Social Research Method:

Introduction
Segregations is defined by merriam-webster.com as the practice or policy of keeping
people of different races, religions, etc., separate from each other, the act or process of
segregating : the state of being segregated, the separation or isolation of a race, class, or
ethnic group by enforced or voluntary residence in a restricted area, by barriers to social
intercourse, by separate educational facilities, or by other discriminatory means, the
separation for special treatment or observation of individuals or items from a larger group
segregation of gifted children into accelerated classes. I challenge a broader definition to
include cultural segregation as well. I will attempt to persuade the audience.
Overview: Purpose of the Study
The Hypotheses I seek to prove is Segregation still exists today in many forms.
Religion, race, gender, geographic location on the globe. Also many of choices we
encounter and make on a daily basis are impacted by our perceptions on the above
mention factors which in hindsight directly make many of of guilty of segregation and
therefore actual inhibit our growth as people and a nation. From a kindergartener only
siting with certain friends at lunch to adults almost inability to socialize outside of the
comfort zone they grew up in.
The Research Question
What is segregation as defined and its characterizations?
What is success a nation and how does it apply to the individual?
What impact does segregation have on an individuals growth as a person?
What impact or implications will occur if we fail to recognize segregation and what
has history taught us in relation?

people who looks like me scares me enough not sacrifice my dreams in hopes of what m

Significance of the Study
The study is important and necessary I feel because it is only through the review of or
present conditions as individuals and as a nation that we can truly learn and move
forward in a positive direction. Ignorance and denial never served anyone.
Assumptions of the Study
There is an assumption that after carful review of the data contained in the research and
after self reflection the reader will be inspired to make certain changes to negative
paradigms that may be hindering great experiences in life.
Limitations of the Study
This study will address specific situations relevant to our culture in America were
opportunity might exist to change some of the negative current systematic ways of
living.
