"We, verily, have made music as a ladder for your souls, a means whereby they may
be lifted up unto the realm on high"
Bah'u'llh, The Kitab-i-Aqdas
"The art of music is divine and effective. It is the food of the soul and spirit. Through
the power and charm of music the spirit of man is uplifted. It has wonderful sway and
effect in the hearts of children, for their hearts are pure and melodies have great
influence in them. The latent talents with which the hearts of these children are
endowed will find expression through the medium of music. Therefore you must exert
yourselves to make them proficient; teach them to sing with excellence and effect. It is
incumbent upon each child to know something of music, for without knowledge of this
art, the melodies of instrument and voice cannot be rightly enjoyed. Likewise it is
necessary that the schools teach it in order that the souls and hearts of the pupils may
become vivified and exhilarated and their lives be brightened with enjoyment."
'Abdu'l-Bah, Promulgation of Universal Peace
Preface
This compilation of lyrics was put together to assist in reaching the hearts of the children and
youth. Taken from song sheets we have collected in the communities in which we have lived,
and from the lyrics of albums, choral scores and sheet music we have owned over the years, the
compilation includes songs by Bah's, as well as a small number of traditional and popular
songs on themes dear to the hearts of Bah's.
The songs are listed alphabetically (word-by-word) by title, but we have found that songs have
become known by different titles in different communities. If you are viewing this with a
computer, don't forget you can use your search function for specific words!
The composers, lyricists and sources are indicated if we could identify them.
We would be happy to receive any additions and corrections!

'ABDU'L-BAH
(Words: Walter Heath, Valarie & Marcus
Richmond; Music: Walter Heath, Lote Tree)
CHORUS:
'ABDU'L-BAH
(Alan McKay, Sheet music in The Bah'
Songbook, Vol. 1)
The photograph I see comes alive so easily
It tells me of a life that was so pure
He would never turn away from anyone
And the love in His eyes is so real
He suffered all His life to show us how to be
free
He would always love His enemies
'ABDU'L-BAH
(John W. Behrens)
When I was a child my parents spoke of a
Man,
They called Him 'the Servant of God'
For He loved ev'ry one, as He taught all
mankind,
'Abdu'l-Bah was His name.
'Are you happy?', He would always ask the
friends.
His eyes would shine and His smile would
cheer
As He taught the word of God:
'Are you happy?', He would always ask the
friends.
His eyes would shine and His smile would
cheer
As He taught the word of God:
There's a garden in the Holy Land
Where He'd pray for all mankind.
Rich and poor were all alike
In His presence they'd rejoice.
People came from near and from afar
Just to hear 'Abdu'l-Bah.
When He'd meet the friends of God
ABDUL-BAHA
(Grant Hindin Miller, Afar)
He was diamonds, He was oceans, He was
eyes of Persian blue
He was First Light, He was many, He was
One
Open-hearted in the autumn, open-hearted in
the spring
Summer roses in His tunic each season
He was harbour, He was haven, He was
heaven, He was home
He was warm smile, He was soft voice, He
was tears
Strong and tender, like a river, and His heart
beat like a birds
How I long to hear those wings beat close
again
He was new snow, on old branches, He was
crystal in the stream
He was silver-spinning rainfall, He was fire
He was water from the deep well, He was
rainbow on the marsh
He was safe path to the hillside, He was stars
He was shelter from the cold wind, He was
warmth against the ice
He was lips that told a language of their own
His arms held out like branches, and His
eyes were like a doves
How I long to feel those wings beat close
again
ADVANCE GUARDS
(Words: Jim Seals, Music: Jim Seals & Dash
Crofts, Lift Up Your Voices and Sing, Vol. 3)
I used to look out from my window
And see the tall grass in the wind
Standing there just like advance guards
Waiting for the battle to begin
My mother used to be much younger
She'd sing me soft sweet lullabies
I saw my fortress in the mountain
Each time I looked into her eyes
But now she's gone
CHORUS:
Take me there, take me there
I don't care where we go
Take me, I just want to know what I used to
know
Take me there, take me there
I don't care where we go
Take me there, take me, I just want to go
My father's hair has turned to gray now
I never stopped to ask him why
And all the things that he once treasured
I see them slowly drifting by
ALL MY TRIALS
(Traditional)
Hush, little baby, don't you cry,
You know your Mama was born to die.
All my trials, Lord, soon be over.
CHORUS:
Too late, my brothers,
Too late but never mind.
All my trials, Lord, soon be over.
The river of Jordan is muddy and cold.
Well, it chills the body, but not the soul.
All my trials, Lord, soon be over.
I've got a little book with pages three,
And every page spells liberty,
All my trials, Lord, soon be over.
CHORUS
If living were a thing that money could buy,
You know the rich would live and the poor
would die.
All my trials, Lord, soon be over.
There grows a tree in Paradise,
And the Pilgrims call it the Tree of Life.
All my trials, Lord, soon be over.
CHORUS
ALLH-U-ABH!
(Lauretta Haynes)
SING 2X: 1ST LOUD, 2ND SOFT:
Allh-u-Abh! Allh-u-Abh!
Allh-u-Abh! Allh-u-Abh!
We say it each day.
We say it this way:
Allh-u-Abh! Allh-u-Abh!
ALLAHUMMA (O GOD)

of the Second Bah' World Congress)

AMAZING GRACE
(Words: John Newton, Music: Early
American melody)
Amazing grace - how sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me!
ANCIENT OF DAYS
(by Gary Sandler/Jamie Harville)
Blessing and honor, glory and power
Be unto the Ancient of Days
From ev'ry nation, all of creation
Bow before the Ancient of Days
Chorus:
Ev'ry tongue in heaven and earth
Shall declare Your glory
Ev'ry knee shall bow at Your throne
In wor---ship
You will be exalted Oh God
And Your kingdom shall not pass away
O Ancient of Days
Bridge:
Your kingdom shall reign over all the earth
Sing unto the Ancient of Days
For none can compare to Your matchless
worth
Sing unto the Ancient of Days
ANIMALS
(We Want to Grow Up)
Ya-tada-tada-tada-tada-tada (SNORT 2
TIMES)
Ya-tada-tada-tada-tada-tada Arf, Arf
Ya-tada-tada-tada-tada-tada Meow
Ya-tada-tada-tada-tada-tada Moo
Ya-tada-tada-tada-tada-tada Quack, quack,

The creatures in this big world,
Whether they walk or fly, or fly
Are part of God's creation,
Like you and I
CHORUS:
That's why we treat them with kindness.
We give them our love too, love too.
Animals have feelings, like people do.
Ya-tada-tada-tada-tada-tada . . .
The dog on our front doorstep,
He is our faithful friend, our friend
We also thank our milk cow
ARISE!
(by Phoenix)
We are travelling across this land
Our map is the Divine Plan
The hours left are not long
We cant go wrong when all the songs
become one song.
Work, this is the great work.
Heart and soul, all parts become one whole.
Chorus:
Quicken to life this dead world,
Illumine this dark universe
The joy of 'Abdu'l-Bah depends on this.
The mercy of God is falling like rain
ARRESTED IN TEHRAN
Arrested in Tehran, brought on foot and
bound in chains
For what He believed, an innocent Man is
brought to a place of thieves.
Cast into a dungeon, the notorious SiyhChl, Immortal Beauty laid veiled behind
these walls.
Flanked by hardened criminals, around His
neck was clamped a chain,
So heavy a weight, scars would always
remain.
One night in a dream, on every side these
words were heard:
Victorious we shall render Thee by Thy self
and by Thy pen,
Grieve not for what hath befallen Thee
And be Thou not afraid, For Thou art in
safety.
Though only a child, 'Abdu'l-Bah longed to
behold his Father in the Black Pit, damp
and cold.
When on a servants shoulders he was carried
deep inside the gloom,
The voice of Bah was heard, Do not bring
My Son into this room.
The young Master then saw Him, heavily
burdened in chains,
Perhaps it was then that He knew the weight
He was to bear would be the same.
AS YOUR FAITH IS
As your faith is,
So shall your powers and blessings be
This is the balance, this is the balance,
This is the balance.
AYYM-I-H
(Jean Marks, Loving Hands)
Ayym-i-H, a gift of gold,
A time for young, a time for old,
A time for joy, a time for fun
A time for each and every one.
CHORUS:
Ring out! Sing out! The glad, glad cheer:
Join in, be happy! Ayym-i-H is here!
Ayym-i-H, now don't forget
An ailing friend, an injured pet.
CHORUS
AYYM-I-H IS COMING
(Kathy Reimer)
2 TIMES:
Ayym-i-H is coming!
Ayym-i-H is near!
Intercalary's coming,
The time for fun and cheer.
The Bb proclaimed that these are days
That we give to the poor.
We have good food and give our gifts
And open up our door
THE BB
(Joyce Deardorff, Happy Ayym-i-H, )
Mull Husayn, don't feel so alone
The Promised Q'im is waiting,
So search through the Land aflame with your
Cause
Then walk through the Gates of Shrz.
Who is this Youth so fair
Standing alone in the market square?
The Bb, The Bb, Chosen of God
The Bb, young Bb in Persia
The Bb, The Bb, Chosen of God
The Bb, young Bb in Persia
Eighteen to find Him, the proofs were all
shown.
On foot and in visions they came.
He sent them to teach throughout the land
To light the unquenchable flame.
And twenty-thousand friends gave their lives
for Him
To let the light of Bah shine in:
THE BB
(Jim Seals, Lote Tree)
CHORUS
He held our hands in His
As He spoke of things to come.
He said, 'You must let yourselves be loved
By all and love everyone.'
CHORUS
THE BB
(Claire Segue, Flight)
I saw it in His eyes. I saw it in His smile.
There was a sun within His eyes
And a melody within His soul.
CHORUS:
The Bb, Precious Youth, Primal Point.
The Bb, Precious Youth, The Bb.
He led us to the mountain
Where the grazing sheep stay.
He said, 'Soon all nations will gather here
As they pass through the Gate of . . .'

CHORUS:
Bah'u'llh, Bah'u'llh,
Bah, Bah'u'llh
The Glory of God, the Glory of God,
Glory, The Glory of God
CHORUS
BAH'U'LLH SAYS
(Based on the words of Bah'u'llh, The
Reggae Project)
Bah'u'llh says
'Close your eyes to racial differences'
Bah'u'llh says
'Welcome all with the light of oneness'
'The well-being of mankind,
its peace and security
are unattainable unless and until
its unity is firmly established'
'Ye are the leaves of one branch
and the fruits of one tree'
Chained to a wall of stone
In a dungeon beneath the ground
Living as an exile alone
In a filthy prison town
The Manifestation foretold
As the 'Glory of the Father'
Was suffering affliction
So we could learn to love each other
Living in a world of souls
Divided amongst themselves
BAH'U'LLH'S BIRTHDAY
(M. McClellan)
Do you know what we remember,
BAHYYIH KHNUM
(Alonzo Coleman)
The story we are about to tell
Is full of joy and plight.
From the martyrdom of the Bbs
To the dawning of Bah'u'llh's Light.
A story of a special woman,
Sister of 'Abdu'l-Bah.
She helped the Guardian when he was
young,
And kept the Light of Bah'u'llh strong.
The daughter of Bah'u'llh,
Whose praise she had won.
Bahyyih Khnum, Greatest Holy Leaf.
Imprisoned with her Father in 'Akk quite
young.
Affairs of the Master entrusted to run.
Bahyyih Khnum, born in 1847, died in
1932.
The Greatest Holy Leaf, she knew
BARNYARD BOOGIE
(Red and Kathy Grammer, Teaching Peace)
I know a rooster down on the farm
Every day at dawn he sounds the alarm
He doesn't do it like the other roosters do.
He sings, 'Cock-a-doodle-oodie-oodieoodie-oodie-oo'
CHORUS:
He's a singin', swingin' rooster
He loves to improvise
He's the kind of clucker who was born to
harmonize
And everyday at dawn as the sun begins to
rise
You can hear him do the barnyard boogie
Now all over the country everybody's heard
About the barnyard boogie and the one they
call the 'bird'
Bantams and leghorns, they can't resist the
beat
Bobbin' up and down while they're dancin'
with their feet
CHORUS
So it you're up at dawn and you want a little
treat
Come over to the farm where the air is fresh
and sweet
Cars'll be lined up and down the lane
But once you've heard him crow
You'll understand just why they're sayin'
CHORUS
BE A SERVANT OF BAH
(Marion Wilcox)
Be a servant of Bah
As your travel near and far,
Fix your gaze on His pure light
As you journey thru the night.
Tho' the night be dark and drear,
Soon the bright dawn will appear,
Bringing hope and courage near,
On this bright new joyous Day.
All your fears will disappear
If you serve Him with good cheer.
Faith and love is all it takes
When you trust Him with your fate.
BE STILL
(Donna Taylor, Sheet Music in A New Wind
Blowing)
Be still and hear the Word of God,
Be still and hear Him say,
'You men who are the sons of God,
This is the Promised Day.'
Bah'u'llh the Light of God,
The Blessed Beauty said,
'Behold, I am the Promised One,
I've come to raise the dead.'
Be still and sanctify your heart.
Be filled with joy and awe
Behold, the Glory of Allh,
Bah, Bah'u'llh.
BE THANKFUL IN ADVERSITY
And when I am anxious I anticipate
the manifestations of Thy bounties from all
sides.
I anticipate Thy bounties from all sides.
CHORUS:
Be thankful in adversity,
Be thankful when you're sad,
Be thankful when you're worried,
Be thankful when you're glad,
That the confirmations of God may encircle
us all
BE THOU MY VISION
(Traditional Irish Melody)
BECAUSE
(Teschemacher - D'Hardelot)
Because you come to me with naught save
love
And hold my hand and lift mine eyes above,
A wider world of hope and joy I see,
Because you come to me.
Because you speak to me in accents sweet,
I find the roses waking 'round my feet,
And I am led through tears and joy to thee,
Because you speak to me.
Because God made thee mine I'll cherish
thee
Through light and darkness, through all time
to be
And pray His love may make our love
divine,
Because made thee mine.
BEIN' GREEN
(Raposo, as sung by Kermit, The Muppet
Show, The Sesame Street Book and Record)
It's not easy bein' green
Having to spend each day the color of the
leaves
When I think it could be nicer
Being red or yellow or gold,
Or something much more colorful, like that
It's not easy bein' green
It seems you blend in with
So many other ordinary things
And people tend to pass you over
'Cause you're not standing out like flashy
Sparkles in the water or stars in the sky
But green is the color of spring
And green can be cool, and friendly-like
And green can be big, like a mountain
Or important, like a river
Or tall, like a tree
When green is all there is to be
It could make you wonder why
But why wonder, why wonder
I'm green, and it'll do fine
It's beautiful
And I think it's what I want to be
BENEDICTION
(Lloyd Haynes, Lift Up Your Voices and
Sing, Vol. 1)
Lo! Angelic Hosts triumphant
Now surround on every side
And in heavenly strains are spreading
Peace and love that will abide
Hark! The heavenly concourse singing
Joyous praises to their King
Lift your voices now and join them
A BETTER PLACE TO BE
(Dave & Helene Van Manen, Wage Peace)
The sun, it always seems to shine in my
home,
Can't really find a reason to complain.
When I look in your eyes I can see why
I feel my life's an island in a sea of rain.
You make it easier to cope.
You give me reason to find hope
That we can make this world a better place to
be.
There's not a thing I'd rather do
Than to spend my time with you,
As we sow the seeds of love and harmony.
The world outside is tugging hard on my
sleeve
It seems to try so hard to bring me down.
When I feel my walls a start to crumblin',
It takes your love to get my feet back on the
ground.
You make it easier to cope.
You give me reason to find hope
That we can make this world a better place to
be.
There's not a thing I'd rather do
Than to spend my time with you,
As we sow the seeds of love and harmony.
BIRD'S NEST
I saw a bird's nest in a tree
God loves the birds and loves the tree
And God loves me
BLACKBIRD
(John Lennon and Paul McCartney)
Blackbird singing in the dead of night,
Take these broken wings and learn to fly.
All your life,
You were only waiting for this moment to
arise.
Blackbird singing in the dead of night,
Take these sunken eyes and learn to see.
All your life,
You were only waiting for this moment to be
free.
Blackbird fly into the light
Of a dark, black night.
BLESSED BEAUTY
As I walked down my troubled street
Feeling so bad and looking at my feet
I turned my face unto the sky
And I saw a white cloud passing by
And I knew the Blessed Beauty
Was there and He was:
Walking with me, talking with me,
Laughing with me, singing with me,
Hoping for me, caring for me.
As I walk down my crooked street
I tell everyone I chance to meet,
Hey, brother, don't despair,
The Blessed Beauty is there
And He is:
CHORUS:
Walking with you, talking with you,
Laughing with you, singing with you,
Hoping for you, caring for you.
Now black man, white man,
Yellow man, red man,
When your hopes are tattered and torn

love

ground
Raise your children up, teach them what
you've found
A call to nations, great and small (One & all)
We can heed the teacher's calling
We can stand or fall
There's a new horizon within us all
We can learn to live together
We can stand . Or fall
CAMINANDO JUNTOS
(Reed Chandler, Con Ojos de Fe)
Como una flauta suavemente
Tocando en la brisa,
De muy lejos pero tan cerca,
Su msica viene a m, y me dice:
Somos hermanos,
Caminando juntos, en la primavera;
Y las rosas que vemos
Son rostros de hombres.
Se llaman Bah's.
Y ahora yo tambin soy Bah'
Y la msica mando a t, y te digo que:
Somos hermanos,
Caminando juntos, en la primavera;
Y las rosas que vemos
Son rostros de hombres.
Reflejando el sol.
La flauta es un instrumento puro.
Las brisas nos traen su meloda.
En verdad, es un canto universal
Diciendo que somos flores de un mismo
jardn
Somos hojas del mismo rbol,
Somos olas del mismo mar
Y somos hermanos.
CAREFULLY TAUGHT
(Rodgers & Hammerstein, South Pacific)
You've got to be taught to hate and fear,
You've got to be taught from year to year,
It's got to be drummed in your dear little ear,
You've got to be carefully taught.
You've got to be taught to be afraid
Of people whose eyes are oddly made,
And people whose skin is a diff'rent shade.
You've got to be carefully taught.
You've got to be taught before it's too late,
Before you are six or seven or eight,
To hate all the people your relatives hate,
You've got to be carefully taught.
You've got to be carefully taught.
CARING
(Lyrics & music by Stefan BrownTroubadour Music@98)
Caring is giving to all the people around you
Caring is minding our beautiful world that
surrounds you
When you do a good job and give it your
best
Pick up a bird, put it back in the nest
When your friend starts to cry and theyre
feeling quite sad
Just walk up to them and say, Dont feel so
bad.
When your mama is tired and papas asleep
Dont go round shouting and stomping your
feet
Granny Moko is cold, would you get her a
shawl
Certainly you say, no trouble at all.
CHORUS:
O Master, Mystery of God,
Center of the Covenant!
As the wind to the tree, loving glance to a
lonely heart, beck'ning hand to a child
apart. So you are to me.
CHORUS
BRIDGE:
Most Mighty Branch sprung from the
Ancient Root, the Limb of the Law of God,
the Being round Whom all names
revolve, The magic name 'Abdu'lBah.'*
CHORUS:
We are children of the King
We can worship, we can sing
His praise in this world and forever
We are children of the King
CHORUS (2 times)
CHILDREN'S PRAYER/CHANT
Prayer by 'Abdu'l-Bah
(Music: Michael Moutrie & Susan Engle,
Come and Sing & Special Times)
O Lord! I am a child; enable me to grow
beneath the shadow of Thy lovingkindness.
I am a tender plant; cause me to be nurtured
through the outpourings of the clouds of
Thy bounty.
I am a sapling of the garden of love;
make me into a fruitful tree.
Thou art the Mighty and the Powerful,
and Thou art the All-Loving,
the All-Knowing, the All-Seeing.
CHILDREN'S PRAYER
Prayer by 'Abdu'l-Bah
(Music: Bev Ruhe, Canta esa meloda/Sing
this Melody)
O God! Rear this little babe in the bosom of
Thy love
and give it milk from the breast of
Providence. Cultivate this fresh plant in
the rose-garden of Thy love and nurture it
by showers from the clouds of Providence.
Make it a child of the Kingdom and lead it
to the divine world.
Thou art powerful and kind! Thou art the
Giver, the Bestower, Whose blessings
transcend all else.
La, la de da
CHORUS
The children of the world
The children of the world
The children of the world
Children of the world
CIRCLE OF LIFE
(Lyrics: Tim Rice, Music: Elton John, The
Lion King)
From the day we arrive on the planet
And blinking, step into the sun
There's more to see than can ever be seen
More to do than can ever be done
There's far too much to take in here
More to find than can ever be found
But the sun rolling high
Through the sapphire sky
Keeps great and small on the endless round
2 TIMES:
It's the circle of life
And it moves us all
Through despair and hope
Through faith and love
Till we find our place
On the path unwinding
In the circle, the circle of life
Chorus
(SLOWLY)
And oh what a wonderful world God has
given us,
All those treasures that mankind can hold,
Stand up, lets show our colours
COLOURS
(by Shelly and Steve Hines)
Well I can imagine all of the people living
together as one,
Everyone speaking the same kind of
language.
And having the same kind of fun,
Never a thought to ones hue or complexion,
Prejudice tears us apart.
There is only one tone in a man thats
important
Thats the colour that comes from the heart.
Chorus:
Stand up, lets show our colours,
These praiseworthy actions and deeds
Take note of what lies before us,
Lets live out our spiritual needs.
Stand up, lets show our colours,
And walk through this world hand in hand.
Take note of what lies before us,
For justice together well stand.
A man and a woman were born to be equal,
And knowledge is everyones right
We can settle our differences through
consultation,
We dont have to quarrel and fight.
Religion and science when studied together,
The secrets will come to unfold.
And oh what a wonderful world God has
given us,
All those treasures that mankind can hold.
COME ON HOME
(Grant Hindin Miller, Afar)
What image could we have of Him without
the sun
A hundred thousand million rays, a smile on
everyone
And what image could we have of Him
without the stars
A festival, celestial, sprinkled near and far
Most of the time we are refugees from the
promptings of our hearts
Come on home to the sun, come on home to
the One
Come on home again - to the Love
THE COMFORTER
(The Reggae Project)
International crisis,
Children going thirsty every day
Longing for the truth
To quench their thirsty lips
Here comes your Comforter
Oh, oh, Bah'u'llh come forward
From the land of Persia
Bah'u'llh come forward
From the prison of Akk
Bah'u'llh come forward
Once Jesus Christ said He had to go
To another place to send the Comforter...
COMPASSION
(Jennifer Russell, The Virtues Songs)
CHORUS:
Today I act with compassion
I will be a friend
When someone needs a friend
I notice and give my attention
When help is needed
Or a hurt needs to mend
Compassion is caring
Compassion is listening
Compassion is being close
To one who is feeling alone
CONSIDERATION IS CONTAGIOUS
(Jennifer Russell, The Virtues Songs)
CHORUS:
Consider me, consider you
Consideration is contagious
I consider what I can do
That is thoughtful and courteous
I put myself in your shoes
And I walk a little way
I respect what you're feeling
Right here, right now today
CHORUS
I think of the little things
That bring you happiness
How do my actions affect you?
Consideration brings peacefulness
CHORUS
CHORUS
CONSULTATION
(Words: Roberta Christian, Music: Eugene
Babcock, A Bah' Child's Song Book)
CONVERSATION PEACE
(Stevie Wonder, Conversation Peace)
COURAGE
(Jennifer Russell, The Virtues Songs)
CHORUS:
Staring right at 2000 AD
As if mankind's atrocities to man has no
history
But just a glance at life in 2000 BC
We find traces of man's inhumanity to man
There's no mystery
CHORUS:
All for one, one for all
There's no way we'll reach our greatest
heights
Unless we heed the call
Me for you, you for me
There's no chance of world salvation
Less the conversation's peace
We can't pause, watch and say 'no' this can't
be
When there's a plan by any means to have
Cleansing of one's ethnicity
And we shouldn't act as if we don't hear nor
see
Like in the holocaust of six million Jews and
A hundred and fifty million blacks during
slavery
CHORUS
When publicly or privately convened
May love, positivity and life's preservation
be the basic theme
And should you put your trust in some
prophet in life
Give him trust but your faith must stay with
the one
Who gave the ultimate sacrifice for . . .
CHORUS
CHORUS:
Courage is a quality of the heart
The Spirit of God within me
Courage is bravery in
Face of my fears
With wisdom and humility
Be strong when life overwhelms you
Find courage to try new things
Don't give up when something
Feels hard to do
With courage we can do great things
CHORUS
COURTESY
Let's all practice courtesy, courtesy, courtesy
Let's all practice courtesy every single day
Please and thank you, How are you?
Is there something I can do?
Gentle ways and guarded speech
Let's all try together
COURTESY
Based on words of 'Abdu'l-Bah
(Lyrics: Nancy Ward & Doug Cameron,
Music: Nancy Ward, We Want to Grow Up)
CHORUS:
Courtesy is greater than the rays of the sun.
CHORUS
COURTESY
(Susan Engle, Come and Sing)
If the day should be cloudy and gloomy
And there seems to be nothing to do
Help a friend
Tell your mother you love her
And your day will be shiny and new
Courtesy seems to me that I make sure that
you're happy before I take care of me
THE COVENANT
(Leona H. Hosack, Canta esa meloda/Sing
this Melody)
The Bb, the Gate, told the people of the
coming;
The coming of Bah'u'llh.
Bah'u'llh was a Prophet of God,
A Prophet, the Glory of God.
CHORUS:
The Covenant is a promise
And a chain of unending love
That God will never leave man alone.
'Abdu'l-Bah was the Son of the Prophet,
The Servant of the Glory of God.
Shoghi Effendi, the grandson of the Servant;
The Guardian of the Cause of God.
CHORUS
CHORUS
CROSSROADS
(Russ Brightwell, Legacy - World Peace)
CRY OUT!
(by Cat Winterfox)
Cry out, cry out the name of Bah'u'llh,
I said cry out, cry out the name of the Glory
of God.
Get up on your feet, raise the standard high,
Make the victories sweet, and then cry,
Chorus:
THE DAWNBREAKERS
(Deborah Bley & Greg Shaw)
When all is gone but awesome light
To show the sun was here,
Who lights the candles in the night
To ward away the fear?
Who chased the sun while others crept
Till soon the fire was gone?
Who brings the day to those who slept
And failed to see the dawn?
We are but tiny morning stars
DAY BY DAY
Day by day, day by day,
Oh, dear Lord, three things I pray:
To see Thee more clearly,
Love Thee more dearly,
Follow Thee more nearly
Day by Day
(REPEAT ALL)
Day by day by day by day by day
DAY OF GOD
(Tune: When the Saints Go Marchin' In)
The Day of God has finally come!
The Day of God has finally come!
The Day the saints all prayed for
The Promised Day has come!
DEDICATION
(Marina DeMerritt, Sheet music in Spinstar
Music Collection 1)
Thank you, God, for giving me the good
things of this earth
DESERT PEOPLE
(James Seals)
Farther along we'll understand,
We're all just a part of the plan
The Sun of Reality has dawned above
eternity
Now, even the desert will bloom
Even the desert will bloom
Hurry, oh hurry, come soon
'Cause even the desert will bloom.
Farther along we'll be at ease
The world will be free from disease
The Most Great Peace will come
And all mankind will live as one
And even the desert will bloom
'Cause even the desert will bloom.
So let Your sweet Rain fall on me
For I am dying
We're desert people and we're in pain
But we're still trying
We've been down so long
We are dry and we are thirsty
So you see, the Rain we must have
Is the tears You shed long ago.
Farther along we'll find our way
Through all the darkness today
The Sun of Reality has dawned above
eternity
Now, even the desert will bloom
Even the desert will bloom
DESPIERTA DE TU SUEO
(Wiley Rinaldi)
Oh, t en la tierra,
Mira hacia afuera.
Dme qu has hallado.
Que t has hallado,
Que lo puedes comparar
Con el aire al respirar
Cuando el sol est saliendo,
Y el alabanza se rompe
En el horizonte dorado.
T que pareces muerto,
Abre tus ojos,
Levntate de tu lecho,
Despierta de tu sueo
Y sumrgete en el saber de Su verbo,
Que tu corazn volar como las aves.
(RPIDO:)
O, Dios, ten Tus puertas abiertas y djanos
entrar.
Del orgullo y locura ayuda a librarnos.
No hay nadie ms en quien confiar,
Ni lugar para refugiarnos.
(LENTO:)
Era,
Como las flores adornan las lomas en
primavera.
DO YOU KNOW?
(Marina DeMerritt, Sheet music in Spinstar
Music Collection 1)
Do you know who gave up His worldly
possessions so that you might have a
rebirth?
Do you know who endured torture and
prison so God's message could reach all on
earth?
CHORUS:
'Twas the Glory of God, a Pure Hollow
Reed.
He brought you the truth so your life would
be freed
His words fill you with power to do any deed
They soothe every hurt and meet every need
To receive His love, simply turn toward His
light
He will kindle your soul and its fire will burn
bright.
Do you know who transformed the entire
creation with just one stroke of His Pen?
CHORUS:
I ain't gonna' study war no more
I ain't gonna' study war no more
Study war no more
I ain't gonna' study war no more
Study war no more
CHORUS:
It's a very tender story, one that must be told
to all.
Let your spirit do the talking
When you tell of Bah'u'llh.
DREAM REMEMBERED
(Tina Swatton & New Jersey Bah' School
Children)
I had a dream the other night.
Where I saw a beautiful sight.
A garden of roses filled my eyes
With the splendor of paradise.
Nightingales sang a beautiful song,
That told of a brand new day.
I knew it, I knew the time had come!
For the Glory of God, the Promised One!
EAGLE
(Russ Brightwell, Legacy - World Peace)
Eagle gliding through peaks above
Lend me His Name, the One I love
For I know He's up there, I've known
And I'll reap the harvest
God has sown, God has sown
Our paths will cross
Someday real soon
His eyes will be lit
By the silvery moon
By the silvery moon
Eagle gliding, eagle gliding, eagle gliding
Eagle gliding to the One I love
EARTH
(James Seals and Dash Crofts, Seals &
Crofts)
Earth is my mother, no other, my sanctuary
But earth is my prison, my grave and my
mortuary
Give me a castle in the sun,
EARTHKEEPER
(Dave and Helene Van Manen, We Recycle)
CHORUS:
Earthkeeper, earthkeeper, that's what I am
I care for the sea and the air and the land
I love all God's creatures, whatever they are
I am an earthkeeper
I live my life gently on our mother earth
It's my simple gift and she knows what it's
worth
You see our little planet needs people who
care,
Folks to watch over her, treating her fair
So I'll plant a tree. choose to walk, not drive
EL VIENTO CANTA
(By El Viento Canta, El Viento Canta)
IN 3 VOICES:
I. El viento canta en las montaas (HOLD)
ELLAS SONG
CHORUS:
(2x) We who believe in freedom cannot
rest,
We who believe in freedom cannot rest until
it comes.
Until the killing of Black men, Black
mothers sons
Is as important as the killing of white men,
white mothers sons.
That which touches me most is that I had a
chance to work with people
Passing on to others that which was passed
on to me.
To me young people come first, they have
the courage where we fail,
And if I can but shed some light, as they
carry us through the gale.
The older I get the better I know the secret to
my going on,
Is when the reins are in the hands of the
young, who dare to run against the storm.
Not needing to clutch for power, not needing
the light just to shine on me,
I need to be me in the number, as we stand
against tyranny.
Struggling myself dont mean a whole lot,
Ive come to realize,
That teaching others to stand up and fight is
the only way my struggle survives.
ENDLESSLY
(Jerry Irish, We Will Have A School . . .
Louhelen)
ENTHUSIASM IS AN ATTITUDE

Guess I'll walk the Euphrates River
The deep, deep river, the wide, wide river
The long, long river, the Spiritual River
The 'River of Life', the 'River of Life'
CHORUS:
Let the traces linger on,
Many years have come and gone
Oh how lonely man has been
Without a trace of the 'Traceless Friend'
Every day brings us closer
And every night my Soul sees
A troubled mankind suffering blindly
Guess I'll walk the Euphrates River, so

EVERY WONDER
(Jack Lenz & Tony Kosinec, If You Only
Knew)
Well, I don't know what that fire is
That you've kindled in this land
But I see the hearts of my friends ablaze
And I feel your promise is at hand
Well, some people got their heads up straight
Other people got 'em in the sand
But in every way, yes, and everyday
I can feel the coming of man

You can feel the thunder rolling anywhere
you are
Because it's one world,
Every different flag you're under
Blowing in the same wind,
On one planet flying 'round the sun
Every wonder, every wonder,
Every wonder, every wonder
Well, I just can't say what I feel today
'Cause the words, they will not come
Up to my mind from an aching heart
So tired of feeling numb
Some people say that the world's okay
Some say we're under the gun
But in every way, yes, and everyday
Taking aim on the coming of ...

EVERYTHING TO GAIN
(The Reggae Project)
No one can take these days away
When all is said and done
This love will survive
As long as we're alive
And in the world to come
It's only the stainless deeds
That we carry beyond the grave
So nothing else matters to me
We've got nothing to lose
And everything to gain
All of our dreams,
Things we hear and see
As we travel down the road
They mean the world to me
We're makin' history
There'll be forests

(Words by the Bb)
I beg Thee to forgive me, O my Lord,
For every mention but the mention of Thee,
And for every praise but the praise of Thee,
And for every delight but delight in Thy
nearness,
And for every pleasure but the pleasure of
communion with Thee,
And for every joy but the joy of Thy love
and of Thy good-pleasure,
And for all things pertaining unto me
Which bear no relationship unto Thee,
O Thou Who art the Lord of lords,
He Who provideth the means and unlocketh
the doors.
FORGOTTEN
(Grant Hindin Miller, Afar)
The cell was like a kennel, they dropped him
like a dog
Staring at cold metal, in a blurred and
darkened fog
Plucked from his own work-place, innocent
of crime
Taken, shaken, in the late daylight
The prison was a chasm, wind was in the
yard
They took him out an hour each day, herded
by the guards
Shuffling over concrete, with the other
inmates there
Not allowed to speak in open air
And the iron bars, dark and hard, spiderwebbed, human cage
Especially when evening came, they drilled
into his brain
Left alone in shadow, not knowing noon
from night
Mealtimes infrequent, rudimentary slop
The cell was cramped, inhuman, with a
never-ending smell
He tried to pray, but every day, his thoughts
went to himself
I'm forgotten, I'm forsaken, I've been left
here on my own
I'm forgotten, I'm forsaken, left here to die
alone
Cut off from his family, cut off from his
friends
Where was Baha'u'llah, now he needed Him
Even Abdu'l-Baha, neglected where he was
He felt his consciousness slip down - to the
abyss
Y 'Aliyu'l 'Al
[O Highest of the Most
High, O Exalted of the Most Supreme]
Y Bah'u'l-Abh [O Thou the Glory of
the Most Glorious]
CHORUS
FORT TABARS
(Jeanne R. Murday, Unity in Diversity)
From Fort Tabars they rode, they rode
From Fort Tabars they rode.
CHORUS:
They raised the clarion call
Y Shibu'z-Zamn [O Lord of the Age]
Y Shibu'z-Zamn
To the Glory of God they raised the cry
CHORUS
From Nayrz they rode, they rode
From Nayrz they rode, they rode
FOUNTAIN OF GENEROSITY
(Mildred McClellan, Sharing Circles Songs
for Kids)
Be a fountain,
Be a spring,
Be an ever-flowing thing.
It is true that if you do,
Happiness will come to you.
CHORUS:
Search your heart every day.
Is there something you can give away?
Happiness should be your goal,
Give your heart
And give your soul.
It is true that if you do,
God will always be with you. (Repeat 2)
CHORUS
FOUR KINGDOMS
(Nancy Ward, We Want to Grow Up)
Dirt, dirt, dirt
It lies around the world
It can't get up and chase you
When you run, when you run.
And if you ever wonder
What lies under the sidewalk:
Dirt, dirt, dirt.
Plants, plants, plants
Dirt is full of plants
Trees and grass and flowers and potatoes
(FAST) and tomatoes and rhubarb and
rutabagas
(FAST) and peas and dandelions and spinach
They can't get up and run
Because they all grow to the sun, sun
Plants, plants, plants
Animals, animals, animals
Big and little animals
Cats and dogs and horses and cows
(FAST) and lions and tigers and foxes and
chickens
(FAST) and monkeys and spiders and gorillas
(FAST) and elephants and crocodiles
Some eat plants and some eat other animals,
yum, yum
Animals, animals, animals. ROAR!
People, people, people
The world is full of people
Mommies and daddies and Mikey and Jordan
(FAST) and Eric and Kathleen and Bridget
and Caitlin
(FAST) and Jared and Carolyn and Uncle Joe
and
(FAST) Aunt Marsha and Grandpa Ted and
Nana Mary

FRAGRANCES OF SUMMER
(Beverly Ruhe, Flight)
CHORUS:
Fragrances of summer fill the air.
Rainbow trout leap to the sky, slip back to
the sea.
Melodies of Bah'u'llh brighten the night.
Cocoons become butterflies as the dawn
breaks
From twilight, from twilight.
Gems hidden in your soul you find day by
day.
Dreams of forgotten time become reality.
Whippoorwills sing merrily to pine trees and
lilacs.
Bah'u'llh is the new Sun.
His radiance bathes our hearts in love, in
love.
I am but a tiny seed, sown in His Love
I am but a tiny bird singing of His Glory.
The Day of Unity has come. Wake up, my
brothers!
Bah'u'llh is the new Sun.
His Revelation unites mankind.
CHORUS
FREEDOM
(Marina DeMerritt, Sheet music in Spinstar
Music Collection 1)
Free, where can I feel free
Like the wind gliding through the trees,
Like the bird soaring by the sea?
What's right for me?
Free, where can I feel free
To speak out if I disagree
Or to choose to live differently?
Where can I flee?
Freedom, a mournful sound
For so many it's never found
Where is the road to take
That's freedom bound?
Why, how I wonder why
The clouds can go sailing by
And the sun crosses o'er the sky?
They've gone, should I?
Why, how I wonder why
Greedy men think that I should die
It's their lives that are one great lie.
I sigh, I cry
Freedom, a mournful sound
For so many it's never found
Where is the road to take
That's freedom bound?
Fight, I must always fight
As a seed pushes toward the light
As a vine clings with all its might
Alone, I fight
Fight, I must always fight,
Til my child is not filled with fright
And she sleeps peacefully at night
Freedom's her right
Freedom, a joyful sound
Where laughter and song abound
FREEDOM SKY
(Phil Lukas & Richard Monka, Sheet Music
in A New Wind Blowing)
CHORUS:
Mount your steeds, O heroes of man,
And ride toward the freedom sky.
Mount your steeds, O heroes of man,
And ride toward the freedom sky.
Freedom sky.
A million years or more have gone
Since man first listened to that freedom song.
CHORUS
Two thousand years and a great loud cry
That man ride faster toward that freedom

Sev'ral hundred years and a painful sigh
That man forget his journey t'ward that sky.

FRIENDLINESS
(Jennifer Russell, The Virtues Songs)
CHORUS:
Friendliness is the best cure for loneliness
FROM A DISTANCE
(Julie Gold, Bette Midler: Experience the
Divine Greatest Hits)
From a distance, the world looks blue and
green
And the snow-capped mountains, white
From a distance, the ocean meets the stream
And the eagle takes to flight
From a distance, there is harmony
And it echoes through the land
It's the voice of hope, it's the voice of peace
It's the voice of every man
From a distance, we all have enough
And no one is in need
And there are no guns, no bombs, and no
disease
No hungry mouths to feed
From a distance, we are instruments
Marching in a common band
Playing songs, of hope, playing songs of
peace
CHORUS
But then in 1863 a Bb of much fame
In the Garden of Ridvn, near Baghdad, did
proclaim
That He was the Promised One foretold by
The Bb,
And henceforth He was known as
Bah'u'llh,
The Glory of God.
CHORUS
Bah'u'llh was banished again and again,
By jealous leaders of religion and
government.
And yet there came forth boundless wisdom
from His mighty pen.
And words of guidance for an ailing world,
and the teaching of men.
CHORUS
His followers throughout the land were
known as Bah's
And for the Blessed Beauty they freely gave
their lives
The teachings of Bah'u'llh were spread
throughout the world
And now His Word is known, and the
Standard of His Cause unfurled.
CHORUS
FUND SONG
(Greg Dahl, Canta esa meloda/Sing this
Melody)
CHORUS:
Give a little penny or a nickel,
Give whatever you can afford,
Give a little something for Bah'u'llh,
Sacrifice for your Lord.
CHORUS
It takes a little money to travel,
To spread the word of God to every town,
It takes a little money to buy pamphlets,
You've got to sacrifice all around.
CHORUS
Not everyone can do public speaking,
Appear on radio or TV,
But everyone can give a little something,
Even you and me.
CHORUS
Bah's in every town get together
Every nineteen days at the Feast.
That's a very good time to make a
contribution.
Give a penny at least.
CHORUS
GARDEN OF PARADISE
(Dale W. Ramsdell)
When the Muslim and the Jew can realize
that they're the same
That the only real difference is the sound of a
name
When the Christian and the Indian finally see
eye to eye
Then the trail of broken treaties will yield
peace by and by.
When the Buddhist and the Hindu can
embrace each other's views
GARDEN OF RIDVN
(Words: James Seals, Music: James Seals,
Jack Lenz & Kingsley Thurber, Oratorio,
Music of the Bah' World Congress)
SPOKEN:
O Bah'u'llh, where was the Spirit of God
leading?
Baghdad in its grief became the city of Your
love, O Exiled One:
Baghdad, glowing with the flame of Your
love, flowing with the tears of Your pain,
its waters burning.
GENTLE WARRIOR
(Words and music by Kate Wolf, Angela
Wood: Horizons)
Gentle warrior with your heart like gold
And a rainbow in your eyes
Brave companion, Do you see the world
shining in the skies
With your body dancing like an arrow
Spreading joy beneath your feet
And your hands that wave like tall grass
In the wind as you speak
With the shyness of a small child
And the wisdom of a sage
I tell you now, there's no reason to be afraid
Brother warriors there are none of us who
walk this path alone
Spirit healers, it's the only life we have ever
known
I see your smile in the sunlight
I hear your song in the rain
And I hold you here inside me
I feel your love, I know your pain
At this time when the world is waking, to the
dawn of another age
I tell you now there is no reason to be afraid
We are crying for a vision
That all living things can share
And those who care, are with us everywhere.
GENTLENESS
(Jennifer Russell, The Virtues Songs)
CHORUS:
Gentleness is moving wisely
Touching softly, holding carefully
Gentleness is speaking quietly
Thinking kindly and with love
We are sensitive creatures
And our feelings can be hurt
When we're gentle with each other
It brings peacefulness to the earth
CHORUS
Animals and people are
Safe around me
Because I practice gentleness
I take time out when
I'm upset or hurt
I learn to control myself
CHORUS
GET UP
(Doug Cameron, If You Only Knew)
Straight now, what's the answer
Everything we say and do
Straight now, give me the answer
Everything is up to me and you
Feel it right, what's inside of you
Love is right, everything we say and do
CHORUS:
Get up (and move)
(4 TIMES)
Why are we silent when we can shout?
(Shout)
Why are we silent? Cry out!
CHORUS:
Getting to know you,
Getting to know all about you,
Getting to like you,
Getting to hope you like me.
Getting to know you,
Putting it my way, but nicely,
You are precisely
My cup of tea!
Getting to know you,
Getting to feel free and easy
When I am with you,
Getting to know what to say.
Haven't you noticed?
Suddenly I'm bright and breezy
Because of all the beautiful and new
Things I'm learning about you
Day by day.
CHORUS
GLAD TIDINGS
Oh my God, oh my God
Unite the hearts of Thy servants
Unite the hearts of Thy servants

GOD SUFFICETH
Based on a prayer by The Bb (Music: Tom
Price, Songs of the Ancient Beauty & Lift Up
Your Voices and Sing, Vol. 2)
Say: God sufficeth all things above all
things,
and nothing in the heavens or the earth
but God sufficeth.
Verily, He is in Himself the Knower,
Sustainer,
the Omnipotent.
GODS CREATURES
(Wiley Rinaldi, Sharing Circles Songs for
Kids)
The creatures of this big world,
Whether they walk or fly, or fly,
Are part of Gods creation
Like you and I.
CHORUS:
Thats why we treat them with kindness.
Remember when you do, you do.
To care for Gods creation
Brings blessings to you.
The dog on our front door step,
He is our faithful friend, our friend.
We also thank our milk cow
And bees in the wind.
CHORUS
The donkey carries his burden,
The kitty purrs on our lap, our lap,
And the bird sings sweetly
When we take our nap.
CHORUS
GOING TO MY GARDEN
(Dave & Helene Van Manen, We Recycle)
In the springtime when the snow
Has melted all away
GOOD NEIGHBORS
(Richard Grover, Canta esa meloda, Sing
this Melody)
CHORUS:
Good neighbors come in all colors
Red, black, yellow and tan,
Our outsides may be different,
But we belong to the family of man.
When my doorbell starts to ring
I can't see the ringer's skin.
Even if he had bright blue skin
I'd welcome him right in.
CHORUS
When my neighbor starts to cry
It hurts him, and that hurts I
Even if he has orange eyes
It hurts him when cries.
CHORUS
When my neighbor wants to share
Joy and happiness everywhere
Even if he had purple hair
I wouldn't even care.
CHORUS
GRANT ME PEACE!
CHORUS:
Oh, Lord, I've got some teaching to do.
Oh, Lord, I've got some teaching to do.
Oh, Lord, I've got some teaching to do.
Don't you call me, Lord, too soon!
Got to live the life in the East and West
So the world will see that the Faith is best.
Got to let the world know this Faith is true.
Oh, Lord, I've got some teaching to do.
Live it in the swamps and where the birch
trees grow.
Live it in the hills and the valleys down
below.
Live it with the Christian, Moslem and Jew.
Oh, Lord, I've got some teaching to do.
Live it in the valleys where the tall grass
grows.
Live it in the jungle where the elephant goes.
Live it right and live it true.
Oh, Lord, I've got some teaching to do.
Live it by the waterfall, with its misty
shroud.
Live it in the farmlands that the hand of man
has plowed.
The masses are waiting the day and night
through.
Oh, Lord, I've got some teaching to do.
CHORUS:
Grant me peace! Give me calmness at this
time of the day
Help all of the tension that's built up fade
away
Guide my search to the center to that
stillness within
Where I'm bathed in Your light and
refreshed once again.
When I'm mixin' with some people who are
rude and ego-ruled
When I listen to complainers or to those who
have been fooled
When I hear of cruel sufferings besetting
other men
I try to clear my head and repeat these words
again
CHORUS
When the deadlines at the office have me
pullin' out my hair
When the boss expects some magic or a
more creative flair
When I'm feeling' pulled apart by demands
upon my time
I try to take a breath and repeat this prayerful
rhyme
CHORUS
GREAT DAY
Bah'u'llh's getting us ready
For that Great Day.
Bah'u'llh's getting us ready
For that Great Day.
Bah'u'llh's getting us ready
For that Great Day.
Oh, Bah'u'llh, the Glory of God.
CHORUS:
Great Day, Great Day, Great Day, Great Day
The sun will shine on all mankind
Soon as my feet strike Zion.
Gonna' lay down my heavy burden.
Gonna' put on my robe of glory,
Shout to tell the story!
Soon as all the people get together
We're going to have a good time!
Oh, Bah'u'llh, the Glory of God.
The Bb was the Gate to the Glory of God,
Who opened up the way.
The Bb was the Gate to the Glory of God,
Who opened up the way.
The Bb was the Gate to the Glory of God,
Who opened up the way.
Oh, Bah'u'llh, the Glory of God.
'Abdu'l-Bah, the Perfect Example,
Shows us the way . . .
You and I and everybody
Can work and play . . .
CHORUS:
Great is Thy faithfulness! Great is Thy
faithfulness!
Morning by morning new mercies I see;
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided;
Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me!
Summer and winter, and springtime and
harvest,
Sun, moon and stars in their courses above
Join with all nature in manifold witness
To Thy great faithfulness, mercy and love.
CHORUS
Pardon for sin and peace that endureth,
Thine own dear presence to cheer and to
guide;
Strength for today and bright hope for
tomorrow,
Blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside!
Growing up is hard to do
Mommy remembers that it was hard, too
But even though it's hard at times
Dad says you're trying and doing just fine
I decided
And if by chance, that special place
That youve been dreaming of
Leads you to a lonely place
Find your strength in love.
(INSTRUMENTAL)
GROWING UP
(Jean Marks & Susan Engle, Loving Hands)
Growing up is hard to do
You're always changing your socks and
shoes
And what's even worse than that,
Once you get bigger, you cannot go back
CHORUS:
Growing up is hard to do
When will you tie your own shoes?
This growing up business just gives me the
blues
Growing up is hard to do
Every minute you learn something new
You know what's even worse by far,
Mommy won't let you play her guitar
Growing up is hard to do
When do you spell your own name?
When will these letters stop looking the
same?
CHORUS
Growing up is hard to do
Someday you will have a son
You'll show him that
Growing up can be fun

Happy Naw-Rz, every calling bell we
should ring!

He is my day in night
My battles He will fight
He is all, God is all

When God sent down the law
Moses showed the way to man
God's Light was here again
CHORUS:

HIDDEN WORD
Based on Excerpts from Hidden Word,
Persian #11 by Bah'u'llh
(Music: Susan Engle, Come and Sing)
O Son of Dust! Blind thine eyes to all save
My beauty;
O Son of Dust! Stop thine eyes to all save
My word;
Empty thyself of all learning
save the knowledge of Me;
that with clear vision, an attentive ear
and a pure heart thou mayest
enter into the court of My holiness.
HIDDEN WORDS
Bah'u'llh, Arabic #9 and #33
(Music by D. K. Barbre, S. Gandomi & S.
King, Flight)
'O SON OF BEING! My love is My
stronghold; he that entereth therein is safe
and secure, and he that turneth away shall
surely stray and perish.
HIGH HOPES
(Words by Sammy Cahn, Music by James
Van Heusen, Fred Penner A House For Me)
The next time you're found
With your chin on the ground
There's a lot to be learned
Just look around.
Just what makes that little old ant
Think he'll move that rubber tree plant
Anyone knows an ant can't
Move a rubber tree plant
But he's got high hopes,
He's got high hopes
He's got high apple pie in the sky hopes
So anytime you're getting low
'Stead of letting go
Just remember that ant
Oops! There goes another rubber tree plant
Now once there was a silly old ram
Thought he'd punch a hole in a dam
No one could make that ram scram
He kept butting that dam
'Cause he had high hopes
He had high hopes
He had high apple pie in the sky hopes
So anytime you're feeling bad
'Stead of getting sad
Just remember that ram
Oops! There goes a billion kilowatt dam
A problem's just a toy balloon
They'll be bursting soon
They're just bound to go pop
Oops! There goes another rubber tree
CHORUS
The heart is a treasure,
A gift beyond measure,
A bounty from your Lord.
Protect it from the fire
Of worldly desire,
And freely let it soar.
HOLLOW REED
(Jim Seals & Dash Crofts, Seals & Crofts
Down Home)
CHORUS
People need
All kinds of things
Like help with a big job
Or a friend listening
CHORUS
I am a grain of sand
Your love within me
It's something I can't earn and I can't buy
It rains on every man - oh, God, befriend me
How can I praise You - who am I
I see You in the morning
I see You in the night
I see You in the stars and in the noonday
bright
I see You in the creatures
And when I face the sky
God, how can I praise You - Lord who am I
God, how can I praise You - Lord who am I

I AM WITH YOU
Based on words of 'Abdu'l-Bah
(Jean Marks, Loving Hands)
Bridges may fall, and forests may burn.
After it all, I hope you may learn
That I'm with you all, for always.
I'll never leave you, ever.
The sun is always shining,
And you'll be in my heart.
Nations may fight, and many may die,
And though it's hard to understand why,
I'll be with you all, for always.
I'll never leave you, ever.
Oh, the sun is always shining,
And you'll be in my heart.
Don't be afraid of changing
Call on me to guide your thoughts
If you fall, I will be there.
I will lift you up to the sky, and above.
So, if tragedy strikes, and misery moans,
Just look inside - you're never alone.
I am with you all, for always.
I'll never leave you, ever.
Oh, the sun is always shining,
And you'll be in, you'll be in,
You'll be in my heart, my heart.

I CHOOSE EXCELLENCE
(EXCELLENCE)
(Jennifer Russell, The Virtues Songs)

Little by little, day by day
Guided by Spirit's excellence
So my gifts can bear fruit in the world
As I give the best I have to give
Effort guided by noble purpose
CHORUS:
I choose excellence in all things
I choose excellence in all things
I think God for my gifts
In all things
I choose excellence in all things
When I start something new
I first make a plan
I dare to set noble goals
I don't try to do everything
With excellence I do things all the way
I never quit, I develop my gifts
And always accomplish something

And hugs that make me realize
I like you!

When the going gets tough
I ask for help when I need it

I LIVE IN A CITY
CHORUS:
I live in a city, yes, I do
I live in a city, yes, I do

All together built this town.
Black hands, white hands, yellow and brown
All together make the wheels go 'round.

I love waking up so early in the morning,
with the sun shining in my face.
I love waking up so early in the morning to
see your amazing grace.
Seems its been going on for so long,
Tell me the secret of your happiness, Tell
me the wisdom of the dawn.
Seems theres a special gift to all those who
wake to greet the hour
Lift themselves, hello the luscious light, the
first to catch the bud of the flower.
Such a calm besets the earth at this twilight
of the morn
Such a shimmering of warmth is like coming
home to a fire in a hearth
After a long cold journey in the snow.

I say what I mean
I mean what I say
I am honest
I tell the truth
With kindness and tact

I WOULD FLY
(Solomon Atkins, Flight)
Birds perched upon a tree,
Calling me to unity . . .
If I ever had the time, I would fly. I would
fly.
World crumbles beneath my feet,
Agony is all I see.
Broken-winged bird sings of love and peace,
Recalling how the world should be.
If I ever had the time, I would fly. I would
fly.
Strife and hate, the battle cry,
Men in war, they fight and die Fighting and suffering to make men free,
Is this the way to true liberty?
If I ever had the time, I would fly. I would
fly.
I'M LUCKY
(Red & Kathy Grammer, Can You Sound
Just Like Me?)
The great big wheel goes 'round and 'round
The sun goes up and the sun goes down
We keep livin' from day to day
I look around and I have to say:
I'm (SHOUT: lucky) lucky, spendin' my life
with you,
You know, I'm (SHOUT: lucky) lucky
And I know we're gonna' make it through
There's noone else in the world like you
And noone does things the way you do
I wouldn't trade you for anything
You bring a smile to my heart and you make
me sing
I'm (SHOUT: lucky) lucky, spendin' my life
with you,
You know, I'm (SHOUT: lucky) lucky
And I know we're gonna' make it through

The Promised One has come.
I'm so glad, I'm so glad
The Glory of God has come.
IF I HAD A HAMMER
(L. Hays and P. Seeger)
If I had a hammer, I'd hammer in the
morning,
I'd hammer in the evening, all over the land.
IF IT BE THY PLEASURE
Prayer by Bah'u'llh
If it be Thy pleasure,
make me to grow as a tender herb
in the meadows of Thy grace,
that the gentle winds of thy will may stir me
up
and bend me into conformity with Thy
pleasure,
in such wise that my movement and my
stillness
may be wholly directed by Thee.
IF WE KNEW
(Grant Hindin Miller, Afar)
If we knew we would yearn, to do the best
we can
IF YOU'RE HAPPY
CHORUS
(INSTRUMENTAL)
So, listen up, children, you know, it won't be
long When you're no longer children
You'll be grown up, big and strong.
You will have the power
To make this world a better place
You can change the whole human race.
Imagine, imagine how the world will be:
People loving you, people loving me.
Imagine, imagine how the world will be.
Imagine a peaceful world.
Imagine a peaceful world.

IN THE GARDEN
(Jean White Marks, Come and Sing)
Won't you come to the garden?
We all sing in the garden.
It's there where our hearts blossom.
Love is so sweet.
We grow like roses wherever we reach;
In the garden, yes, in the garden.
Won't you help make the garden
A wonderful place to be?
It's where we sow seeds of love in our hearts.
There's so many flowers so precious and
beautiful;
In the garden, yes, in the garden.
In the garden, yes, in the garden.

(Mary Steele, Loving Hands)
CHORUS:
Isn't it wonderful we're here together?
Isn't it wonderful to see the sun?
Isn't it wonderful our hearts are open?
Take my hand, my friend, for we are one.
Let us all forget the past.
Let us clear our eyes to see the dawn,
And turn the mirrors of our hearts
Continually to the sun.
CHORUS
IT IS NO SECRET
IT'S SO SIMPLE
(Jim Valley)
Kittens prancing and butterflies dancing
And I'm glancing at the sun.
Birds singing and I'm grinning and
And I've only just begun.
It's so simple. La la
Like a children's song to sing,
It's so simple.
To love one and ev'rything.
Winds blowin' and rivers flowin;
And I'm goin' back to my home.
Underneath the trees with all the birds and
bees,
Won't you now just look and see.
It's so simple. La la
Like a children's song to sing,
It's so simple.
To love one and ev'rything.
CHORUS
Yeah, it's time to move, to raise our voice
Tell mankind we have a choice
World peace depends on me and you
Now is the time, the time to move
JOHNNY IS A CHRISTIAN
(Words: Roberta Christian, Music: Eugene
Babcock, A Bah' Child's Song Book)
Johnny is a Christian, Jacob is a Jew,
Ali is a Muslim, now here's what they can
do.
They can learn to love each other
And love will make them wise
When they understand each other
They'll become Bah's.
JONATHAN
Jonathan, you are a little boy
But you're growing in that good Light
Like a wildflower in the meadow
Reaching for the sunlight.
O Lord he sees and he holds your hand.
O Lord he sees and he holds your hand.
Sarah, she is a little brook
Running in that good Light
And Aaron, he sits so quiet
Till it's his turn.
CHORUS:
And the prayer goes up,
And the hearts are one,
And the souls are free,
And the joy is running on.
O Lord, he sees and he holds your hand.
O Lord, he sees and he holds your hand.
O Lord, he sees and he holds your hand.
O Lord, he sees and he holds your hand.
A thousand children I can see at once
Standing in His good Light
When I look into the eyes of this little one
JOSEPH SONG
(by David Hunt)
We drove in that afternoon, it was a whole
new place to be,
Our eyes filled with wonder at all the new
faces to see.
A couple of introductions and already youve
made a friend,
The first moments may pass you by but the
memories never end.
Chorus:
Dont say good-bye as Im just passing
through,
Just remember this, that no matter what you
do,
Theres a piece of my heart with you.
It just takes a minute or two to feel the power
of unity,
Just a couple of days and we are all one
family.
The experiences Ive had will last a lifetime
long,
The memories string together like the notes
in a nightingales song.
Chorus

CHORUS
Justice is a little more than just being fair.
To be just we have to give,
Share what we have, share what we love.
Share the joy to live.

Faults are many, strengths are few
Not enough time to do what you should
You want to give up, there's so much to do.

KINGDOMS OF GOD
(Merinell Rhine)
I'll sing you a rock. Can it grow? Can it
walk?
Can it do anything but be?
No, it can't grow or walk,
For it's only a rock
In the sand by the side of the sea.
It's in the mineral kingdom,
The mineral kingdom of God.
It's in the mineral kingdom of God.
I'll sing you a tree. Can it walk? Can it see?
Can it grow and bear fruit and be green?
Yes, it surely can grow,
But it can't move or know.
Though it be the best tree you have seen.
It's in the vegetable kingdom,
The vegetable kingdom.

you need to borrow.
For no one can fill those other needs that you
mention.

Ill be your friend, Ill help you carry on,
For, it wont be long til Im gonna need

We all need somebody to lean on.

Do not gossip, do not backbite
You don't always have to be right
Let's bring some peace to the world

LESS OF ME
(Glen Campbell)
Let me be a little kinder, let me be a little
blinder
To the faults of those around me; Let me
praise a little more.
Let me dream when I am weary, just a little
bit more cheery
Think a little more of others and a little less
of me.
Let me be a little braver when temptation
bids me waver.
Let me strive a little harder to be all that I
should be.
Let me be a little meeker with a brother that
is weaker.
Let me think more of my neighbor and a
little less of me.
Let me dream when I am weary, just a little
bit more cheery.
Let me serve a little better those that I am
striving for.
Let me be a little meeker with a brother that
is weaker.
Think a little more of others and a little less
of me.
CHORUS:
REPEAT ALL
LET ME BE A LAMP
(Mrs. Jerald Day)
Let me be a lamp, O Lord,
To show mankind the Way.
Let me shine my light, O Lord,
Through ev'ry precious day.
Let me fill the world with light,
And love will mark the Way.
All through life to serve, O God,
Through ev'ry precious day.
CHORUS
LETTER TO BAHYYIH
Based on words of 'Abdu'l-Bah
(Music: Gregory Shaw)
These days shall pass away,
And we'll forget our cares.
Day and night you live in my memory.
Let sorrow and despair not becloud serenity.
These days shall pass away,
And we'll forget our cares.
Easy not the lot of those who see the Beauty.
But a comfort in your grief I will be
eternally.
These days shall pass away.
A LIFE OF HONOR
(Rose Rene)
What is a life of honor?
It is a life of integrity, it is a life of
righteousness.
To live in the love, to pray from the heart,
To live in the love of Bahaullah.
What is a life of honor?
It is a life of distinction, it is a life of
morality,
To read from the Word, to pray from the
heart,
To read from the Word of Bahaullah.
What is a life of honor?
It is a life of sincerity, it is a life of honesty,
To study the Faith, to pray from the heart,
To study the Faith of Bahaullah.
What is a life of honor?
It is a life of probity, it is a life of piety,
To follow the Law, to pray from the heart,
To follow the Law of Bahaullah.
What is a life of honor?
It is a life of uprightness, it is a life of
respectfulness,
To teach this great Cause, to pray from the
heart,
To teach this great Cause of Bahaullah.
To pray from the heart, to read from the
Word,
To study the Faith, to follow the Law,
To teach this great Cause,
To live in the love of Bahaullah.
LIGHT ON MY HORIZON
(Angela Wood, Horizons)
CHORUS:
There's a light on my horizon
And it's looking down at me
But it seemed that what lay in between
Was the devil and the deep blue sea
You're on your own, the light's for you to
reach it as you may
Don't panic, keep your eyes ahead, just take
it day by day
There seemed no cord to hold me, and it
seemed there never was
Just get out there, you're on your own, your
troubles are all yours
You have this hat that fits you and it covers
up your eyes
It covers up your ears as well, so you cannot
hear the cries. But
CHORUS
There's been empty days behind me, looked
like more empty days to come
They were always there, two steps away, no
matter how fast I ran
Some days I turned to face them, just so
you'd hear me shout
But they always seemed to know I was too
tired to kick them out
CHORUS
LIGHT SONG
Based on Excerpts from Bah'u'llh,
including Hidden Words, Arabic #11
'Thou art My lamp and My light is in thee.'
Turn not your face away from the light.
Hide not yourself in the prison of darkness.
Come unto Me.
Open your heart to the light that I send you.
Reflect that light to all who you meet.
Show them the love that I've sent for your
freedom,
The light of the world to be.
CHORUS:
Lamp, bright light, radiance, light to set you
free
Lamp, bright light, radiance, of the world to
be
Lamp, bright light, radiance, light to set you
free
Lamp, bright light, radiance, of the world to
be
All of the Prophets have carried one
message:
Love one another and all live as one
Nations, religions and rulers shall perish
Until God's will is done
CHORUS
LISTEN
(Red and Kathy Grammer, Teaching Peace)
Listen . . . Can you hear the sound
Hearts beating all the world around
Down in the valley, out on the plain
Everywhere around the world a heartbeat
sounds the same
Black or white, red or tan
It's the heart of the family of man
Whoa, it's beating away
Whoa, it's beating away
Whoa, it's beating away

Where you don't have to wear a mask
Are you looking for a place
Where life is fun and not a task
CHORUS:

Find a home that's forever more
Where you're warm and safe and no fears

You can talk all you want, make it sound
nice and sweet,
But the words have an empty ring,
And they don't really mean a thing,
CHORUS:
Without Him love is not to be found, not to
be found;
For love is surrender, love is surrender to His
will.
Love is surrender to His will.
Love is surrender to His will.
Sing about love and the strength it can give

I give up, I give up on hate! I give up on
hate!

LOVE'S LULLABY
(Jerry Irish, We Will Have A School . . .
Louhelen)
We are alive in His arms tonight.
God will send an angel to our sides Softly He will sing
And shelter your best dreams.
Dreams are when the angels sing to you!
The light in your eyes helps me find the way
To say the words that mean I love you
And I know that too many things
Have stood in our way
But now we are carrying
A child to gild our day!
LOVING HANDS
(Jean Marks, Loving Hands)
(INTRODUCTION)
CHORUS:
Loyalty is the guardian of my soul
It sets my heart on things that matter
It keeps me faithful to my friends and family
I'm loyal to God, I am secure
Stand by what you believe in
Listen closely to your heart
Be careful and choose wisely
Loyalty keeps safe your heart
LULLABY
(Susan Engle and Jean White, Special Times)
CHORUS:
Open your eyes. Open your eyes.
The stars are all glowing.
The moon's on the rise.
If neighbors weren't sleeping,
they'd all see the light from the homes of
Bah's getting up in the night.
Waking up in the wee early hours of the day
to gather together, to sing and to pray.
So open your eyes now, my little Bah',
the Holy Day hour is nigh.
CHORUS
Now quietly, softly, we'll walk down the
stairs.
We'll welcome the friends as we gather for
prayers.
O isn't it special, my little Bah'?
The Holy Day hour is nigh.
MAGIC PENNY
(Music & lyrics by Melvina Reynolds)
CHORUS:
Love is something if you give it away,
Give it away, give it away,
You end up having more!
Love is like a magic penny -
MAID OF HEAVEN
Words revealed by Bah'u'llh
(Music: Graham Major, Songs of the Ancient
Beauty - Vol. II, Music of the Bah' World
Congress)
SPOKEN:
O Bah'u'llh, what has God done?
In the stench-filled gloom You turned Your
face
and beheld a Maiden suspended in the air,
Her finger pointed to Your head.
New creation rejoiced in Your soul,
O Prisoner in chains.
Through You the Maiden addressed us:
'By God! This is the Best Beloved of the
worlds'.
'By God! This is the Best Beloved of the
worlds,
and yet ye comprehend not.
This is the Beauty of God amongst you,
and the Power of His sovereignty,'
'His sovereignty within you,'
'could ye but understand.'
'could ye but understand.
This is the Mystery of God and His
Treasure, the Cause of God
and His glory' (Ah-ah -ah . . .)
'unto all who are in the Kingdoms'
. . . .'the Kingdoms of Revelation
and of creation, if ye be of them that
perceive.'
To guidance come
Come ye for harmony
To behold the Star of Day
Come ye for kindliness for ease
Come ye for amity and peace
Come and cast down your weapons of wrath
'Til unity is won
Come and in the Lord's true path
MAKE HASTE
Words by 'Abdu'l-Bah
(Music: Sean O'Rourke, Angela Wood:
Horizons, Sheet music in The Bah'
Songbook, vol. 1)
CHORUS
MAKE ME AN INSTRUMENT OF
YOUR PEACE
MAKE ME FEARLESS
(Words and music by Rose McCoy)
CHORUS:
Make me fearless, like a jungle lion,
Like a roaring ocean, like an eagle in flight.
Make me fearless, like Mulla Husayn,
Like Tahirih, like Abdul-Baha.
So many times I wonder what I can do
The Cause has so many goals to be won
Wonder how I can help.
But Bahaullah tells me that I am special
When I turn to the light of Baha
I can be like a shining star.
CHORUS
Abdul-Baha was never afraid to be
different
Never afraid to be strong and kind
Never afraid to love.
And Abdul-Baha was always a source of
comfort,
Always a joy to the hearts of the friends
Always ready to serve.
CHORUS:
Oh, 'Abdu'l-Bah,
You're everything I want to be
You opened up my eyes to see
That this is how the world should be.
That this is how the world should be.
(INSTRUMENTAL)
CHORUS
CHORUS
Bah'u'llh, Bah'u'llh
Can you use me?
MAKE OF ME A LANTERN
(Lynette Hopkins)
CHORUS:
And they called Him Abraham.
Some called Him Zoroaster.
Then there was Krishna, Moses, and
Buddha, too.
Many knew Him as Jesus the Christ,
Mohammad or The Bb,
But today, they call Him Bah'u'llh,
The Glory of God
Well, His Words were full of wisdom,
And His eyes, they were full of light.
A MAN OF PERSIA
(Joel Caverly, Sheet Music in A New Wind
Blowing)
There was once a Man of Persia
Who proclaimed the Promised Day,
He went forth to teach the people,
All who'd hear along the way.
But His life was full of pain,
Freezing cold, prison gloom.
Still His Word spread far and wide,
Cheering hearts. Ah . . .
O that holy Man of Persia
CHORUS:
Mankind is one.
The earth is one country.
Ye are the leaves of one branch,
The fruits of one tree.
Mankind is one.
The earth is one country.
Ye are the leaves of one branch,
The fruits of one tree.
CHORUS
MANKIND IS ONE
Based on words of Bah'u'llh
(Susan Engle, Loving Hands)
MASTER DESIGNER
(Kurt Kaiser, Tell It Like It Is)
Cotton candy clouds, so fluffy and white,
Who put you there in a sky of deep blue?
Or do you just happen to float along,
Pretty and white in a sky so blue,
so blue, sky so blue?
Tall mountain, deep valley, fast river, cool
stream,
MATADOR
(Gordi Munro, Steve Farrel, Unity in
Diversity)
Don't you worry 'bout a thing
Despair is coming to an end
He has come again and the sword of glory
has been thrust
No need to hesitate, let us cheer on with the
crowd
There was once a time when the bulls were
running free
Through blatant city streets which knew no
harmony
Then came the Matador inspired by our need
Dressed in swords from Heaven, His purpose
to bring peace
CHORUS:
Make me one, make me wonder
Make me wonder, make me one
The Matador keeps on trying
And the crowd cheers on for more
CHORUS
CHORUS
MEADOWLARK
(Paul Parrish, Parrish & Toppano - The
Shores of This Great Ocean)
Meadowlark, in the dark,
Singing your heart out on a limb;
Lost in a windy night,
Waiting for light,
Longing for a flight.
Meadowlark, in the dark,
Singing your heart out for no one,
Waiting for the break of day.
And when it comes,
You'll fly away.
But here you linger, here you'll stay
'Til you fly away.
Just like the ways of man.
Dreams still untold,
CHORUS
MESSENGER OF JOY
(Andrew Pemberton-Pigott, Feast at My
House)
A Messenger, a Messenger, a Messenger of
joy
The Messenger has come to call
The way that He will come for all
CHORUS:

Tell me then why do you grieve?
Don't hide, don't hide away
A Messenger, a Messenger, a Messenger of
joy
A Messenger, a Messenger, a Messenger of
joy
CHORUS

Ev'ry eye has seen, ev'ry ear has heard,
Heaven's gates resound with God's New
Holy Word.
Bah'u'llh, Bah'u'llh

Thru the pow'r unleashed the mighty ones

MIDNIGHT PRAYER
Prayer by 'Abdu'l-Bah (Gary Sterling, Rose
Garden)
Spoken:
O seeker of Truth! If thou desirest that God
may open thine eye, thou must supplicate
unto God, pray to and commune with Him
at midnight, saying:
O Lord, I have turned my face unto Thy
kingdom of oneness and am immersed in
the sea of Thy mercy.
O Lord, enlighten my sight by beholding
Thy lights in this dark night, and make me
happy by the wine of Thy love in this
wonderful age.
O Lord, make me hear Thy call, and open
before my face the doors of Thy heaven,
so that I may see the light of Thy glory and
become attracted to Thy beauty.
Verily, Thou art the Giver, the Generous, the
Merciful, the Forgiving.
The Forgiving, the Forgiving, the Forgiving,
The Forgiving, the Forgiving, the Forgiving,
The Forgiving, the Forgiving.

MONDAY AFTERNOON
(Paul Parrish, Parrish & Toppano - The
Shores of This Great Ocean)
Monday afternoon, the 2nd day of June
The radio is tuned and pretty soon
I'll be coming through. Monday afternoon,
On the 2nd day of June, all alone.
Never been so all alone, so far away from
home.
I'm really on my own, no telephone
To talk to you; Monday afternoon,
On the 2nd day of June on the moon.
Late last night into the eastern sky
There rose a carnival below;
They tell me that's my home,
Yet I could not find my room.
Do they know, can machines be made to
show
Them that their man upon the moon
Only longs to be back home reading in his
room?
I used to choose the dark, the lonely reaches
of space.
Now I only choose to reach a hand,
To touch your face again.
Tuesday afternoon won't come a day too
soon.
Rocket engine's tuned, pretty soon
I'll be home with you. I'm lining up the stars
Just to get back where you are, on Mars.
CHORUS
MORNING PRAYER
Based on prayer by Bah'u'llh
(Music: Susan Engle, Come and Sing & We
are Bah's)
I have wakened in Thy shelter,
O my God, and it becometh him
that seeketh that shelter
to abide within the Sanctuary of Thy
protection
and the Stronghold of Thy (of Thy) defense.
Illumine my inner being,
O my Lord, with the splendors of
the Dayspring of Thy Revelation,
even as Thou didst illumine my outer being
with the morning light (ECHO)
of Thy favor. (ECHO)
(with the morning light) (ECHO)

MORNING SONG
(Marina DeMerritt, Sheet music in Spinstar
Music Collection 1)
When I wake up in the morning and I open
my eyes
I stretch my muscles and I realize
I've got the whole day before me
I can make it be
full of sunny blue skies and sweet melodies,
sweet melodies
When I wake up in the morning and I say my
prayers
I get the feeling that someone cares
Someone's watching over me to see what I
do
Someone's there to lift me up if I feel blue
Someone's always there
So when I wake up in the morning, I am
unafraid
I've got my goals and my plans have been
made
I'm gonna spread some joy and plant some
seeds
I'm gonna make the world better with each
small deed
Now how about you?
MOUNT YOUR STEEDS
(Eddied Byrne, Sheet music in Bah'
Songbook, Vol. 1)
CHORUS:
Mount your steeds, oh heroes of God
Ride hard into the night
Don't stop until the break of day
Mount your steeds and ride!
There will be people waiting for you
Who you have never seen before
Go give them his message
Bestow His riches on the poor
When you ride beyond the stars
To where no mortal man has been
You can rejoice with happiness
As you realize your dream
CHORUS
Think of the early martyrs
And how they gave their lives so free
They were like moths going to a candle
Now it's up to you and me
We have no need of rest
Sleep will just no come
Your only reason for living
Is to see his will is done
MY HOUSE
(Red & Kathy Grammer, Can You Sound
Just Like Me?)
I live in a house, I live in a house
If you wanna get in or you wanna get out
That's what my front door's about
So come on now and follow me, into my
house
I live in a house, I live in a house
My house has windows so I can see
The sunshine come shinin' in on me
I can watch the birds singin' out on the tree
I look at them, they look back at me in my
house
I live in a house, I live in a house
And in my house, there's a kitchen
And in my kitchen there's a 'frigerator
The 'frigerator keeps my milk ice cold
When I wanna pour it on my Cheerios in the
morning
I live in a house, I live in a house
And in my house I have my room
And in my room, what do I see?
I see my bed, where I go to sleep in the
evening
And next to my bed is my dresser tall
MY LOVE IS MY STRONGHOLD

Is safe and secure,
And he that turneth away
Shall surely stray and perish.
O Son of Being,
My love is My stronghold.

MY POCKETS
(Lysa A. Parker)
CHORUS:
My planet 'tis of thee
Sweet land of liberty
Of thee I sing
Let freedom ring
Every night I have this dream
I keep on trying to find what it means.
I'm in a circle looking out,
Surrounded by circles all about.
First I see just me looking around,
Then my family and my town.
Next my state and the whole country'
And all on a planet with you and me.

NOAH'S ARK
(Traditional)
Old Noah, he built himself an ark;
There's one more river to cross.
There's one more river,
And that wide river is Jordan,
There's one more river,
There's one more river to cross.
He built it out of hick'ry bark'
There's one more river to cross.
There's one more river,
And that wide river is Jordan,
There's one more river,
There's one more river to cross.
The animals went in one by one; . . .
The elephant chewing a caraway bun; . . .
The animals went in two by two; . . .
The rhinoceros and the kangaroo; . . .
The animals went in three by three; . . .
The bear, the bug and the bumble bee; . . .
The animals went in four by four; . . .
The hippopotamus stuck in the door; . . .
The animals went in five by five; . . .
It's raining, said Noah, so look alive! . . .
The animals went in six by six; . . .
The monkeys cut up monkey tricks, . . .
The animals went in sev'n by sev'n; . . .
Said the ant to the elephant, Who are you
shovin'? . . .
The animals went in eight by eight; . . .
That's 'nuff, said Noah, and slammed the
gate; . . .
And as they talked of this and that; . . .
The ark, it bumped on Ararat; . . .
NOONDAY PRAYER
Bah'u'llh, Prayer
(Music: Susan Engle, Come and Sing)
I bear witness, O my God,
that Thou hast created me
to know Thee and to worship Thee.
I testify, at this moment,
to my powerlessness and to Thy might,
to my poverty and to Thy wealth.
There is none other God but Thee,
the Help in Peril, the Self-Subsisting.
NOSES
(R. Dutch, Rosenshontz Tickles You)
Noses come in many shapes and sizes.
Some get laughs and some win beauty prizes.
Some turn up, some turn down.
Some go to the side.
Some are long, some are narrow
Some are short and wide.
But they're not there to be good lookin', uh
uh.
They're there to let you know what's cookin'.

Bring us together in unity, bring us together

We are angels of fire and snow, we see the
light and away we go,
O God!
Educate these children.
These children are the plants of Thine
orchard,
the flowers of Thy meadow,
the roses of Thy garden.
Let Thy rain fall upon them;
let the Sun of Reality shine upon them with

Free thyself from the fetters of this world,
loose thy soul from the prison of self.
Seize thy chance, seize thy chance!

Didst thou behold a sovereignty immortal,
thou wouldst strive to pass from this world,
fleeting world, fleeting world!
O my servant! O my servant!
Be not content with the ease of a passing
day,
be not deprived of everlasting rest.
Trade not the garden of eternal delight
for the dust-heap of a mortal world.
Up from thy prison ascend unto glory,
Up from thy prison ascend unto glory,
and from thy mortal cage wing thy flight,
O my servant!
O MY SON
(Jean Marks, Loving Hands)
O, my son, you're a wonder.
It's no wonder that I love you so.

You're a ray from the sun
Let's go along now

I obey my parents
And my teachers too
If I need to question authority
I do it very respectfully
I do what I'm asked to do
By my family, my teachers,
My country and my faith
Obedience is playing by the rules
It keeps things fair and keeps me safe
When I listen to God's guidance
That place within me that know what is right
I have the courage to stand in confidence
For what is true and bring darkness to light
CHORUS
When I step out of obedience
OBEDIENCE
(Lyrics & music by Stefan Brown,
Troubadour Music @98)
Listen to what your teachers say
Dont go coming late to school missed the bus along the way
Dont you know the golden rule of
obedience?
yeah yeah yeah ... of obedience, yeah yeah
yeah,
Always let obedience - be your guide my
friend
Use your will power to follow the rules
Even though you feel like a fool
Know that your friends can trust you in the
end
Because of your obedience yeah yeah yeah ... of obedience, yeah yeah
yeah
yeah yeah yeah ... of obedience, yeah yeah
yeah
Always let obedience ... Be your guide my
friend
Listen to what your parents said
Say your prayers then into bed
Morning comes a brand new day
I wanna hear the children say
Were practicing obedience - yeah yeah yeah

The tiger is sleeping, his teeth are in bed

Watch the whole creation
Turning inside out.
He's making His Will made known.
The time for peace is now.
Leaders at the table
Talking about an end to war.
We need more than chess moves.
We got to open up the door.
And let a little sunlight
Shine on each and every face.
And in the light of morning
Let them bless the human race singing:

You and me
Feel the expectation
All the world around
Everyone is waiting

Oh! One world It's an easy sounding good thing to say.
One world - let's begin to build that one
world today.
It can happen if we try, it can happen if we
try.
It must happen, there's no better time to try.
Oh! That's the world we are building for
We must build with love
And love will make this one world.

Songbook, Vol. 2)
CHORUS:
One world, one people
One world's what we need indeed
One world, one people

ORDERLINESS
(Jennifer Russell, The Virtues Songs)
CHORUS:
God's creation's in perfect order
Could a rose be any lovelier?
I create order around me
Peacefulness and harmony
Orderliness is being organized
It's putting things in their right places
Planning something so that it works
Instead of going in circles
CHORUS
Orderliness is putting first things first
It's solving problems step by step
I respect the rules at home and school
It keeps things straight
Instead of all mixed up
CHORUS
CHORUS:
PANAMA SPACESHIP
(Christopher Ruhe)
One day while I was pioneer ramblin'
Down in old steamy Panama,
What to my wonder I saw
On a jungle mountaintop right there,
A spaceship had landed, I swear.
CHORUS:
Oh, it glowed in the night, a soft peachy light
It had fins for steerin', I suppose,
Silently, it stared into the night
But I couldn't go close,
I just shivered with fright.
I couldn't believe what my eyes were seeing
People of all colors were entering the
spaceship,
They were smiling, they weren't fleeing,
So I guess the spacemen were some nice
guys
Who had dropped in to see us from out of the
skies.
Like I said, I wouldn't go near it
But a spaceship from some new world had
landed
Where it can be seen, and if you're ever
down
In old steamy Panama, you'll see it, I swear
it.
CHORUS
PAPER CRANES
(Lyrics & music by Stefan Brown
Chorus:
Mankind is one sun mankind is one
Paper cranes with perfect wings
Flying to the sun flying to the sun
PASS IT ON
(Kurt Kaiser, Tell It Like It Is)
It only takes a spark to get a fire going
And soon all those around can warm up in its
glowing
That's how it is with God's love once you've
experienced it
You spread His love to ev'ry one You want to pass it on.
What a wondrous time is spring when all the
trees are budding
The birds begin to sing; the flowers start
their blooming
That's how it is with God's love once you've
experienced it
You want to sing, it's fresh like spring You want to pass it on.
I wish for you, my friend, this happiness that
I've found
PASSING THROUGH
(Version?)
CHORUS:
Passing through, passing through
Sometimes happy, sometimes blue,
Glad that I ran into you.
Tell the people that you saw Me passing
through.
Said Noah, Look, my people,
At the rainbow in the sky.
It's a sign your God won't leave you all
alone.
But it's up to you to choose
Who is false and Who is true
Of the Prophets as They all go passing
through.
When Moses said to Pharaoh,
Won't you let My people go?
Said Pharaoh, They're in Egypt land to stay.
To the Promised Land We're bound,
Oh, Pharaoh, this I'm telling you.
In Egypt land We're only passing through.
CHORUS
I saw Jesus on the cross
On a hill called Calvary.
CHORUS
There were eighteen brave young Persians
Gathered 'round the Bb to say,
At last we've found You! Now what should
we do?
He said, Get ready for to see
The One Who comes after Me.
I'll be back, but now I'm only passing
through.
It was 1863 when Bah'u'llh did say,
This is the Day We've all been waiting for.
God's promise has come true.
Now the rest is up to you.
So go tell the world you saw Me passing
through.
CHORUS
He'll come again, my friends,
In a time we'll never see Maybe 'bout a thousand years, or so
So let's pass the world along,
So our children won't go wrong
And they'll know the next time He comes
passing through.
PASSING THROUGH
(Gary Sterling, Rose Garden)
Hare Ramba Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna,
Hare Ram
These words are old, but the meaning still is
new.
Krishna told me,
'You will see, I'll be coming as Kalkin.
In My present form, I'm only passing
through.'
CHORUS:
Passing through, passing through
Sometimes happy, sometimes blue,
Glad that I ran into you.
Tell the people that you saw Me passing
through.
I met Buddha on the path and He looked into
my eye
Said, 'People need not suffer like they do.
Less of 'me' and more of 'thee' That will set the people free.
There's so little time, and I'm just passing
through.'
And when Moses said to Pharaoh,
'Won't you let My people go?'
Said Pharaoh, They're in Egypt land to stay.
'To the Promised Land We're bound, Oh,
Pharaoh,
CHORUS
PATIENCE
(Susan Engle, Come and Sing)
A rock is patient
It sits through lightning, snow and grime
Rocks don't complain, they take the time
To change. A rock is patient
PATIENCE
(Jennifer Russell, The Virtues Songs)
CHORUS:
I am waiting without complaining
I accept things I cannot control
I am trusting with quiet expectation
That all will be will and I calm my soul
I am gentle with myself and others
When mistakes are made
I am patient with humor and acceptance
While waiting for someone
Who's delayed
CHORUS
I set goals and persevere
Until my goals are won
I do what I can, then calmly wait
With trust that results will come
A plant is patient
The seed grows when the time's just right
It knows the day's for sun and night's
For rest. A plant is patient
A cow is patient
CHORUS
PATIENCE
When you are watching TV, your favourite
stuff
Baby sister is wailing, your Moms in a huff
Your temperature is rising, youve just had
enough
Just try to be patient and calm
Cause practicing patience is a wonderful
thing,
The more that you practice, the more love it
will bring
So be willing to wait for the things that you
want
Be patient n gentle and kind.
When you cant find your socks cause
Your rooms in a mess
Dont go round moaning and blaming the
rest
Try to remember, be patient and kind
Then theyll be easy to find.
PATIENTLY WAITING
(Robert Voigt, We Will Have A School . . .
Louhelen)
Patiently, patiently waiting.
Silently, silently waiting.
Trusting you will make my world free.
So I can play and be what I was meant to be.
Children 'round the world play the games
that make them happy.
Despite the things that seem so bad, children
always try
To make the best of what they have, to see
things as they should be,
To find the sun behind the clouds, to paint
rainbows happily.
But in a world where wars still rage, where
people fight and die
CHORUS:
Peace! Unity! That's the way this world
should be.
Together as one, you know it can be done.
Why can't you people understand?
Everybody's equal. A man is a man.
RAP: What is this thing called prejudice?
Black and White, you know what the
message is.
We need to come together as one;
People getting shot in the head with a gun.
What's the matter with the people of this
place,
Killing each other because of their race?
Haven't you ever heard of peace and unity?
United, not divided, is the way we want to
be.
Peace. Unity
Peace. Unity
PEACE MOVES
(Steve and Terry Ransome, The Bah'
Songbook, Vol. 1)
Tear down those borders
All they do is cast a shadow on the land
Build a bridge across the waters
Come together help the world walk hand in
hand
In the East they're making peace moves
Look beyond your horizons
There's much more to life than money
changing hands
PEACE ON EARTH
(Traditional tune of Greensleeve)
In every one of the Holy Books
A time of peace has been foretold
When God would once again speak to man
As in the days of old
CHORUS:
Peace on earth was prophesied
When all these ruinous wars would cease
The Glory of God is Bah'u'llh
For He is the Prince of Peace
The sullen mass of all mankind
PEACE TRAIN
(Cat Stevens)
Now, I've been happy lately, thinkin' about
the good things to come.
And I believe it could be, something good
has begun,
Oh, I've been smiling lately, dreaming about
the world as one.
And I believe it could be, someday it's going
to come.
'Cause out on the edge of darkness there
rides a peace train,
Oh, peace train, take this country, come take
me home again.
Now, I've been smiling lately, thinking about
the good things to come,
And I believe it could be something good has
begun.
Oh, peace train, sounding louder, glide on
the peace train.
Come on, now, peace train. Yes, peace train,
holy roller,
Ev'ry one jump upon the peace train.
Come on, now, peace train. Get your bags
together,
Go bring your good friends too.
'Cause it's getting nearer, It will soon be
with you.
Come and join the living, It's not so far from
you.
And it's getting nearer. Soon it will, will be
true.
PEOPLE
(Dave Van Manen, Barley Bread and
Reindeer Milk)
There are all kinds of people. (ECHO)
From many different lands. (ECHO)
And there are all kinds of places, (ECHO)
From Argentina to Japan. (ECHO)
And here we go, here we go, here we go,
here we go
And there's a horseman from the grasslands
of Mongolia,
And the mountain folk who live in
Switzerland.
There's also the Eskimo who live with
lots and lots of snow
And the fishermen that fish in Tanzania.
Allh-u-Abh, Allh-u-Abh
Allh-u-Abh, Allh-u-Abh
Allh-u-Abh, Allh-u-Abh
Allh-u-Abh
Allh-u-Abh, Allh-u-Abh
Allh-u-Abh, Allh-u-Abh
Allh-u-Abh, Allh-u-Abh

PHOENIX
(Words by Michael J. Lamarch, Music by
Lindsay Tim Bush, Legacy - World Peace)
Fly, Phoenix, fly
And in your flight, drive back the darkness
Fly, Phoenix, fly
And in your flight give us your light
Our lives are ashes,
But our children still breathe
Cheer their young spirits,
It is hope that they need
From among the shattered towers
From within the dead black seas
Comes a shape all fire and motion
Comes the Phoenix, flying free
CHORUS:
His love now soars around us
His message at least we see
We shudder at past blindness
As we embrace His Unity
Gone the hate that burned so deadly
Gone the fear that fed dread needs
Out of death new hope arises
Out of nightmare dreams released
The purge so swift and final
Some never heard their screams
A PIONEER
If there's one wish that I may realize
Lord, won't you grant to me
That I may be a pioneer, a pioneer for Thee
CHORUS
Now amidst our huddled masses
Where eyes never seem to dry
Silent weeping turns to wonder
As we watch the Phoenix fly
In our hearts His seed blossoms
In our souls His spirit breathes
Our children cheer new hope's passage,
In dying, we finally see
CHORUS:
A pioneer, a pioneer, a pioneer for Thee
Grant that I may sacrifice my all
To be a pioneer for Thee
Grant me the courage, Lord, I beg
Make me a channel free
That my poor ears may hear Thy call
To be a pioneer for Thee
CHORUS
From among the shattered towers
From within the dead black seas
Comes a shape all fire and motion
Comes the Phoenix, flying free, flying free
Fly, please, oh please fly
PILGRIMAGE
(Jerry Irish, We Will Have A School . . .
Louhelen)
And it takes so long to travel there
It takes so long to travel there.
And yet it's not the footsteps spent
Or time meandering in vales
Or squandered on a holiday.
It's love's sojourn; our Lord awaits
I long to see the Prison gates
Where Mihd fell, the Purest Branch.
Our Lord's arms outstretched to us, waving
high
And it takes so long to travel there.
PIONEER
Faraway friend, friend with your golden
dreams,
Working for a life that takes you far
from what life seems,
Holding fast to the cord of what life really
means.
CHORUS:
Pioneer, in the greatest city
With unseen armies beside you
Pioneer, oh, remember Him
And let His memory satisfy you.
Faraway land, land of a universal goal,
With everybody crying loud for a soul.
Oh, be the instrument that makes them
whole.
THE PORTAL
(Tim Bush, Legacy - World Peace)
I have seen the forest empty,
I have seen the forest at night
Come to me, my maiden lovely
Closer still, hold me tight
Oh, my husband, why are you shaking?
What see you, in the forest dark?
Are there lurking creatures of evil?
Painted shadows, cold with fright
CHORUS:
Bah'u'llh, help us now to see
Bah'u'llh, help us now, help us now
Yes, I see a death in the forest
Frozen fingers of despair
Mankind looked in combat mortal
With himself, the earth, and the air
Oh, my darling, stay to your portal
Are no horizons fair?
Must the future be so brutal?
Anytime, anywhere
I am connected to the One Great Spirit
CHORUS
CHORUS
What joy I see now in the distance
Light is breaking o'er the hill
Smiling people, working together
Harmony may conquer still
We have seen the forest empty
We have seen it filling with light
See you now our death in the forest?
We are praying man will survive
CHORUS
To see

PRAYER
(Russ Brightwell, Legacy - World Peace)
Hold out thy right hand, come follow me
And walk continually in His way
Searching, living learning in His knowledge
Guiding me over the mountains,
Through the valleys, no matter how far
And I'll open my heart to His love
Sailing away over the ocean
Creating new waves
Strengthen me through my prayers
For Thou art eternally true.
And I'll believe in no one but You
And my love for Thee will never die
PRAYER
(Lynette Hopkins)
CHORUS:
What are two things we can do?
Prayer and fasting, prayer and fasting.
Why are they good for us to do?
Life everlasting, life everlasting.
CHORUS

ANSWERING GOD
(Eric Dozier)
CHORUS
CHORUS:
Can't you see we're all to blame?
What's your color or what's your name?
Shouldn't matter 'cause we're all the same
But will we ever learn?
CHORUS
THE PRISONER
(Dan Seals & John Ford Coley, Flight/Lote
Tree & Lift Up Your Voices and Sing, Vol. 1)
Take us to the Prisoner. Let us gaze into His
eyes,
To see what kind of man it takes a nation to
despise
Take us to the Prisoner. Let us look upon
His face.
To see why twenty thousand men would
gladly
take His place.
Won't someone give a drink to Him?
Remove the chains and let Him live. Let
him live.
Take us to the Prisoner. Let us listen to His
voice,
To see why worlds of wisdom's in a cell
without a choice.
Take us to the Prisoner,
Torn and bent beneath the chains.
We wonder if the world is really worthy of
His Name.
Won't someone give a drink to Him?
Remove the chains and let Him live. Let
Him live.
CHORUS:
We know where we're goin',
For we've heard the new wind blowin'
And we've got to know for ourselves.
It won't help to listen to someone else.
Take us to the Prisoner with His eyes so full
of grace.
The priests have lied and kings have died
filled with their own disgrace.
Wont' someone give a drink to Him?
Remove the chains and let Him live.
PROTECT US!
Words from a prayer by The Bb
(Music: Ernestine Atkins)
O Lord! Protect us from
what lieth in front of us and
behind us, above our heads,
on our right, on our left,
below our feet and every
other side to which we are
exposed. Verily, Thy
protection over all things is
unfailing.
PROTECT US!
Words from a prayer by The Bb
(Music: Nancy Blackburn)
CHORUS
To the glory of God!
PSALM 19
Based on Old Testament Psalm attributed to
David (Christian hymn by Sonny Salsbury)
Don't you wonder why the stars are in the
sky?
They're telling you and I of the glory of God.
And ev'ry tow'ring tree is there for folks to
see
So there no doubt can be of the glory of God.
CHORUS:
So 'Let the words of my mouth,
And the meditation of my heart'
Do the same thing for thee and a witness be
To the glory of God! To the glory of God!
Then comes the morning sun to make the
darkness run,
And say that day's begun to the glory of God.
But when the shadows fall and the night
winds call,
They're telling one and all of the glory of
God.
QUALITIES
(Marina DeMerritt, Sheet music in Spinstar
Music Collection 1)
The quality of friendliness outweighs a bag
of gold
Kindliness and tolerance surpass all stocks
you hold
Trustworthiness exceeds the price of any
fancy car
And truthfulness and justice outshine all
rings by far
The quality of faithfulness endures where've
you roam
Obedience and purity rate higher than a
home
Unselfishness wears better than a new
designer dress
And righteousness adorns the man who lives
with less
We need to change the standard used for
measuring our lives
And place much more importance on our
spirit's inner drives
For every choice we make that's hard, our
character improves
Our spirits grow, our souls take flight, we
understand God's truths
QUEEN OF CARMEL
(Jeanie Murday, We Have Come to Sing
Praises & Lift Up Your Voices and Sing, Vol.
2)
Standing on the mountain,
Looking across the bay,
The Queen of Carmel reigns,
She reigns majestically.
CHORUS:
RADIANT FACES
(by Katie Shannon)
Radiant faces with traces of love in their eyes
Walking the pathway of God, seeking the
Light.
Chorus:
Whos to know, what loving (sorrow,
tomorrow) will bring
Loving (sorrow, tomorrow) will bring
All that we know, is winter will turn
Turn into spring
Waking up early one morn to the cry of a
child
Spinning and turning a soul, born to be wild.
Chorus
Riding the hills, the wheat fields glow in the
sun
We know only one thing, our journey has
only begun.
Chorus
Eagles of beauty and grace soar in the sky
To see you again oh my friend, makes my
heart fly
To see you again oh my friend, makes my
heart fly
RANKS OF CONFORMITY
(The Reggae Project)
They say that
A woman's work is never done;
That she's the first teacher of everyone.
RAP SONG
(Red and Kathy Grammer, Teaching Peace)
Now all across this big, wide world
There are lots of boys and lots of girls
With different eyes and different noses
Different hair and different clothes
It's a magical thing, it's a wonderful game
We all look different, but we're all the same
REFLECTIONS
(Angela Wood, Horizons)
Such a proud and arrogant man
A body of bricks and mortar
Surrounds a heart that beats inside
And swears he'll never alter
CHORUS:
A frightened man, a frightened child
Whose heart may some day open
He sees the world as cold and hard
A world with little hope in
A man who does not suffer fools
No fools without exception
A man who does not suffer fools
And daren't look at his reflection
CHORUS
To see the splinter when there's a plank
Just listen without exception
Trust and love and we can find
Salvation in reflection
True love in true perception
CHORUS
RELY ON GOD
This present life is as a swelling wave,
Or a mirage, or shadows drifting by.
Know that the Kingdom is the real world,
And this nether place, its shadow, stretching
out.
Rely on God. Trust in Him. Praise Him.
And call Him continually to mind.
He verily turneth trouble into ease,
Sorrow into solace,
And toil to utter peace.
And toil to utter peace.

All the kings will be forgotten
Honour and deeds will remain

Do you live to die in comfort
Remember the days of the flood

From the changes and chances of life

He standeth before you
The everlasting Candle shineth
How it hath consumed the veils
The Well-Beloved hath come among men
Release yourselves,
O Nightingales of God
And wing your flight
To the rose garden
Of unfading splendor
CHORUS
A ROBIN'S SONG
(Gregory C. Dahl, Sheet Music in A New
Wind Blowing)
Hearken my brothers, and I will sing thee,
A lovely tune, a lovely melody;
Once I was walking in the deep forest,
And a lovely robin sang this song to me:
Be not thou lonely, in midst of trouble,
Nor be despairing, in midst of woe,
Rather be thankful, for all thy trials,
For without trials, we can never grow.
Be thou immovable as a mountain, a mighty
peak,
Firm against the blast,
For winds shall blow, and bitter storms
surround thee,
And all is lost if thou be not steadfast!
Be thou a refuge for all who wander,
Be thou a haven for every homeless soul.
Be thou a lighthouse upon the ocean,
Guiding the vessels through the wind and
snow.
And in times of sickness, He will make thee
whole.
Show forth all meekness, unto all people,
Put not thyself ahead of any one.
Be an example unto the righteous,
And in the darkness, be a shining sun.
ROCK MY SOUL
(Traditional)
Rocka my soul in the bosom of Abraham
Rocka my soul in the bosom of Abraham
Rocka my soul in the bosom of Abraham
Oh, rocka my soul
So high, can't get over it, so low, can't go
under it,
So wide, can't go around it.
Gotta' go in through the door
ROSE GARDEN
(Gary Sterling, Rose Garden)
I woke up early one morning with my head
in a swirl
From a dream I had that night of a one
world.
Of a one world, of a one world.
I saw a garden, a beautiful rose garden.
I know what you're thinking,
But let me beg your pardon.
They were not roses, they were not roses.
They were people.
They were black, they were brown,
They were yellow, they were white,
All gathered in, all gathered in
This garden of love, this garden of love
This garden of love, this garden of love
SAILOR
A patient man is waiting for something to
appear
Sailor waits there by the sea
For a ship that landed yesterday
But old sailor did not see
Sun is down, another day is done
Or can he face another one?
Sailor's patience never dies,
But he never opens up his eyes.
CHORUS:
Sail on, you are old,
But you're not too old to see
Sailor sits there by the shore
CHORUS
SAY HI!
(Kathy and Red Grammer, Teaching Peace)
Did you know some folks are shy
When it comes to sayin' 'hi'
They feel funny deep inside
And they turn their heads away
They think no one wants to meet 'em
And nobody really needs 'em
So when you go up to greet 'em
They turn their heads away
CHORUS:
You've gotta stand up tall
Gather up a smile
Take a big breath
Look 'em in the eye and say, 'Hi!'
So take it from your dog or cat
They've got their hellos down pat
Meow, meow, meow, woof, woof, yap, yap
They don't turn their heads away
So when someone is sayin' 'hi'
And it's your turn for feeling shy
You might want to run and hide
But don't turn your head away
CHORUS
So when you're walking down the street
Say hello to those you meet
Don't be looking down at your feet
You've gotta look 'em in the eye and say,
'Hi!'

So many colours we cant choose.

See all the races, watch spirits fly

SHINING EYES
(Red and Kathy Grammer, Hello World!)
I've looked into a million faces
I've seen your smiles, I've seen your frowns
Different colors, all different ages
Right side up and upside down
Each one's been a thing of beauty
Different styles of composition
Let me tell you what I remember
Most of all from my position
Your shining eyes like rays of sunlight
that brighten up the skies
Your shining eyes my heart remembers
when I've seen your shining eyes
It's not the big or the little noses
Whether your chin's sticking in or out
The ebony tones or the blush of roses
Hair straight down or curled about
It's not about whether you have a dimple
Whether you ears grow big or small
Whether your clothes are stylish or simple
The only thing that I recall are
Your shining eyes like rays of sunlight
that brighten up the skies
Your shining eyes my heart remembers
when I've seen your shining eyes
They're the sunrise, the moonglow
They're the fresh breath of spring
They're alive with the beauty that flows
through everything
The whole world seems to sin in your.
Your shining eyes
Your shining eyes
Your shining eyes like rays of sunlight
that brighten up the skies

He is the Fire that keeps me warm
He is a shelter in the time of storm

(Words from old Shaker hymn, Music by
Dave and Helene Van Manen, We Recycle)
'Tis the gift to be simple, 'tis the gift to be
free
'Tis the gift to come 'round where we ought

And when we are in the place just right

When true simplicity is gained
To bow and to bend we will not be ashamed
To turn, to turn 'twill be our delight
Till by turning we come 'round right

SON OF JUSTICE
(Words by Bah'u'llh
Music by Angela Wood, Horizons)
O Son of Justice!
Whither can a lover go but to the land of his
beloved?
And what seeker findeth rest away from his
heart's desire?
To the true lover reunion is life,
and separation is death.
His breast is void of patience
and his heart hath no peace.
A myriad lives he would forsake,
to hasten to the abode of his beloved.
CHORUS:
Open your eyes. Open your ears.
Don't be afraid. It's no time for tears.
It's time for love, love.
The message was clear to the pure in heart.
They rose up to defend Him. The jealous
and angry men in power decided to destroy
Him. But He said:
CHORUS
BRIDGE: (spoken)
The government officials and the clergy
were enraged by the power of this Young
Man's words and actions, by the spread of
His new religion. So they gathered together
to decide what to do, and whispered among
themselves words such as these:
What can we do to keep the flame of love
from spreading heart to heart? The fire's
now raging out of control. We should have
stopped it from the start. Take Him. Chain
Him. Hide Him from the people. Put Him
in prison, and put Him to death.
A martyr's life was His final fate. They
thought it would stop the fire. The message
lives on in the hearts of those who still can
hear Him crying: When He said,
CHORUS
SONG IN MY HEART
(Mark Spiro & Tony Marty, Parrish &
Toppano - The Shores of This Great Ocean)
Some say the road to love is long,
You never know when the journey ends;
Only we live to love in the world
Here in our arms and gone again
CHORUS:
There's a song inside my heart
Its melody rings so right and true.
It is a song full of precious love,
Singing now since I found you.
'Cause in your eyes
I see the bright star
Shining like a mirror to my soul
You're my guiding light
I cling to every night.
You're the part of me that makes me whole.
CHORUS
I can't believe the things you see in me.
You always love me just the way I am.
And every single night
I pray with all my might
The song inside my heart will never end.
Ah . . .(INSTRUMENTAL)
CHORUS
I found you.

SONG OF PEACE
We bear the signs of oneness
The flag of truth and right
God's emblem universal
Of peace and love and light
Bright as the stars above us
Fair as the azure sky
Clean as the winds of heaven
Lift we our banner high
SOUND OF SILENCE
(Paul Simon)
CHORUS:
Hello, darkness, my old friend.
I've come to talk with you again;
Because a vision softly creeping
Left its seeds while I was sleeping;
And the vision that was planted in my brain
Still remains within the sound of silence.
In restless dreams I walked alone narrow
streets of cobblestone,
'Neath the halo of a street lamp,
I turned my collar to the cold and damp
When my eyes were stabbed by the flash of a
neon light That split the night
And touched the sound of silence.
And in the naked light I saw
Ten thousand people, maybe more.
People talking without speaking
People hearing without listening
People writing songs that voices never share
And no one dare disturb the sound of silence.
"Fools!" said I, "You do not know
Silence, like a cancer, grows."
"Hear my words that I might teach you;
Take my arms that I might reach you."
But my words like silent raindrops fell,
And echoed in the wells of silence.
And the people bowed and prayed
To the neon god they made.
And the sign flashed out its warning
In the words that it was forming;
And the signs said "The words of the
prophets
Are written on the subway walls
And tenement halls"

It's not the way that you look.
It's not the way that you wear your hair.
It's not the way that you move.
It's not the way that you say you care.
It's not the way you hold me tight.
It's not your face in the moonlight.
It's not the charm in your smile.
It's not the way of your style.
CHORUS:
It's a spiritual connection.
To be blown away?
This is the season of destiny.
Chorus 2 x

SUCH LOVE
(Verse 1 Words by Shoghi Effendi,
Dawnbreakers - on the love of Bah'u'llh
for the Bb; Verse 2 Words by Bah'u'llh Love Me That I May Love Thee in French;
Music by Grant Hindin Miller, Afar)
Such love no eye has ever beheld, nor has
mortal heart conceived
Such mutual devotion, if the branches of
every tree were turned into pens
And all the seas into ink, and earth and
heaven rolled into one parchment,
The immensity of that love would still
remain unexplored, and the depths
Of that devotion unfathomed
O Fils de lExistence! Aime-moi pour que
je taime; si tu ne Maime pas,
Je ne pourrai jamais taimer. Comprends-le,
o serviteur !
SUDAN VILLAGE

SUNRISE
(Brian Whitcomb & Grant Gullickson, Seals

CHORUS:
Sunrise warm in your eyes
Blue skies far as you see
One day you'll know what the future means
And carry your broken dreams
Through the valley
And rest in their peace
One fine beautiful day
You'll find more than you need
You'll see the writing is on the wall
Plainly telling you that it's all
Waiting for you; it's all there for free
It's all waiting for you; it's all there for free
CHORUS
It's all waiting for you; it's all there for free
It's all waiting for you; it's all there for free
SUNRISE
(Gordon Butler, Come and Sing)
Sunrise, sunrise
Bathe the world in glistening light
Dispel the darkness of the night
And cause the stars to stop shining
Slowly dawning
Turn a lighter shade of dark
Roosters crowed and dogs did bark,
But the world was still sleeping.
Wake up, won't you please?
Wake up, cries the sun through the trees.
But the trees are so thick
That you can't see the woods for the trees
And nobody sees that there is a New Tree
With Its roots planted firmly in the ground
SUNSHINE
Open up your heart, let the sunshine in
Let the sunshine into your heart
Open up your heart, let the sunshine in
Let the sunshine into your heart
CHORUS:
Open up yourself to the world
Give yourself a beautiful view
Open yourself to the world waiting for you
What'll you do
CHORUS
Open up your heart, let the sunshine in
Let the sunshine into your heart
Open up your heart, let the sunshine in
Let the sunshine into your heart
CHORUS
Open up your eyes, let the colors in
Let the colors into your eyes
Open up your eyes, let the colors in
Let the colors into your eyes
CHORUS
Open up your soul, let the spirit in
Let the spirit into your soul
Open up your soul, let the spirit in
Let the spirit into your soul
TABLET OF AHMAD
Tablet by Bah'u'llh
(Music: Red Grammer, Tablet Of Ahmad )
Spoken: He is the King, the All-Knowing,
the Wise!
TABLET OF VISITATION
Tablet by 'Abdu'l-Bah
(Music: Mary Davis, Wings of Prayer)
Spoken: He is the All-Glorious!
O God, my God! Lowly and tearful,
I raise my suppliant hands to Thee and cover
my face in the dust of that Threshold of
Thine, exalted above the knowledge of the
learned, and the praise of all that glorify
Thee.
Graciously look upon Thy servant, humble
and lowly at Thy door, with the glances of
the eye of Thy mercy, and immerse him in
the Ocean of Thine eternal grace.
THIRIH
(Mary Davis, Sheet music in The Bah'
Songbook, Vol. 1)
CHORUS:
Thirih the pure one
Consolation of the eyes
What I would give to meet you now
While my life is new
O Lord, my God!
THIRIH
(Mimi McClellan)
CHORUS:
Thirih, heroine of T,
She gave her life for Bah'u'llh
Thirih, solace of the eyes,
She's with the Bb in paradise.
She gave up fame and fortune.
She gave up hearth and home.
She had to tell the people the Promised One
had come!
She taught the Faith in Karbil and Baghdad
and Qasvin.
In Kermanshah and Hamadan and many
towns between.
CHORUS
The magistrates and clergy, they hated what
she said.
They punished and stoned her
And laid curses on her head!
There was a conference at Badasht,
Thirih shocked them all!
She took the veil from her face
And raised a mighty call!
CHORUS
And finally they killed her, for what she had
to tell.
They put a cord around her neck and threw
her in a well!
They may have killed her body,
And for that the world cries!
But Thirih lives forever in the hearts of all
Bah's!
CHORUS
TAKE A LITTLE TIME (REVERENCE)
(Jennifer Russell, The Virtues Songs)
Take a little time to be still
Take a little time to find peace
Take a little time to listen
Take a little time to be still
Take a little time to remember
Who you really are
You really are a gift to the world
A child of Spirit
Take a little time to know Love
Take a little time to rejoice
Take a little time for reverence
Take a little time to be still
TAKE A WALK
(Dave & Helene Van Manen, Barley Bread
and Reindeer Milk)
CHORUS:
How'd ya' like to take a walk?
We could walk and we could talk.
We could gawk and we could squawk.
So, how'd ya' like to take a walk?
And if it's snowing from the sky,
We'll dress warm and we'll stay dry;
And if the snow gets in our hair,
We'll wear a hat and bring a spare.
And if it's coverin' up the rocks,
We'll wear an extra pair of socks;
And if it's snowing really hard,
We'll bring along a Saint Bernard.
CHORUS
And if it's really really hot,
We'll try to find a shady spot;
And if the sun is burning strong,
CHORUS
You got a secret and you're keeping me out,
I'm in the corner with my face in a pout.
You put on your petticoat, scrub your face
clean
But you'll never be happy if your heart feels
mean.
CHORUS
CHORUS:
Krishna, Buddha, Zoroaster
Abraham, Moses, Christ,
Mohammad, The Bb, Bah'u'llh,
The Spirit's the same.
Bah'u'llh's teachings, for today,
Tell us to look to the Spirit,
Not to worship the name.
CHORUS
TAPS
Fading light dims the sight
And a star gems the sky, gleaming bright;
From afar drawing nigh, falls the night.
CHORUS
What are these truths that we all should
seek?
2 GROUPS TOGETHER:
O thou Who art our life and light,
Guide Thy servants in Thy way
TEACHING PEACE
(Red and Kathy Grammer, Teaching Peace)
CHORUS:

It's up to us to show we care
Reaching out to everybody everywhere
Heart to heart and friend to friend
Circling all around the world and back again
CHORUS
So take my hand and come along
It's time to sing the world a brand new song
So sing it loud and sing it clear
All together now so everyone can hear

It's time to sing the world a brand new song
So sing it loud and sing it clear
All together now so everyone can hear

TENDER YEARS
Tender years, awake and sing,
Your Lord is here to teach you everything.
Roses of His garden, look the Sun is here.
Flowers of His meadow, feel the gentle rain.
He has guided you, the sleeping, in the
stormy night
To deliver you from darkness to a brilliant
light,
To deliver you from darkness to a brilliant
light.
Tender years, before you sleep we'll sing,
But your Lord will be here to teach you
everything.
May He guard your eyes, that He is all you
see.

healing, O my God, and remembrance of
Thee
Is my remedy. Nearness to thee is my hope,
and love for Thee Is my companion.
Thy mercy to me is my healing, And my
succour in both this world and the world to
come,
And the world to come Thou, verily, art the
All-Bountiful, the All-Knowing, the AllWise
TILL THEN
(Red Grammer, Soul Man in a Techno
World)
They say Amadeus simply wrote down what
he heard
Not a single change, not a second thought
He must have been one worthy vessel
I don't know, maybe if I let go a lot
CHORUS:
But till then I'll scratch for every bit of
meaning
Till then I'll wrestle every rhyme
And once in a while when heaven smiles on
me
I get to watch them shine, they shine
Someday the words will flow like water
They'll make perfect sense with every
melody
I'll be hard pressed to sing them all
So awash in songs I'll be
CHORUS
It's worth it every single chance
TO TEACH IS TO LEARN
(from the Bah Writings)
To teach is to learn, To learn is to work
To work is to serve, To serve is to love
To love is to sacrifice, To sacrifice is to die
To die is to live, To live is to strive
To strive is to rise above All earthly
limitations
And enter the eternal realms.
TOGETHER
(Margo Does, We Want to Grow Up)
Two ants boogying down the road
TRACES
(James Seals*, Sheet music in The Bah'
Songbook, Vol. 1)
Red is the color they wear
Death is the shadow that was never there
They left their traces in the Sun
And thus they won the crown of martyrdom
In the Abh Kingdom
Faith is the essence they share
Faith is the reason they care
I hear their voices proud and strong
It's the martyr's song
At the break of dawn, saying 'carry on'
Ten is the number of angel souls
Ten is the number of flowers that grow
They lined the pathway that He chose
Crimson roses, Crimson roses
Beauty's roses, Beauty's roses
Martyr's roses, Martyr's rose
We must carry on
Red is the color they wear
Shine in their faces so fair
Immortal spirits soaring high
In the spaceless sky
So that you and I
TREAT MYSELF
(Words: Stephanie Andrews, Music: Stevie
Wonder, Conversation Peace)
There's a place I can go
When the tension's high and I'm feelin low
In a flash I can be in another space
As a different me, have a new I.D.
CHORUS:
TREE OF LIFE
(Bob & Delores Simms, Flight)
There's a tree in the forest,
And the sun knows its name Grows little green apples
Kissed by the rain.
Under that tree in the forest
A seedling has begun to grow Created to serve a great purpose,
Not just for show.
CHORUS:
All around the country
People search with no place to go.
Take a lesson from the great forest:
Learn how to grow,
And grow, and grow.
Seedlings you are with a purpose;
Hold your head up high.
Reach, reach for the sunlight'
Reach for the sky.
Seedling has grown in the forest,
And the sun knows its name.
Tree and the seedling together
Are kissed by the rain.
CHORUS
A TRIBUTE TO 'ABDU'L-BAH
Based on words of 'Abdu'l-Bah
(Words: Jim Seals, Music: Jim Seals & Dash
Crofts, Seals & Crofts Takin' It Easy/ Music
of the Bah' World Congress)
(INTRODUCTION: Poem in Persian written
by 'Abdu'l-Bah to Bah'u'llh)
Tearfully I raise my hands
And supplicate unto Thee in prayer
Close my eyes and You're there again
It's not the end, You are with me always
'Abdu'l-Bah , your footsteps are oh so hard
to follow
For a broken winged bird whose flight is
very slow
Such a long, long way to go
Hopefully I turn my face to Thee
And ask forgiveness
All my life I've been blind; now I see
Mankind is one; all religions agree
'Abdu'l-Bah, the lessons of your life
TRUST
(Jennifer Russell, The Virtues Songs)
CHORUS:
There is some good in everything that
happens
There's a gift or lesson to be learned
I trust God with everything that happens
And my fear and worry disappear
Trust, trust, trust
I rely, I believe, I trust
I can relax, I know things will be alright
I trust that my best is good enough
CHORUS
Trust, trust, trust
I receive guidance in my heart
I choose not to nag or try to control
I trust others to do their part
CHORUS
TRUST IN YOU
(Woody Woods, Lucy Shropshire: This is
Faith)
Once I was alone, out here on my own
My heart filled with despair, cause no one
seemed to care
Then You took my hand and You made me
understand
That one and one is two and all I need is You
CHORUS:
All I ever had to do was trust in You
All I ever had to say was, 'Have Your way'
All I ever had to see was that You believed
in me
All I ever had to do was trust in You
Once I wasn't free, I lived in misery
Trying hard to be an island in the sea
Then You touched my soul
And You made my spirit whole
Your turned my ship around
Got me back on solid ground
CHORUS
The world had conquered me
The world had me blind
I was looking for an answer
That was right here all the time
I couldn't see the forest
I could only see the trees
You touched me with Your love and now I
believe
TRUTHFULNESS
(Susan Engle, Come and Sing)
Telling the truth can be easy
When Grandma asks, 'Would you like yogurt
to eat?'
It's easy to say 'Yes, yes, yes, yes!'
When it is the truth
CHORUS:
Truthfulness makes us strong
Our hearts and our souls grow like giants
Telling the truth can seem kind of scary
Bah'u'llh tells us it's necessary
To always tell the truth
Tell the truth can be hard
When mother says, 'Did you lose
Your brand new shoes?'
It's hard to say 'Yes, yes, yes, yes'
When it is the truth
TRUTHFULNESS
(Ruhi Institute Collaborators, Sharing
Circles Songs for Kids)
Truthfulness is brighter than the light of the
sun.
Truthfulness is brighter than the light of the
sun.
With truthfulness, O people, beautify your
tongues.
With truthfulness, O people, beautify your
tongues.
Honesty adorns the soul of everyone.
Honesty adorns the soul of everyone.
Honesty is brighter than the light of the sun.
Honesty is brighter than the light of the sun.
CHORUS
Telling the truth can be fun
When your dear friends say,
'We know we can trust you.'
It's good to feel, 'Yes, yes, yes, yes'
CHORUS
Oh, we're daisies, we're tulips,
We're pansies and chrysanthemums.
Oh, we're buttercups, we're violets,
We're roses, and lilies too.
CHORUS
Oh, we're Germans, we're Russians,
We're Algerians, and Chinese too.
Oh, we're Americans, we're Brazilians,
We're Australians, and Swedish too.
CHORUS
Oh, we're Buddhists, we're Christians,
We're Muslims, Zoroastrians.
Oh, we're Jewish, we're Bah',
We're Hindu and Taoist too.
CHORUS 3 TIMES
UNITY
(Jennifer Russell, The Virtues Songs)
I am connected to everything
I am connected to everybody
I am a part of God's universe
I am a member of humanity
CHORUS:
Unity brings peace
Unity brings harmony
Unity is powerful
It creates beauty from diversity
CHORUS
Oh, we're plumbers, we're doctors,
We're painters, and teachers too.
Oh, we're Carpenters, we're nurses,
We're musicians, and farmers too.
CHORUS
The power of unity solves conflicts
Let's listen to each other and find solutions
Like instruments in an orchestra
We blend in harmony and unison
CHORUS
UNITY DANCE
(Leslie Spiro and Kelly Bruss, We Are One)
Unity dance (Dance, dance), unity dance
(Dance, dance)
Unity dance (Dance, dance), unity dance
(Ohoh ohoh)

Unity dance, unity dance
Unity dance, unity dance (Ohoh uhuh )
We are one, though not the same,

Unity dance
Let's all come together, unity dance
No matter what the weather, unity dance
(oh)
UNITY HOUSE
(Doug Cameron, If You Only Knew)
CHORUS:
We need a day to all come together,
Open up and release the pressure;
A day where everyone can see we are all one
family.
Let's have a unity dance, a celebration,
A day when the whole world comes together
In a unity dance, nation to nation;
Let's celebrate life tonight;
CHORUS:
Come into my unity house,
The rain falls down, the wind is strong,
But I'm warm inside.
Come into my unity house.
The day is long, we're singing a song
In the unity house.
CHORUS
(INSTRUMENTAL)
CHORUS 2 TIMES
In my unity house REPEAT & FADE
UNITY IN DIVERSITY
(Gordi Munro, Unity in Diversity)
CHORUS:
Let me tell you about the spirit of the new
wave
Let me tell you about something
This is the time when we must unite
The time not to be divided
Division only brings us ruin and strife
Brothers, why can't we be united
Unity in diversity
Does not mean the same
Let me tell you about the spirit of the new
wave
Let me tell you about something
A garden is a garden when it has variety
The flowers enhancing one another
Man is mankind with his differences
Created to enrich each other
Unity of Love, Unity of Freedom
Unity in Unity, Unity in Diversity
Unity
UNITY IN DIVERSITY
(Lyrics & music by Stefan Brown,

Flowers blossom neath the sun
Many colours they become
A visual coloured symphony of
Unity in Diversity
Chorus:
Unity in Diversity
UNITY PRAYER
Prayer by Bah'u'llh
(Music by Jack Lenz, Unity in Diversity)
God grant that the light of unity may envelop
the whole earth, and that the seal, 'the
kingdom is God's' may be stamped upon
the brow of all its peoples.
UNITY PRAYER
Prayer by Bah'u'llh
(Music: Mary Davis, Wings of Prayer)
O my God! O my God!
Unite the hearts of Thy servants,
and reveal to them (reveal to them)
Thy great purpose.
May they follow Thy commandments
and abide in Thy law.
Help them, O God, in their endeavor,
and grant them strength (grant them
strength) to serve Thee.
O God! Leave them not to themselves, but
guide their steps by the light of Thy
knowledge, and cheer their hearts by Thy
love.
Verily, Thou art their Helper and their Lord.
(their Helper and their Lord.)
UNITY SONG
(Janice Finley)
We all live here together. The earth is all
our home.
Let's build a peaceful planet and fill the
world with song.
CHORUS:
Unity, Unity, Unity, Unity, Unity now
Unity, Unity, You and me, Unity, Unity now.
Although we may be different and not alike
at all,
We can forget our separateness and live in
harmony
CHORUS
UNIVERSAL LANGUAGE
(Leslie Spiro, Kelly Bruss and Bo Tomlyn,
We Are One)
I speak English, you speak Dutch;
We don't' talk together much.
I don't understand what you're saying to me.
Two people on a bench,
One's Spanish, one is French He no comprende, she no parler franais.
We need to talk about it, talk, talk about it,
We've got to find a way to reach each other;
We need to talk about it, talk, talk about it,
We've got to touch heart and soul.
We need a universal language, language of
love;
A universal language is what I'm dreamin'
of;
A universal language, language of love;
USE A WORD
(Red and Kathy Grammer, Teaching Peace)
When someone makes you slip
And you wanta bruise their lip, use a word!
When someone grabs your book
And you go for your left hook, use a word!
CHORUS:
'Cause we can work it out That's what words were invented for.
We can work it out -It's the best way there is
for sure.
To fight over something is absurd,
So for Pete's sake, use a word!
When someone steals your ball
And you wanta make 'em fall, use a word!
When someone plays a trick
And you're winding up to kick, use a word!
(INSTRUMENTAL)
CHORUS
A . .. universal language of love,
We need a universal language, language of
love;
A universal language is what I'm dreamin'
of;
A universal language, language of love.
One day we'll understand ev'ryone in ev'ry
land.
A universal language, language of love,
A universal language is what I'm dreamin'
of;
A universal language, language of love;
One day we'll understand ev'ryone in ev'ry
land.
Everybody's different,
Take a look around and see.
You're the only you I know
And I'm the only me.
Because we're all so different,
There'll be times we'll disagree
But I just want to say, my friend,
That that's alright with me.
CHORUS
So for Pete's sake, and Jamie's, and Nikki's,
and Juan's,
and Jamal's, and Debbie's, and Erin's, and
Crystal's, and David's, and Andy's . . .Use a
word!
VARIETY
(Mike Rogers)
Would you like me if I came from Mexico?
Would you like me if I came from Tokyo?
Would you like me as a Scandinavian?
Would you like me if I came from Michigan?
(INSTRUMENTAL)
Would you like me if I cooked with a garlic
spice?
Would you like me if I lived on peas and
rice?
Would you like me if I ate from a wooden
dish?
Would you like me if I loved to eat raw fish?
CHORUS:
V-A-R-I-E-T-Y spices up our day.
When we get together the world will be a
Better place for us to stay.
Would you like me in a suit of Harris
tweeds?
Would you like me if my hat was made out
of weeds?
Would you like me in my robes of kings and
queens?
Would you like me in my faded old blue
jeans?
(INSTRUMENTAL)
Would you like me if my house was stone or
wood?
Would you like me if my house was ice or
mud?
Would you like me if my house was big or
small?
Would you like me if I had no house at all?
CHORUS
(INSTRUMENTAL)
VIRTUES SONG
(Lyrics & music by Stefan Brown,
Troubadour Music @98)
VISION
(Laura Lee, Lucy Shropshire: This is Faith)
It starts in your mind with a vision
Of just how the world could be
If only you and I would put hatred and fear
aside
Long enough to see
Just how the world could be
It starts when your soul cries within you
There's been enough suffering and pain
WAGE PEACE
(Dave Van Manen, Wage Peace)
I see the people searching for a path
That will lead them to a refuge from the
wrath,
Now they can search forevermore,
Sail to ev'ry distant shore,
But they've got to look within to find the
door.
Mmmmhmmmm . . .
Every person's got to touch his heart
But it's there we cannot stop, that's just a
start
Alone you are one melody
Together we're cosmic harmony
We've got to join our souls in unity.
Mmmmhmmmm . . .
Let the light of unity shine its light on you
and me
WARM FUZZIES
(Dave & Helene Van Manen, Barley Bread
and Reindeer Milk)
When you're down, you're feelin' bad,
You're feelin' low, you're feelin' sad:
You gotta' find someone you love
And get a warm, warm, warm, warm fuzzy.
CHORUS:
Warm fuzzies feel so good
They make you feel just the way you should.
Warm fuzzies feel so fine,
Early in the morning or at half past nine.
So when you're down and feelin' bad,
Go get a warm, warm, warm, warm fuzzy.
When you're mad, infuriated,
You feel you're not appreciated:
You gotta' find someone you love
And get a warm, warm, warm, warm fuzzy.
CHORUS
Now when your mom is feelin' grouchy,
And she's just sitting there on the couchy,
You gotta' give some of your love.
Give her a warm, warm, warm, warm fuzzy.
CHORUS
WE ARE BAH'S
(Jack Lenz, Doug Cameron & Jason Sheper,
We are Bah's)
To know is to grow.
To grow is to love
To love is to serve,
Serve all mankind.
CHORUS:
We can be servants of the servants.
WE ARE FLOWERS
(Dave & Helene Van Manen, We Recycle)
We are flowers
of one garden.
We are drops
of one sea.
CHORUS:
Come and join us
in our quest for unity,
It's a way
of life for you and me.
We are leaves
Of one branch.
We are cattle
of one ranch.
CHORUS
We are pieces
Of a cherry pie.
We are piggies
In a sty.
CHORUS
We are flowers
Of one garden.
We are drops
Of one sea.
CHORUS
CHORUS
WE ARE ONE
(Dan Seals, In A Quiet Room II, Lift Up Your
Voices and Sing, Vol. 3)
In a bombed out room in Belfast, a young
boy is crying
He's alone and he don't understand how the
teachings of one book
Built on love and understanding
Could cause the hurt and killing in his land
In an old part of Jerusalem two children are
playing
They run and laugh the way it's meant to be
But one will wear the star and one will wear
the crescent
They'll grow up and change from friends to
enemies
CHORUS:
But we are one, the Flowers of one garden
We're one, the leaves of one tree
Let the walls come down and stand here
together
We are one family
In a Pakistani village a young boy on
crutches
Takes a fall and lies helplessly there
And he holds out his hand, but no one will
take it
They won't touch him or the clothes that he
wears
On a side street in Selma, a black child is
sitting
WE ARE ONE
(Leslie Spiro, Kelly Bruss and John Ford
Coley, We Are One)
Toko zani nina laba wanki,
Le li langa lakuka na.
Toko zani nina laba wanki,
Le li langa lakuka na.
Sailing on the sea of life, looking out over
creation,
I feel the gentle words upon the wind,
Whispering the message from on High
And it says: Lo the Nightingale of Paradise
Sings about a world in peace together,
Where everyone in harmony
Can be in perfect unity and love forever.
CHORUS:
We are one across the land;
Reach out and touch, hand to hand,
And let somebody know our love will grow
To unite the hearts of man.
Oo-oo-oo-oo (ba ba ba ba ba ba)
Woh-oh-oh-oh
Oo lingo, say lalalalalah, oo lingo, say lah
Through the course of life we change
CHORUS:
And they'll know we are brothers by our
love,
by our love.
Yes, they'll know we are brothers by our
love.
WE ARE SOLDIERS
Well, the Bb blew His trumpet,
Announcing to the world the time had come,
And like a thief in the night, He came by the
Gate
Because He was the Promised One.
CHORUS:
Oh, we are soldiers in God's army.
We gotta' stop and teach the Word for now
We gotta' hold (We gotta' hold) up love and
unity.
We gotta' hold it up until we die.
Bah'u'llh was the Prophet.
He got the Word that is right for now.
And when the road got rough and the goin'
got tough
He just stood there and taught anyhow
CHORUS
'Abdu'l-Bah was the Servant
He got the Word that is right for now.
And when the road got rough and the goin'
got tough
He just stood there and taught anyhow
Shoghi Effendi was the Guardian
He got the Word that is right for now.
And when the road got rough and the goin'
got tough
He just stood there and taught anyhow
Now we're glad we're all soldiers.
We got the Word that is right for now.
And when the road gets rough, and the goin'
gets tough,
We're gonna' stand there and teach anyhow!
CHORUS
(Ohohohohoh)
Y Bah'u'l-Abh
We have come to sing praises to our Lord. . .
.
We have come to give honor to our Lord. . ..
CHORUS
CHORUS
WE RECYCLE
(Dave & Helene Van Manen, We Recycle)
I just had a drink of some soda pop
All that's left is this aluminum can
The pop is gone, it's just a piece of trash
Now what do I do with the can?
Drop it in a lake?
(No!)
Spin it in the dryer? (No!)
Or take it to the recycle center?
(Yes!)
CHORUS:
We Recycle, we don't just throw it away
We Recycle so we can use it once again
someday
CHORUS
WE SHALL OVERCOME
(Union song Based on hymn "We Will
Overcome", since adapted as integration
songs.)
CHORUS:
We shall overcome, we shall overcome,
We shall overcome some day.
Oh, deep in my heart I do believe
That we shall overcome some day.
WE WANT TO GROW UP
(Nancy Ward, We Want to Grow Up)
(2 GROUPS)
When someone says war, We will say peace
When someone says hate, We will say love
When someone says fight, We will talk
instead
We'd rather be living than dead
CHORUS:
We want to grow up Grow up, grow up
We want to grow up Grow up, grow up
We want to grow up
We want to grow up
We want to grow up
We want to grow up
WE WILL ALL
(Doug Cameron & Jack Lenz, If You Only
Knew)
The marriage of our hearts in this world
Might tear our lives apart in this world
Every step along the longest road of all
Could bring us to the end
We'll watch the pieces fall
The vows we make today in this world
CHORUS
(INSTRUMENTAL)
CHORUS:
We're all brothers and sisters,
Red, black, yellow and white.
We are all equal
In the good Lord's sight.
We're the colors of the rainbow,
But our light is one.
We are the leaves of one tree
Growing under one sun.
CHORUS:
Turn that wall into a bridge,
Take our brothers by the hands,
Walk across that bridge
To the world God promised man.
We're building bridges out of the walls,
Building bridges out of the walls,
Building bridges out of the walls
That keep us apart.
When the wall say stay away,
We both think differently,
Gonna' tell them we are all the leaves
Of just one tree.
CHORUS
When the wall says stay away,
We're from a different race,
Gonna' tell them there is just one race,
The human race.
CHORUS
WE'RE PRAYING
CHORUS
WE'RE RICH!
(Red and Kathy Grammer, Hello World!)
WEAVE
(Rosemary Crow)
CHORUS:
Weave, weave, weave us together
Weave us together in unity and love
Weave, weave, weave us together
CHORUS
CHORUS
We are different instruments playing our
own melodies
Each one tuning to a different key
But we are all playing in harmony
In one great symphony
CHORUS
A moment ago, still we did not know
Our unity, only diversity
Now the Light in me greets the Light in thee
In one great family
CHORUS
Come fly, come fly, Tahirih
Come fly, come fly tonight
Come fly, come fly, Tahirih
Come fly, Tahirih, fly!
CHORUS
WEDDING DANCE
(Words by Michael J. Lamarch, Music by
Lindsay Tim Bush, Legacy - World Peace)
CHORUS:
She danced in veils so lovely
She danced in veils so bright
She danced in God's great Glory
She danced for her wedding night
On the day before the evening
She prepared herself for flight
She dressed in silk and satin
And clothed her soul in light
The nightingales sang like angels
Spreading beauty through the sky
Their voices rose unit,
'Come fly, Tahirih, fly'
MALE:
Today, my love, our future starts
Two paths merge into one
Let's walk together side by side
Until this life is done
FEMALE:
We'll fill our lives with happiness
With hugs and kisses sweet
And find the place within our hearts
Where loyal friends do meet
MALE:
I'll listen to your feelings
And treat them as my own
I'll pray we look back through the years
And see how close we've grown
FEMALE:
With every day let's strive
WEL-O-COM
(Song from Uganda, Black Mens Gathering)
Wel-o-com, all our visitors,
We are happy to receive you,
For with your love, and your greatness,
Well never, well never forget you,
welcome.
I call on Dan, brother Dan,
We are happy to receive you, etc.
CHORUS
'Son, that's a part of our sufferin' past,
But the whole human family is learning, at
last,
That the thing we missed on the road we trod
Is to walk as daughters and sons of God.
CHORUS
WHAT IS PEACE
(Dave and Helene Van Manen, We Recycle)
CHORUS:
CHORUS:
What would you do if nobody loved you
If your friends were enemies and no one
knew
You just wanted to be liked and be yourself
What would you do if you were someone
else?
CHORUS:
Whatcha gonna' do today - to find it
Whatcha gonna' do today - to build it
Whatcha gonna' do today - for heaven
Work for heaven's sake - all together now
Work for heaven's sake
CHORUS
All of us have the tools to work with
Let's get together and leave our guilt
If we all just keep working
The heavenly kingdom will be built
CHORUS
WHEN WE GROW UP
(Mary Davis, Let's Try Peace For Awhile)
CHORUS
CHORUS:
When we grow up we'll have a better
Way of livin' - when we grow up
We'll find that giving brings us more
Than when we take
We'll make a world that's built on sharing
Without caring who is who - when we grow
up
Maybe the world will grow up too
SING IN ROUNDS:
Whene'er you make a promise
Consider well its importance
And once made
Engrave it upon your heart
CHORUS
CHORUS
(Official Version)
Just whistle while you work (whistle)
And cheerfully together we can tidy up the
place
So hum a merry tune (hum)
It won't take long when there's a song
To help you set the place
And as you sweep the room
Imagine that the broom
Is someone that you love
And soon you'll find you're dancing to the
tune
(Spoken): Oh, no, no, no, no! Put them in the
tub)
When hearts are high the time will fly
So whistle while you work
WHITE ROSES
(Grant Hindin Miller, Afar)
White roses were carried on horses from
Persia
WHO WE ARE
(Angela Wood, Horizons)
The air up here is fresh and clear and sweet
This new born child is innocent of we
It's up to us to keep it so
But we all know how children grow
Its mother is old and worn and weak
She's fed us well, but now she sings defeat
Her child is here to save the lives
Of those who closed her mother's eyes
Send them off to play among the stars
And leave us here to heal this earth of ours
The games we play have gone too far
It's time to look at who we are
CHORUS
Another day
Passes us by
An opportunity
Which we deny
WILDFIRE
(David Hall and Wilford Johnson, Wildfire)
There is a spirit flowing through each land
Filled with hope God's love can inspire
A glow in every nation if we look we can
See it start spreading like wildfire
CHORUS:
Wildfire - in all consuming passion
Wildfire - the cause of God's desire
Wildfire - the hope of every nation
Spreading through our veins like wildfire
It started as an ember and seemed a little
spark
Oppressors and nations could put out
They banded together to keep man in the
dark
But if we look today there is no doubt
CHORUS
Now all creation begins another day
The mysteries of life are being told
Through earth and heaven Bah will show
the way
Promised in the Holy Books of old
WINDFLOWERS
(Jim Seals and Dan Seals, Lift Up Your
Voices and Sing, Vol. 3)
Windflowers, my father told me not to go
near them
He feared them always
Said they carried him away
Windflowers, I couldn't wait to touch them
To smell them I held them closely
Now I cannot break away
Their sweet bouquet disappears
Like a vapor in the desert
Take a warning, son
Windflowers, their beauty captures every
Young dreamer who lingers near them
Ancient windflowers, I love you
WINGS
(Angela Wood, Horizons)
CHORUS:
I hear you , you do not wish to fly straight
and strong
The words you use on me must be wrong
They're not true, they're not love
Offer me the wings of a dove
Heading for the same place at a different
pace
Like moths drawn to a light we fry from the
night
We can't tear ourselves away, and one day
we will learn
WINGS WE CAN FLY ON
(Red Grammer, Soul Man in a Techno
World)
Spirit in a body, body for moment
Moment quickly passing, spirit still alive
Body has a question, "How long I be here?"
Spirit got an answer, "Not too long but I've

CHORUS:
Wings we can fly on, whoa-whoa
Up and over across the great divide
Wings we can fly on, whoa-whoa
Everybody has them, anyone can fly
Thinking like a body, body full of hunger
Hunger keep you hunting, can't escape the
drive
Body has a question, "Where am I going?"
Spirit got an answer, "Not too far but I've got
CHORUS
Living this life in a fantasy
Can it be any less real than it is... probably
not
Throughout our hysterical history the
Mystery's
Been trying to tell us what it is that we've
got....we've got
Wings we can fly on, whoa-whoa
Up and over across the great divide
Wings we can fly on, whoa-whoa
Everybody has them we only have to try"
Body gets the picture, feels the end a-coming
Body got to listen, body got to try
Spirit has it's own way of speaking softly
When body stops to listen spirit whispers,
"I've got
Wings we can fly on, whoa-whoa......
WORDS OF WISDOM
(The Reggae Project)
Speaking words of Wisdom,
Speaking words of Joy
Speaking words of Silence
That lingers in our hearts.
Speaking through the Prophets
Who came and gone along.
O Lord ...
Come take us back
Home, home, home ...
Speaking through Krishna
Speaking through Abraham
Speaking through Moses,
A pure and holy Man.
Speaking through Jesus Christ
and His forerunner John ...
Speaking through Zoroaster
Speaking through Buddha
Speaking through Muhammad,
The founder of Islam.

WORDS OF WISDOM
The source of all good is trust in God,
WORLD CITIZEN
(Christopher Ruhe-Schoen, Flight)
I am the world citizen. The whole world is
my home.
And I am not a foreigner no matter where I
roam.
All men are my brothers. We're all the same
inside,
As through the void of endless space
Together we do ride.
I am the world citizen. You've seen my face
before,
In every smoky city, by every sandy shore,
In every child that runs and skips,
Yes, in every man that toils;
And I claim the whole world for myself Her trees, her seas, her soil.
I am the world citizen. Please hear my call.
In the map that God drew
There's not one line or wall.
The earth's a wondrous, lovely sphere
In a vast and trackless sea,
And I celebrate her comforts and her fair
fertility.
WORLD CITIZENS
Based on the words of Bah'u'llh
(Phil Lucas, Lift Up Your Voices and Sing,
Vol. 2)
CHORUS:
Glory not in this, that you love your country.
Glory in this, that you love mankind.
We're the fruits of only one tree
And the leaves of just one branch.
World citizens, world citizens
In unity, that's how the world must be
All the people live as one
Like fragrant flowers in the sun.
Unity, the world cries for unity.
His rays are dawning like the sun.
Soon the world will be one.
WORLD OF PEACE
(Tim Bush, Legacy - World Peace)
We've got to live in a world of peace
We've got to live in a world of peace
We've got to live in a world of peace
Bringing' it on from above
We're building a brand new day
We're takin' a brand new way
We're building' a brand new day
Won't you come and take my hand
BRIDGE:
It's for us to do
We've all been told
For the Day of God
To unfold
Every troubled man
Must find his way
So brother take my hand
Together we must stand
Sister take my hand
All across this land
We're spreadin' the Word of God
O, Bah'u'llh
We're spreadin' the Word of God
And my friends, we cannot stop!
(REPEAT, EXCEPT BRIDGE)
WORLD UNITY
(Wilford Johnson, Let's Try Peace For
Awhile)
When we realize there's just one God
And just one true religion
And we all belong to just one family
When we eliminate all prejudice
And mankind seeks the truth
Imagine what a world it's gonna' be
With a universal language
This world won't seem so bad
When women have the freedom
'Til now only men have had
When every nation in the world
Unites to show we care
The earth will be one country
And all be treated fair
When we're educated the best we can be
When science and religion work in harmony
When the wealthy educate the poor
To eliminate poverty
Then we'll have heaven here on earth
(INSTRUMENTAL)
CHORUS
World unity
We'll have heaven here on earth, world unity
We'll be waging peace on earth
Instead of World War Three
The future of this planet depends on you and
me
Let's have heaven here on earth, world unity
WORLD, WORLD
World, world, world, world, why do you
reject your Lord?
When will you receive your Savior,
Bah'u'llh?
Peace, peace, peace, peace, this is what we're
waiting for.
CHORUS:
Y Bah'u'l-Abh
Y Bah'u'l-Abh
Y Bah'u'l-Abh
Y Bah'u'l-Abh
Y Bah'u'l-Abh
Y Bah'u'l-Abh, Y Alyyul-Al
Y Bah'u'l-Abh, Y Alyyul-Al
Y BAH'U'L-ABH
(Words: Roberta Christian, Music: Eugene
Babcock, A Bah' Child's Song Book)
'Y Bah'u'l-Abh,' this is what I say
Every time I think of God,
Every time I pray.
'Y Bah'u'l-Abh' is God's greatest name.
I say it every sing day.
Why don't you do the same?
Y BAH'U'L-ABH, ALLH-U-ABH
[The Greatest Name]
Y Bah'u'l-Abh, Y Bah'u'l-Abh
Y Bah'u'l-Abh, Y Bah'u'l-Abh
Allh-u-Abh, Allh-u-Abh
Allh-u-Abh, Allh-u-Abh
YE ARE DROPS
(Unknown, Sharing Circles Songs for Kids)
Ye are drops (ye are drops) echo voice
Of one ocean (of one ocean).
Ye are leaves (ye are leaves)
Of one tree (of one tree).
YEAR OF SUNDAY
(Words: Jim Seals, Music: Jim Seals & Dash
Crofts, Seals & Crofts Year of Sunday)
We all live in the Year of Sunday
So many things are in store for us
Oh what a gift to be born in Sunday
Beautiful Light way down here in the dusk
People, return to the Tree of Oneness
Oh, won't you hurry the Presence is there
Down on our knees in the darkness of
Sunday
We'll find the answers to all of our prayers
And then everyday will be Sunday
