PROCEDURE: -the teacher greets the students and checks their homework. The possible mistakes are corrected. -the students read the homework, correct the mistakes and answer the teachers questions -T ask Ss : Do you have a motorbike? Do your friends? What do your parents think about bike? -Ss answer the questions -T tells Ss to look at the picture from page 42 where Kelly is going out with Matt on his motorbike. INTERACTION: teacher-students ACTIVITY 2:reading and speaking practice(10 min) AIM:-to practice reading for gist PROCEDURE: -students start reading the dialogue between Kelly and her grandmother -teacher draws attention to the phrase we`d better get our skates on(=we`d better hurry) -t checks the answer with the whole class, encouraging ss to explain/justify their answers -s read the text aloud for the whole class INTERACTION: individual work, teacher-students, students-teacher ACTIVITY 3: writing (10 min) AIM: -to identify which sentences are true, false and which one is DK (don`t know) -to identify phrasal verbs with look PROCEDURE: -Ss read the sentences and identify them in the dialogue, then they write T(true), F (False) or DK (don`t know) Ss justify their choice as well T checks their answers T asks Ss to identify all the phrasal verbs with look in the text using questions to help the Ss: How did Kelly say she would be OK? -T explains the meaning and elicits sentences for further understanding.

AIM:- to use the expressions for giving and accepting advice in a situation PROCEDURE:- the teacher explains the expressions used for giving advice or accepting advice -students choose of the situations given: 1.You want to learn to drive 2.Your brother wants to get fit 3.you want to earn some money 4.You want to change the way you look. -Ss write the short dialogue INTERACTION: group work, T-Ss, Ss-T ACTIVITY 4: vocabulary (10 min) AIM: to learn new vocabulary regarding motorbikes and cars PROCEDURE: -Ss read the new vocabulary from ex 4/ 43 -T explains the unknown words -T gives handouts with pictures of a motorbike and a car and gives one to each student, then she names one or two parts of the motorbikes and cars by referring to the numbers of the pictures. -Ss identify the parts of the car and motorbike -t checks the answers INTERACTION:T group work ACTIVITY 5: reading AIM: to practice reading PROCEDURE: -t gives handouts to Ss -Ss read the text: From Boy Racer to Teenage Champion aloud -Ss complete the factfile given and put the events of the text in order, the T checks the answers and explains where is necessary ACTIVITY 5: preparation for homework assignment (2 min) AIM:-feed-back and homework setting. PROCEDURE:- the teacher explains to Ss that they have to write a conversation in their notebook where: Gina wants to be a racing driver. Her father encourages her, but her mother doesn`t like the idea. They can use the guide from ex 4 from handout. INTERACTION: individual work
