their
pay statements become available. Users will be asked to opt-in on their mobile device;
there is no set up task in ADP WorkforceNow. Available for iPhone and Android users,
compatibility for other devices is planned for future releases.
Employee Time - Employees can clock in, clock out, indicate a late arrival, and
create timesheets. Employees can view and approve their timesheets, and view
exceptions. For more information on Time, see Setting Up for Time and Attendance on page 9.
Note: Late Arrival and Absence are not available when using the ADP Mobile Solutions Tablet app.
Retirement - Employees can view detailed information about their 401(k)
accounts, contribution elections and deferral percentages directly from their mobile
devices.
Calendar - Employees can view their schedule on their mobile device by list, day
or month. Employees can also select a Calendar item to view additional details that
may be available. For more information on Time, see Setting Up for Time and
Attendance on page 9.
Benefits - Employees can view their benefit plans, coverage, deductions, current
elections, and pending or future elections. Some users can enter notes on their
devices and store two photos of their benefit card. Notes and benefit card photos
are stored on their mobile devices.
FSA - Employees can view flexible spending account information including account
name, balance, and goal amount. They can view their last three payments, claims,
and contributions. Contact your ADP representative if you have any questions about
activating the FSA feature.
PayCard - If you have pay card services through ADP, the ALINE Card feature may
be automatically activated for your company. Employees can enroll and activate
their ALINE card, view balances, activity and Direct Deposit information, change
card status and find ATM locations.
Time Off - Employees may be able to view time off balances and requests, submit
or delete requests for time that has not been taken, and view time off balances as
of a specific date. If your company qualifies, the Time Off feature may be automatically activated. See Time Off on page 8 for more information.

Important: The availability of the Pay, Employee Time, Calendar, Benefits,


FSA and Time Off features depends on the features your company is using and how
your company is set up and the version of ADP Mobile Solutions which your employees
are using.
The following features are only available on the ADP Mobile Solutions Tablet app:
About Me - Employees can view and edit detailed information about their career
and qualifications such as certifications, licenses, and memberships in the Talent
Profile feature. Employees can view their Personal Info, Emergency Contacts, and
Employment Info in the Worker Profile feature.
Important: The availability of the About Me features for Worker Profiles and Talent
Profiles depends on the features your company is using.
Organizational Chart - Depending on your company setup, employees can view
detailed information about their organizational chart.
Note: You may see check boxes for features that are planned for future releases.

Manager Features
In addition to employee features, ADP Mobile Solutions allows managers to perform
activities related to their teams using the My Team feature. The features your company
is using, the version of ADP Mobile Solution your employee is using, and how your
company is set up will determine the following:
Whether Time feature is available to your company.
Whether your managers can use their mobile devices for the My Team features.
Note: ADP Mobile Solutions supports Manager Features for managers with up to 100
assigned users.
Enhanced Time & Attendance managers with more than 100 assigned may create a
specific user group which can be managed through the My Team feature by using a
personal hyperfind query. For more information about Enhanced Time & Attendance with
ADP Mobile Solutions, see Setting Up Manager Features in Enhanced Time & Attendance
on page 10

Setting Permissions for Manager Features


All Manager features are automatically activated for your company if you use ADP Time
& Attendance and ADP Mobile Solutions.
Note: If you would like to limit access to some or all features for selected managers, you
should assign them to custom profiles groups in ADP Workforce Now.
For information about creating profiles and assigning users to a profile, refer to the ADP
Workforce Now online help topics Adding a Custom Profile and Adding Profile Members.
Starting Point: Setup > Security > Access Permissions > Menu Access
1 On the Profiles page, in the left navigation area, select profile group on the left side
navigation to which the user group is assigned, for example, Manager.
Note: Manager functionality can be assigned to user groups in any profile group, not
just the Manager profile group. Refer to the ADP Workforce Now online help topics
Adding a Custom Profile and Adding Profile Members for more information.
2 From the Profiles section, select the user group for which you want to set permissions.

3 Select ADP Mobile Solutions tab.

4 Click to clear the check box for the feature you would like to limit access to for this
manager profile group.
5 Click Save.

Manager Features
Managers will have the following features available to them on their mobile devices, in
addition to the employee features:
Manager Time - Managers can edit and approve employee timecard data and view
timecard exceptions such as overtime. Availability of these features depends on your
company set up. For more information about Time features, see Setting Up for Time
and Attendance on page 9.
Manager Time Off - Managers can view employees time off balances and approve
time off requests. Depending on the features your company is using and how your
company is setup, Time Off Approvals will be done from either the Inbox or My Team
feature.
Important: Managers using the Tablet app can review, edit and approve time off
requests on their tablet.
Manager Calendar - Managers can view the schedules of employees in their team
and view additional details by selecting a Calendar item
The following features are only available on the ADP Mobile Solutions Tablet app:
About My Team - Managers can view and edit their employees Worker and Talent
Profiles.
Important: The availability of the Calendar and About Me features for Worker
Profiles and Talent Profiles depends on the features your company is using and how
your company is set up.
Reports - Managers can view detailed Organization Charts and Reports that have
been previously created.
Note: You may see check boxes for features that are planned for future releases.

Time Off
The features your company is using and how your company is set up will determine the
following:
Whether the Time Off feature is available to your company.
Whether your employees can use their mobile devices for viewing their time off
balances or managing their time off.

Time Off Activation


The Time Off feature will be activated for your company if your company is using one of
the following:
Payroll. Time off is calculated by the Payroll module.
Time Off. Time off is calculated using the Time Off service.
If Time Off is activated for your company, you will see the Time Off and Manager Time
Off permission on the ADP Mobile Solutions tab after selecting a user group profile
from the Access Permissions page (Setup > Security > Access Permissions).

Time Off Features


If the Time Off feature is activated for your company and the Time Off permission is
enabled for employees and managers, they will have the following Time Off features
available to them on their mobile devices:
If your company calculates time off balances using the Payroll module, employees
can view and manage their time off balances on their mobile devices. Managers can
view employees time off balances and approve time off requests. Time Off Approvals
will be done from the Inbox.
If your company calculates time off balances using the Time Off service, employees
can view and manage their time off balances and requests on their mobile devices.
Managers can view employees time off balances and approve time off requests. Time
Off Approvals will be done from the My Team feature.
Note: For ADP Mobile Solution Tablet app users, Paid Time Off balances for employees
with Allowed and Taken Balances on pay statements are not available.

Setting Up for Time and Attendance


Note: This feature may be available if your company is using the Time & Attendance
Module in ADP Workforce Now.
When setting up time and attendance features using the Time and Attendance module,
you may want to set geo-location or time punch restrictions for your employees. See the
following sections in this guide for more information:

Setting Up Manager Features in Enhanced Time & Attendance
Important: Before you begin, you must contact your ADP representative to activate
your database for mobile access and define which Labor Levels may be selected when
your employees are using a mobile device to capture time. You can select up to seven
Labor Levels. Employees can perform Work Rule Transfers in real-time if your company
has Work Rule Transfers enabled in Enterprise eTime.
Enhanced Time & Attendance Users: To allow employees to clock in and clock out
and utilize the Geo Locations feature, you are required to set up a Time Zone and a
Mobile Location system comment. For assistance with Time Zone setup and adding the
system comment, contact your ADP representative.
To activate the Time and Attendance feature, the Employee Time check box must be
selected for your employees. For more information about activating this feature, see
Setting Permissions on page 3. Depending on the version of ADP Mobile Solutions your
employees are using, time features may not be available.

Setting Up Geographical Locations Restrictions


You can create a set of geographical restrictions that will determine if the employees
time entry will be accepted.
Doing this is optional, and not required to use ADP Mobile Solutions. However, if
geographical locations are not configured your employees will be able to clock in and
clock out from any location.
Starting Point: In ADP Workforce Now - Setup > Mobile > Geo Locations
1 Click Add New.
2 Enter a Geographic ID and Description. These are user-defined values.
3 Enter the Address of Location that you will allow time entry from.
Do one of the following:
Click Get Coordinates.
Result: The Latitude and Longitude fields are automatically populated based on
the Address of Location entered.
Enter the values in the Latitude and Longitude fields.
4 In the Range section of the page, select a type (Mile or Meters) and how far an
employee can be from the designated location where they clock in or out.
5 Click Submit.

Setting Up Time Punch Restrictions


You can restrict the time frame (before or after the scheduled time) that an employee
can clock in or clock out.
Starting Point: In ADP Workforce Now - Setup > Mobile > Time Settings
1 On the Time Settings page, enter the hours and/or minutes to allow the employees
to clock in before their scheduled start time and clock out after their scheduled out
time. This only applies to clocking employees that have schedules.
2 Click the Add icon to select a specific geographic location that an employee can enter
their time using a mobile device.
3 Select the Allow transaction if the coordinates are not available? check box to
allow an employee to clock in or clock out in the event that the mobile device cannot
determine a GPS location.
4 Click Submit.

Setting Up Manager Features in Enhanced Time & Attendance


Enhanced Time & Attendance users may need to perform the following setup tasks to
fully activate the Manager Features.
Important: Manager permissions will be automatically activated if your company is
using the Time & Attendance Module in ADP Workforce Now. For more information, see
Manager Features on page 6.
If a manager has more than 100 assigned users, they can create a specific user
group which can be managed through the My Team feature. To create this user
group, the manager can perform a personal hyperfind query. The created group must
be named My Mobile Team.
The My Team feature will not display terminated employees on mobile devices.

Adding Content on the Mobile News Page


With ADP Mobile News you can provide your employees with real-time information. The
Mobile News feature enables you to stay connected with your employees through
up-to-date company news and events.
Note: News items are not automatically translated into other languages. If a client wants
a news story published in another language, the client has to manually translate the
content.
Important: Mobile News items will remain active for 90 days following the Date of Publication. If you want the new item to be active for longer, either change the Date of Publication or re-post as a new article.
Starting Point: In ADP Workforce Now - Setup > Mobile > Manage News
1 Click Add.
2 Enter an Identifier, Article Title, Author(s), and select a Date of Publication.

Note: Identifier is a brief description of the items topic such as News or Company
Event. There is a limit of fifty characters and it cannot contain any special characters
with the exception of hyphens and underscores. Click the Hide checkbox to hide the
content from Mobile News on a mobile device.

3 Enter the new content. Use the Editor toolbar to change the font, size, color, weight,
alignment, add images, links, and so on. Hover your mouse over the various
fields/buttons in the Editor to display their function.
4 Select the security profile or profiles that you want to have access to the content. If
the profiles are not visible, click Assign Profiles to show the available profiles.
5 Click Save.

Uploading Document Files


When editing or adding news content, you can upload documents to a Mobile News
item.
Starting Point: In ADP Workforce Now - Setup > Mobile > Manage News > Add
1 Click the Insert Link icon on the text editor toolbar.
2 Click the Upload tab.
3 Click Select Files and locate the file on your local disk.
Note: Accepted document files formats are .csv, .doc, .dot, .docx, .mdb, .mht, and
.pdf.
4 Select the file and click Upload. The document is uploaded and displays in the Previously uploaded files area.
Note: The last loaded file is added to the bottom of the previously uploaded files area
or alphabetically. You may have to scroll down to see your uploaded file.
5 Click on the file. The selected documents URL and info is added to the Link Properties
window.
6 Enter a Description and select a Target window.
7 Click Set.
8 Do one of the following:
Click Done to retain your changes.
Click Cancel to return to the status previous to the last save.

Getting Your Employees Started with ADP Mobile


Solutions
To begin using ADP Mobile Solutions your employees need to download the application
to a compatible mobile device. There are four ways to download the application:

The method used depends on your mobile device. For example, if you use a BlackBerry
you would download the application from ADP; if you use an Apple device, you would
download the application from the App Store or iTunes. If you use an AndroidTM device,
you would download the application from the Google PlayTM. If you use a Windows
Phone, you would download for www.windowsphone.com.
Your employees can also set a password PIN (Personal Identification Number) for login.
Employees with Touch ID capable smartphones can use Touch ID for login. They must
select the Enable Touch ID checkbox on the login page to activate that feature.
Important: The Mobile PIN Login feature is automatically enabled for ADP Mobile Solutions. Practitioners can disable the Mobile PIN Login feature for employees using ADP
Security Management. For more information about setting the Mobile PIN Login feature,
see the online help topic Managing the Use and Display of Mobile Pin in ADP Security
Management (Setup > Security > Security Management).
Note: New users who have just established a profile must wait 24 hours before accessing
ADP Mobile Solutions.

Downloading ADP Mobile Solutions from ADP


Before you begin: Confirm that you are using a compatible mobile device:
AndroidTM mobile technology platform (v2.3 or higher)
BlackBerry smartphone (v4.6.1 or higher)
iPhone (3G or higher), iPad, or iPod touch (with iOS 4.x or higher) mobile digital
devices
Windows Phone (8.0 or higher)
Starting Point: On your mobile device - https://mobile.adp.com
1 On the Login page, enter your ADP User ID.
Note: If you don't want to re-enter it every time you launch the application, select
Remember User ID and then select Submit.
2 Enter your ADP Password and select Log In.
Note: If you forget your password, select Forgot? and follow the instructions to reset it
by logging in from a desktop browser (not your mobile device).
3 Review the Terms of Use and select Accept.

From the Springboard, you can now access the available ADP Mobile Solutions features.

Logging in with a PIN


If you plan to use ADP Mobile Solutions frequently, or if you use a mobile device without
a key pad, you may prefer to create a PIN (Personal Identification Number) for faster
login. Your companys Mobile PIN Login feature must be enabled for employees to use a
PIN.
Starting Point: On your mobile device - Springboard > Settings
1 Select Preferences and then select I want to login with a PIN.
2 Enter your PIN and confirm your selections.
Note: Your PIN must be 4 to 10 digits long. It can't be a sequence of digits (e.g., 2345)
or the same digit (e.g., 3333).

Logging in with Touch ID


If you plan to use ADP Mobile Solutions frequently, and your mobile device has Touch ID
capability, you may prefer to use Touch ID for faster login. To enable Touch ID log in:
1 On the ADP Mobile Solutions login page on the mobile app, select the Enable Touch
ID checkbox.
2 Log in using a Mobile PIN or Password.
3 Read and accept the Terms and Conditions.
Note: After completing steps 2 and 3, Touch ID is enabled and can be used at the next
log in.

Managing the ADP Mobile Solutions Banner


An ADP Mobile Solutions banner is displayed on the Pay Statements page for all
employees. Employees can click on the banner and get more information about ADP
Mobile Solutions. The following banner will display on the Pay Statements page (Myself
> Pay > Pay Statements).

Practitioners can manage the display of the ADP Mobile Solutions banner using menu
access permissions. Hide the banner or make it visible by doing the following:
Starting Point: In ADP Workforce Now - Setup > Security > Access Permissions
1 On the Access Permissions page, select Menu access.
2 On the Profiles page, select Employee on the left side navigation.
3 From the Employee Profiles section, select the user group for which you want to
display or hide the ADP Mobile Solutions banner.
4 On the Menu Access tab, select the Myself tab.
5 To make the ADP Mobile Solutions banner visible or to hide it, under Myself > Pay
> Pay > Pay Statements, click to select or clear the IPay Mobile Banner check
box.
6 Click Save.

Deactivating Features for ADP Mobile Solutions


Practitioners can deactivate Mobile Solutions and prevent employees from accessing any
or all of the ADP Mobile Solutions features from their mobile devices.
Mobile features can be deactivated for all users by selecting Setup > Security >
Security Management and Setup > Company Information > Profile, and on the
Settings tab, moving features from Enabled Mobile Products to Disabled Mobile
Products.
Some features can be deactivated for specific employee profiles by selecting an
employee profile from the Access Permissions page (Setup > Security > Access
Permissions), and clicking to clear feature check boxes located on the ADP Mobile
Solutions tab.
Note: The Time Off feature cannot be deactivated using the ADP security management
service. It can be deactivated for specific employee profiles. See Deactivating Features
for Employee Profiles on page 21.

Deactivating Features for Employee Profiles


The mobile features can be deactivated for specific employee profiles using menu access
permissions.
To deactivate features:
Starting Point: Setup > Security > Access Permissions > Menu Access
1 On the Profiles page, select profile group on the left side navigation to which the user
group is assigned, for instance, Employee.
Note: ADP Mobile Solutions Employee functionality can assigned to user groups in any
profile group, not just the Employee profile group. Refer to the ADP Workforce Now online
help topics Adding a Custom Profile and Adding Profile Members for more information.
2 From the Profiles section, select the user group for which you want to set permissions.
3 Select ADP Mobile Solutions tab.
4 Do the following:
To deactivate one feature, click to clear the appropriate check boxes under the
Mobile Solutions check box.
To deactivate all features simultaneously, click to clear the Mobile Solutions
check box.
5 Click Save.
6 Notify your users about any features that have been deactivated.

The mobile features can be deactivated for specific manager profiles using menu access
permissions. To deactivate features:
Starting Point: Setup > Security > Access Permissions > Menu Access
1 On the Profiles page, select profile group on the left side navigation to which the user

Note: Manager functionality can assigned to user groups in any profile group, not just
the Manager profile group. Refer to the ADP Workforce Now online help topics Adding

2 From the Profiles section, select the user group for which you want to set permissions.
3 Select ADP Mobile Solutions tab.

4 Do the following:
To deactivate one feature, click to clear the appropriate check boxes under the
Mobile Solutions check box.
To deactivate all features simultaneously, click to clear the Mobile Solutions
check box.
5 Click Save.
6 Notify your users about any features that have been deactivated.

Starting Point: In ADP Workforce Now - Setup > Security > Security Management
1 Click Setup > Organizational Information > Profile.
2 Click the Settings tab.
3 To disable a mobile product, click to select a product and move it from Enabled
Mobile Products to Disabled Mobile Products.
Note: Moving a mobile product to Disabled Mobile Products disables the feature
for all users.
4 Click Save.
5 Notify your users about any features that have been deactivated.

Deactivating the Retirement Feature


To deactivate the Retirement feature, contact your ADP representative.
