HBCP is Now
Enrolling for the 20162017 School Year!
We are now enrolling scholars
for the 2016-2017 school year.
Applications are available in the
front office. We are enrolling
scholars in K-8th grade. Spread
the word!
If you have a child that is ready
to begin kindergarten next
school year, come in and fill out
an enrollment application. The
sooner you get your
application/information in, the
sooner we can get your child
enrolled for the new school
year.
An enrollment contest will be
coming soon. Stay tuned!

I hope all of our families and scholars had a wonderful and safe
Spring Break! Welcome back! Today is the first day of Trimester 3.
We are glad to be back in session, and look forward to having a
successful Trimester. Trimester 3 is an important trimester, as its the
last Trimester of the school year and is also the trimester we have
SBAC (state) testing for grades 3rd-8th. As we begin Trimester 3, lets
remember that Attendance Counts! Lets bring our scholars to school
on time, every day. Great attendance=great success! Lets keep
working together to help our scholars achieve!

Perfect Attendance Luncheon

Congratulations to 74 of our scholars for receiving Perfect Attendance
for Trimester 1 and Trimester 2 during the reporting periods of
August 19th-October 23rd and November 30th-February 12th.
These scholars had zero absences during the reporting periods in
Trimester 1 AND Trimester 2. Our scholars and scholars families have
been invited to a Perfect Attendance Luncheon tomorrow, March 22nd
from 12:00 p.m.-1:00 p.m. Invites were sent home via mail over
Spring Break. In addition, a School Messenger message was sent to
families over Spring Break as well. We look forward to seeing you at
the Perfect Attendance Luncheon. Lets keep bringing our scholars to
school every day, on time!

Perfect Attendance Assemblies

Congratulations to 123 of our scholars for receiving Perfect
Attendance for Trimester 2 during the reporting period of November
30th-February 12th. These scholars had zero absences during the
reporting period in Trimester 2. A letter was sent home via mail over
Spring Break. In addition, a School Messenger message was sent to
families over Spring Break as well. The assemblies will be held on
Wednesday, March 23rd at different times for each grade level.
Please see below for your childs grade level time:
Kinder: 8:00 a.m.

2nd Grade: 8:45 a.m.

1st Grade: 9:30 a.m.

3rd and 4th Grade: 10:00 a.m.

5th and 6th Grade: 10:30 a.m.
7th and 8th Grade: 11:00 a.m.

Want to Volunteer? Chaperones

Needed for Field Lessons
We have College Field Lessons and grade
level Field Lessons occurring throughout
the next couple of months. We will need
2-4 parent/guardian chaperones for each
field lesson. However, all
chaperones/volunteers must be
fingerprinted and cleared to ensure the
safety of our scholars. If you are
interested in being a chaperone, please see
Mrs. Johannsen in the front office in
regards to live scan information.

Common Core Parent Nights

Coming Soon to H.B.C.P! In an effort to help inform our families with
additional information in regards to Common Core, as well as provide
strategies for you to better help your child at home, we will host Common
Core Parent Nights during the month of April. The Common Core Parent
Nights are important for each grade level. This school year we adopted a
Common Core aligned curriculum. You will learn more about our curriculum
and how to better help your child at home during Common Core Parent
Night. Families with scholars in testing grades, we will provide information on
how to help your child succeed on the state test in May. Flyers will be sent
home in April. In the meantime, dates and times for each grade level are listed
below. Save the date(s)!
Monday, April 25th
5th grade: 4:15-5:15
8th grade: 5:15-6:15

Tuesday, April 26th

3rd and 4th grade: 4:30-5:30
6th and 7th grade: 5:15-6:15

Wednesday, April 27th

Kinder & 1st grade: 2:15-3:15 p.m.
2nd grade: 3:15-4:15 p.m.

Mother and Son Dance/Father and Daughter Dance

HBCP will be hosting its 2nd Annual Mother and Son Dance and Father and
Daughter Dance in April. Our Mother and Son Dance will be a luau-themed
event that will be held on April 8th. Our Father and Daughter Dance will be a
princess-themed event that will be held on April 22nd. Both events will be held
in the MPR at HBCP. Please look out for flyers to be distributed soon. If you
are interested in volunteering for either of these events, please see Mrs.
Johannsen in the front office.

HBCP Yearbooks!
HBCP is selling yearbooks!! Yearbooks are still on sale. If you want to
purchase a yearbook for your child(ren), please take an envelope from the
front office, insert your money, and write yearbook on the envelope and place
the envelope in the deposit box in the office. Yearbooks are now $15. The
deadline to purchase yearbooks is April 6th, 2016.

Spring Pictures

Spring pictures will be take place on Wednesday, April 6th. Scholars with a
prepayment or money order form, will take pictures on this day. All scholars
do not take pictures in the Spring. All scholars who are taking pictures must
wear their dress uniform. If you have any additional questions, please contact
the front office.
