Introduction
Have you used a thermometer? Which is convenient to use digital thermometer or
mercury thermometer ? For some people(ancient people) its better for them to use a
mercury thermometer because its the only device that was existed before but as of today,
our world began to modernized. Scientists have discovered many things that will help us
to live more comfortable and easy and one of that is the digital thermometer.
Using a digital thermometer when you are sick or when determining the body
temperature is much easier than using a mercury thermometer. Why? Because a digital
thermometer uses electronic means to provide a digital display of the temperature
reading. Unlike in a mercury thermometer, you need to look for a thin thread of mercury
that will rise in a tube.
Thermometer is a device or instrument use in measuring a temperature. And both the
digital thermometer and mercury thermometer contains a mercury . That mercury is
poisonous to humans. But from the two(2) devices we presented, its much safer if you
are going to use a digital thermometer. Because such mercury thermometer is hazardous
when the bulb at the bottom of a graduated sealed glass capillary tube which contains a
mercury has been broken. But despite of that its not bad to use a mercury thermometer
but great caution should be taken in using the device especially to the childrens.

Objectives
At the end of this research, the readers are expected to:
1. determine the advantages and disadvantages of using Mercurial and Digital
thermometers.
2. compare the number of people who prefer to use the Mercurial Thermometer than the
Digital Thermometer and vice versa.

Significance of the Study

Modernization is the number one factor why life nowadays became easier and
convenient.
Through the years, inventions of different kinds emerged. Some old inventions were
improved, some are digitalized.
Thermometer, as an example, was modernized. There are many kinds of thermometer
nowadays, but there are these two most commonly used kind. The Mercurial (Mercuryin-glass) Thermometer and the Digital Thermometer.
This study was conducted to help on disseminating information on the use of
Mercurial and Digital thermometer.

Statement of the Problem

This study sought to answer the following questions:
1. What are the advantages and disadvantages of using Mercurial and Digital
thermometer?
2. Which one between the Mercurial and Digital thermometer is mostly preferred to be
used by people.

Review of Related Literature

Practices that promote conceptual understanding rely on a variety of

materials, resources and teacher-student behaviour. These emphasis are on helping people
make sense of using Thermometer. The teachers role is not to impart the knowledge but
rather to guide the childrens learning of the importance of things particularly the
thermometer.

BIOGRAPHICAL DATA

Austria, Sarah Jean M. was born in Indang Cavite, on the 11th day of July in the
year 1997.She is the eldest among the three(3) siblings of Mr. Ernesto J. Austria and Mrs.
Julieta M. Austria.
She graduated from Elementary at Indang Central Elementary School(ICES) way
back year 2008. She graduated High School at Saint Gregory Academy(SGA) Indang,
Cavite last year 2013. Now she is currently taking up Bachelor of science in Medical
technology at Cavite State University,Indang.
Comedia, Charissa Faith B, was born in JP Hospital, Dasmarinas Cavite on July
31, 1996. Her parents are Felipe S. Comedia and Clarissa B. Comedia. She is the eldest
among her two(2) siblings.
She graduated at Eulogio Amang Rodriguez Institute of Science and Technology
(EARIST) Cavite Campus.
She is now studying at Cavite State University taking the Program of Bachelor of
Science in Medical Technology.

Escalante, Viralyn M, was born in De Lasalle University Medical Center

Dasmarinas Cavite on November 21, 1996. Her parents are Ricardo B. Escalante and
Vivian M. Escalante. She is the eldest in the family.
She graduated at Trece Martires City National High school and now studying at
Cavite State University and taking the Program of Bachelor of Science in Medical
Technology.

Gloriani, Jen-Marriane F, was born in General Emilio Aguinaldo Cavite on

October 07, 1996. Her parents are Teddy P. Gloriani and Marilou F. Gloriani. She is the
third among her four siblings.

She Graduated at General Emilio Aguinaldo National Highschool and now

studying at Cavite State University and taking the Program of Bachelor of Science in
Medical Technology.

Muelle, Hazel Joy S, was born in Villa Apolonia Hospital, Naic Cavite on July
18, 1997. Her parents are Aurelio P. Muelle and Herminia S. Muelle. She is second
among her two siblings.
She graduated at Ternate National Highschool, Ternate Cavite and now studying
at Cavite State University and taking the Program of Bachelor of Science in Medical
Technology.

Salcedo, Myrell Jean S. was born in Mary Johnstons Hospital at Tondo Manila
on March 18, 1996. Her Parents are Engr. Edilberto C. Salcedo and Mrs. Marilyn S.
Salcedo. She is the youngest among her two siblings.
She graduated at Christian Values School in Bacoor, Cavite and now studying at
Cavite State University and taking the Program of Bachelor of Science in Medical
Technology.
Umipon, Erica Mae B, was born in Brgy. Gregorio Trece Martires City on May
18,1997. Her Parents are Ernesto C. Umipon and Zenia B. Umipon. She is the youngest
among the family.
She graduated at Trece Martires City National Highschool and now studying at
Cavite State University and taking the Program of Bachelor of Science in Medical
Technology.

all the support and encouragement they needed, namely: to their parents, Mr. and Mrs.

Abstract
Introducing thermometer in a particular situation is one of the easiest way of
determining somebodys temperature. As
