Hypotheses

Physical abuse is a subject that many can identify with, from either personal

experience, or experiences derived from someone close to them. There are

many questions about the origin of these selfish acts and studies across the

nation that seek to explain them. Although physical abuse is frowned upon

in the United States, many people struggle with its effects daily. There are

number of women who suffer from the physical abuse of a partner. The study

that will be examined will look at some of the variables that may have an

effect on this outcome. The variables I chose look at include the following;

race, the amount of times abused in the last year, and length of relationship

(time of the study).

When looking at the variables above, I found it challenging to draw a

conclusion because of the broadness of them. Though there are ways that

people can make assumptions, I wanted to be careful not to stereotype one

group based on my previous knowledge. The hypotheses were drawn

regardless of assumptions dealing with the cases. Length of relationship will

effect the amount of times R was abused in the last year. Length of

relationship and race will coherently impact the amount of time R was abused

in the last year. These hypotheses analyzed through the data and found. The

data will show results and work to establish truth in the following hypotheses.

Rationale

In order to compute a hypotheses, you begin to theorize what exactly makes

sense in the cases of research that you are conducting. There must be proper

guidelines set out and a number of variables need to be sorted through.

When analyzing your approach you will have to be understanding of the

respondent and make logical yet personalized hypotheses that reflect your

thoughts on the subject. Later you will be able to explain your decisions and

make the proper decision for analyzing your data.

The fact that there are women across the nation women are faced with issues.

The study of abused women, became a subject of interest because of the

variables that were included in the study. When you think of abused women

many times we don't think of the age of the individual, we think of the

consequences to the such dramatic actions that were taken. Many blame the

women without looking at what caused this abuse. In order to draw a

hypotheses, I thought about the ways that women must feel when in a

relationship over a year long. Though age and level of education could be

strong indicators of the reason for abuse, I chose not to study that effect. I

chose to look at length of relationship because in relationships that are over a

year begin to incorporate a number of issues that my be stressful and provoke

abuse. Also spouse may feel more comfortable abusing after a year.

Discussion

When looking at the variables as they relate to one another, it is simple to see

that there is a direct correlation between length of relationship and number of

times abused in the last year. These results show that women in longer

relationships show that there are a number of factors that may be include d in

the amount of abused that comes out of those relationships. Thought here are

a number of issues that may develop over 15 years, techniques should be used

to stop this type of behavior. The result of this analysis shows that individuals

with longer relationships resort to physical abuse as an option for dealing

with their partner. Though this is not acceptable this study could be analyzed

and used to help abusive individuals.

Next, the study confirmed that there were not many individuals that were

analyzed in the multivariate study, that were abused in the last year. Without

categorizing race, the people that were most accounted for were black and

white women. The results show that those who were under category 3,which

included Hispanic, Asian, and all other races, were less likely to have these

same effects. This information is interesting and shows that the problem of

length of relationship and the amount of times abused in ends up being a

problem for black and white women.

Discussion continued

This study may open ones eyes to the way in which individuals handle their

anger. Though physical abuse should not be an option, we see that Black and

White women are faced with this cruel reality more than any other races

represented in this study. The way that the study was created show that there

are many differences among individuals. These differences among us can

sometimes affect our futures and the safety that were may receive by being

involved in a relationship.
