Like any other resident account. It can be maintained in Rupees and the balance and

interest earned is not repatriable except as specified below:

Interest earned on the account and the current income like pensions , dividends, rent etc that
are credited to the account are repatriable subject to producing the appropriate certificate
from chartered account.

Funds can be repatriated up to USD 1million ( equivalent) per year out of balance held in
NRO accounts for all benefits/ purposes to the satisfaction of authorized dealer.

All legitimate dues can be credited into the account ( however a resident Indian cannot give
loan to an NRI, the reverse is possible)
NRE A/cKey features :

Repatriable account as the credits allowed in the account are restricted only to foreign
