Research suggests that the majority of criminals who are sent to a prison would

commit crimes when set free, what do you think of this case? What can be done to
solve this problem?
A leopard cannot change its spots. Perhaps this is true of most mammals and other
animals. However, when it comes to mankind, it is not always the case. Indeed, with
wisdom and common sense, the human brain is capable of distinguishing between
good and evil and make timely changes whenever possible. Although the chances of
freed criminals breaking the law again are greater than those of someone who has
never done so, countermeasures can be taken to prevent them from being further
corrupted, as well as to help them change their immoral old spots.
In the first place, it is important to determine why exactly prisoners committed their
first crimes and, for repeat offenders, why they are frequently involved in similar
cases. Then, solutions to these problems are needed. The best way to overcome an
obstacle is to probe deeper into its roots, just like the treatment of diseases in
hospitals. No matter how seriously a patient falls ill, doctors must find out what has
caused such sickness before making a plan to cure it. As long as the most
fundamental points that directly lead to the disease have been discovered, the most
effective means of treatment are likely to be worked out. Suiting the remedy to the
case is actually a concrete rule that must be followed in the field of medicine. The
same is true with criminals. Their evil deeds simply resemble the diseases they
have. A series of factors might have misled them onto the road of crimes. For
instance, lack of a good education, poverty, divorced parents, or even just joining
the wrong social group all can contribute to their illegal actions. Through sincere
talks and detailed investigations, the hidden origins of their problems can be found
and treated in a suitable manner.
Besides that, there is every necessity to enhance the quality of education in prisons.
In a sense, the prison can be regarded as the place for a persons rebirth if he or
she is determined to erase previous shames and turn over a new leaf. The
government ought to grant them better opportunities to attend useful classes
during their imprisonment. Thus, the possibility of their ill-intentioned conducts can
be lowered. Teachers can also take advantage of the harmonious class atmosphere
to deliver positive concepts and ideas so as to help them reestablish their vision of
life. Normally, prisoners may show a rebellious mood towards anyone who deprives
them of freedom. As a result, educators face greater challenges under such
circumstances and need to adopt smarter teaching techniques and make
comprehensive preparations beforehand.
To bring the crime rate down, the whole society must also actively participate in the
campaign. The effort of each individual is counted. As for those who once broke the
law but have been set free, they should be accepted as equals. Otherwise, they
may feel self-abased because others look down upon them. Then the possibility of
them committing crimes again will become higher. In order to avoid this, the

masses should support them whenever necessary. Absolute is just like a ray of
sunshine brightening the darkest parts of anyones heart, and a reformed person is
no different.
In conclusion, the repeated offenses of prisoners reveal many serious social
problems that require more public concern. If not immediate action is taken to solve
these problems, people will never be able to live in a harmonious and safe
atmosphere. Crimes obstruct the smooth progress of civil economy and harm the
essential interests of the public. Therefore, it is the combined efforts of both the
government and individuals to help those who have been released from prison.
