PINNOCHIO

Introduction
Jiminy Ill bet a lot of you dont believe about a wish coming true, do you? Well, I
didnt too. Let me tell you what made me change my mind.
One night a long time ago.. as I wandered along the crooked streets, the only sign of
life was a lighted window in the shop of a wood carver named Geppetto. So I hopped
over and looked in.
(Curtains open)
Shelf after shelf of toys and then. Something else caught my eye. A puppet! All
strings and joints. Cute little fellow. (LKG)
(Enter Geppetto)
Geppetto Well, now, it wont take much longer.
Figaro Meow
Geppetto- Just a little more paint and hes all finished. I think hell be alright, dont
you Figaro?
Figaro Meow
Geppetto- Now I have just the name for you. PINOCCHIO! Do you like it Figaro? (Figaro
meows a no). Do you like it Pinocchio? (Shake the puppets head). That settles it.
Pinocchio it is!
You know Pinocchio I think Figaro is jealous of you. (Clock chimes) Oh, oh I wonder
what the time is? Its getting late, we must go to bed. Good night Pinocchio, my little
funny face.
He almost looks alive. Wouldnt it be nice if he was a real boy? Ah! Figaro, I forgot to
open the window. (Goes to open it) Look Figaro! A wishing star!
Star light, star bright first star I see tonight. I wish I might have the wish I made
tonight. Figaro, do you know what I wished for? (Figaro meows) I wished that my little
Pinocchio might be a real boy! Wouldnt that be nice?
Jiminy A very lovely thought but not at all practical.

Narrator - Jiminy Cricket cant sleep because of the clocks noise and Geppettos roar
(snore). That night when everyone was sound asleep the Blue Fairy comes down from
her star. A brilliant glow which grows more dazzling every minute. I is the wishing star.
FAIRY DANCE (UKG C)
Blue Fairy Good Geppetto, you have given so much happiness to others. You deserve
to have you wish come true. Little puppet made of pine, wake (the wand touches
Pinocchio) the gift of life is thine. (Pinocchio comes to life)
Jiminy Cricket Whew! What they cant do these days.
Pinocchio (Blinking his eyes and raising his wooden arm) I can move! I can talk! I can
walk!
Blue Fairy Yes Pinocchio, Ive given you life.
Pinocchio Why??
Blue Fairy Because tonight Geppetto wished for a real boy.
Pinocchio Am I a real boy?
Blue Fairy No, Pinocchio. To make Geppettos wish come true, will be entirely up to
you.
Pinocchio Up to me??
Blue Fairy Prove yourself brave, truthful and unselfish and someday you will be a
real boy.
Pinocchio A real boy!
Blue Fairy- You must learn to choose between right and wrong.
Pinocchio- Right....And wrong? (Looking at his hands) But how will I know?
Jiminy Cricket- How will he know?
Blue Fairy- Your conscience will tell you.
Pinocchio- What is a conscience?
Jiminy Cricket- A Conscience is that still small voice that people wont listen to.
Thats just the trouble with the world today.
Pinocchio- Are you my conscience?

Jiminy Cricket- Who me?

Blue fairy- Hmmm....Would you like to be Pinocchios conscience?
Jiminy Cricket- Yes.
Blue Fairy- Very well! What is your name?
Jiminy Cricket- Oh, Crickets the name. Jiminy Cricket.
Blue Fairy- Kneel, Mr. Cricket. I dub you Pinocchios conscience. Lord, High Keeper of
the Knowledge of right and wrong, Counselor in moments of temptation and guide
along the straight and narrow. Arise, Sir Jiminy Cricket. Now remember, Pinocchio, be
a good boy. And always let your conscience be your guide. (The Blue Fairy backs
slowly away )
Jiminy Cricket- Goodbye Milady.
Pinocchio- Goodbye.
Jiminy Cricket- All right. Sit down, son. Now you see the world is full of temptations.
Pinocchio- Temptation?
(Enter temptations) scary music
Jiminy Cricket- Yes temptations. Theyre the wrong things that seem right at the
time.
Pinocchio- Uh-uh. But Im going to do right!
Jiminy Cricket- Good and Im going to help you and anytime you need me, you
know,just whistle like this. (Sound of a whistle)
Pinocchio- Like this? (He tries but no sound comes and falls down) Crash Sound
Geppetto- Whos there?
Pinocchio- Its me.
Geppetto- Ahh! Its me.(Wakes up) Figaro! Theres somebody in here.
Figaro- Meow, Meow, Meow.
Geppetto- Shh! Careful now, Figaro. He might spring out on us at anytime. Hes in
here, somewhere.
Pinocchio- Here I am.

Geppetto- (Notices his puppet) Ohh! Pinocchio! How did you get down here?
Pinocchio- I fell down.
Geppetto- Oh you did. Ohh! You are talking! No, no, no, no!
Pinocchio- Yes and I can move too!
Geppetto- No, no you cant. Im dreaming in my sleep! Oh, wake me up! Wake me up!
(Picks up a bucket of water and pour it on himself) Splash. Now we see whos
dreaming. Go on..... say something.
Pinocchio- Oh. Your funny. Do it again.
Geppetto- You do talk!
Pinocchio- Yes the Blue Fairy came.
Geppetto- The Blue Fairy?
Pinocchio - Yes and I got a conscience too.
Geppetto A conscience?
Pinocchio And someday.... Im going to be a real boy!
Geppetto A real boy! Its my wish, its come true! Figaro look! Hes alive, he can talk!
Say hello to Figaro.
Pinocchio Say hello to Figaro.
Geppetto Oh Cleo! I almost forgot. Look, its Pinocchio! Shes my cute little water
baby. Isnt she cute?
Pinocchio Isnt she cute?
Geppetto Little man youve had a busy day. Now, close your eyes and go to sleep.
Pinocchio Why?
Geppetto Oh, everybody has to sleep and besides youve got school tomorrow.
Pinocchio Why do I have to go to school?
Geppetto Oh to learn things and get smart.
Dark (Scene change)

Narrator (Lekhya) Next morning the school bells ring out over the village. (School
bell rings) All boys go to school and so is Pinocchio.
Enter school children and Honest John
Pinocchio - Tra la la la (Honest John trips him)
Honest John (Vishvesh) Oh how clumsy of me! Im terribly sorry. I hope youre not
injured?
Pinocchio Im alright.
Honest John Heres your book.
Pinocchio Thank you. Im going to school.
Honest John School! Thats not an interesting place. What is your name?
Pinocchio Pinocchio
Jiminy Cricket (Running) Whew! Fine conscience I turned out to be! Late on the first
day! Oh well, he cant get in much trouble between here and school.
Honest John Instead of going to school, well go watch the parade.
PARADE
Honest John Now Pinocchio lets go to the theatre.
Jiminy Cricket Hey Pinocchio, take it easy now. Remember, what I said about
temptations? Well, thats him.
Pinocchio Oh no Jiminy, thats Mr. Honest John.
Jiminy Cricket You cant go to the theatre. Youve got to go to school. (He goes with
his new friend)
Pinocchio No Jiminy I want to go to the theatre. Goodbye Jiminy.
Jiminy Cricket Whatll do? Ill run and tell his papa. Ummm. No, Ill go after him.
Narrator Pinocchio and Honest John walk towards the theatre. In the distance
Pinocchio sees the bright lights and gets very excited.

TRUMPET
Stromboli (Pratik) Ladies and gentlemen, to begin the performance of this great
show Stromboli, the master showman, thats me. And special permission of the
management, thats me too, is presenting to you something absolutely refuse to
believe!
Puppet dance (J Lo-On the floor instrumental)
Stromboli Introducing the only marionette that can sing and dance absolutely
without the aids of strings, I hope so. The one... and only... Pinocchio! (Applause)
Puppet dance to the choir song- Ive got no strings
Stromboli- Very well, well done Pinocchio! Here is your reward. (Gives him gold coins)
Pinocchio Thank you sir. I needed the money to buy mu papa a new coat.
Narrator- And Pinocchio left theater and started walking to school. Then he heard
someone calling him.
Pratik B (cat)- Well, well well Are you in hurry, little boy ?
Pinocchio- Yes, I am going to buy my papa a new coat.
Cat Oh, come on Thats not enough money to buy a coat. Wouldnt you like to
have more?
Pinocchio- Yes, but how?
Cat- Thats easy. If you plant your coins in the field of miracles, a plant will grow and
it will give you a lot of money.
Pinocchio- And where is that field?
Fox( Aditya W) We will take you there.
Narrator- So the cat and the fox, who were in face two liars and thieves took
Pinocchio to a faraway place.
Pinocchio Is this the place?
Fox and cat- Yes it is. This is the place where you will give us your money!
Pinocchio- But you said
Cat- I know what I said!
Fox Didnt they tell you not to trust strangers?
Narrator Then they took Pinocchios money and left him there by himself.

Pinocchio Help, help.. Somebody help me. Jiminy.. Where are you Jiminy?
Narrator The Blue Fairy suddenly appears.
Blue Fairy Pinocchio, why didnt you go to school?
Pinocchio- School? Well I (hesitates)
Jiminy Cricket- Go ahead, tells her.
Pinocchio I was going to school till I met somebody.
Blue Fairy- Met somebody.
Pinocchio Yes. Two big monsters! With big green eyes.
Blue Fairy- Monsters? Werent you afraid?
Pinocchio No I wasnt and they tied me in big sack.
Blue Fairy And where was Sir Jiminy?
Pinocchio Uh, Uh, Uh
Jiminy Cricket I was somewhere around.
Narrator The more Pinocchio embroiders his adventures, the more his nose grows.
Blue Fairy How did you escape?
Pinocchio I didnt they chopped me into firewood! Oh, Oh! Look my nose! Whats
happened?
Blue Fairy Perhaps you havent been telling the truth, Pinocchio.
Pinocchio- Oh, but I have! Every single word! Oh please help me! Im awfully sorry.
Blue Fairy- You see, Pinocchio, a lie keep growing and growing its as plain as the nose
on your face.
Pinocchio- Ill never lie again, I promise.
Blue Fairy- Ill forgive you this once,but remember, a boy who wont be good might
just as well be made of wood. This is the last time I can help you.
Narrator- She touches him with her wand and Pinocchios nose comes back to normal.
Jimmy cricket- Lets get out of here before something else happens.
Narrator- When Pinocchio and Jimmy were on their way home, they met two girls who
were laughing and joking.

Pinnochio- Why are you laughing?

Girl-1 We are going to fun land.
Pinocchio- what kind of place is that? Ive never heard of that place?
Girl-2 -Its a place where theres a party everyday! There are no schools and no
teachers.
Girl-1 Do you want to come with us?
Pinnocchio- Yes, Id love too.
Jimmy- No pinocchio......wait....
FUNLAND DANCE. AKCENT-HAPPY FACES
Narrator Then the Blue Fairy appeared.
Blue Fairy- Didnt you promise you would go to school?
Pinocchio- yes, I have been there.
Narrator- And then his nose started changing.
Pinacchio- uh, uh..I am sorry...I lied again.
Blue fairy- Go home, Pinocchio!
Pinocchio- yes, Blue fairy.
Narrator- He went home, but Geppetto wasnt there. Then he heard someone calling
him .
Neighbour- Pinocchio! Pinocchio!
Pinocchio- Whats wrong?
Neighbour- Pinocchio, I was at the beach and I saw Geppetto going into the water,
when suddenly a big whale swallowed him!
Pinocchio- Lets go, I have to save him!
Narrator- They both went to the beach.
Pinocchio- You stay here, I will go into the water and find that whale.(storm)

Narrator-When the whale appeared again, it swallowed him too. When he was inside
the whale he saw Geppetto and they both hugged each other.
Pinocchio- We have to get out of here. We will burn a fire so that the whale opens its
mouth.
Narrator- And they did. When they were out of the whales mouth they swam towards
the beach. They were very happy and danced with all the sea animals (LKG D,E,F)
Then the Blue Fairy appeared.
Blue Fairy- Pinocchio, you have risked you life to save the life of your father. Your
dream will come true!
Narrator- And the Blue Fairy touched Pinocchio with her magic wand.
Pinocchio- Look at me papa. I am a real boy!
Grand Finale- choir Puppet on a string
