Foundation of English
tenses: Meaning and use

Use of Articles and prepositions.
Different sentences pattern and combining sentences.
Narration.
Use of adverbs and adjective etc.
Classes and phrases.
Vocabulary building skills
Dictionary reading skills.
Composition
The aim would be to develop overall writing skills of the students. Therefore the students would be taught
how to write Essays, Letters and Precis. The Essays need to be on issues of current national and international
importance, culture, society and arts. It would encourage the students to consult quality newspapers and
magazines for preparing the essays for their exam. Letters should not be personal, but job application, letters
to the editors etc. all questions in this part would be general. The teacher would be required to encourage the
students to read journals, newspapers and current affairs articles for this part of the course.
