inspiration for the overall idea and/or is apparent in
one or more components of the project.
Viability
Idea represents a unique solution or innovative

Idea demonstrates highly creative thinking and is
unique in its development or application.
Differentiation / Competitor Analysis
Effort has been put into identifying existing similar
solutions, and how the teams project is unique or
offers an improved approach.

Digital Media and Movie Making: Storyboard,
script, shoot, and edit a 5-minute documentary
short.
Game Design and Development: Design, develop
and implement a working video game.
Digital Modeling and Animation: Design, develop,
and render a 3D model or simulation.
Health
Focus is on the 21st century healthcare consumer.
FHST: Product or service will benefit the 21st
century healthcare consumer.
Public Health: Project addresses a challenge faced
by public health organizations in this country or
world wide..
Medical Science: The solution is feasible and will
benefit future research, diagnosis, or prevention.

Course-specific Criteria
Science & Math
Hypothesis of each experiment is clear, testable
and logical (at least one is required.)
Experimental methodology is scientifically valid
with appropriate variables identified
(independent, dependent, and controlled).
Experimental methodology is based on
background research of at least three scientifically
credible sources.
At least one scientifically credible advisor
provided input that is clearly incorporated.
Technology & Business
Target market research and documented evidence
including, but not limited to:
Surveys (Skills21, Mobile App, and E-Commerce)
Infographic illustrating the problem and how it
might be solved (Skills21).
Alpha and Beta testing (Mobile App).
Focus groups (E-Commerce).
Digital Media
Storyboarding, scripts, artwork, photography, etc.,
that demonstrate the development of the digital
media project are present. Footage includes a
minimum of one professional in the field.
Health
Projects must contain documented research such as
surveys and any consultations with experts. (No
experiments are required.)

tables, graphics, etc.

hypothesis or lead to a logical redesign of the
experimental method to appropriately adapt the
hypothesis.
Technology & Business
Skills21: Qualitative and quantitative evidence of
community support for campaign, progress, and
effectiveness.
Mobile App: Qualitative evidence of iterative
design based on feedback from research.
E-Commerce: Financial analysis includes startup
costs and break-even.
E-Commerce: Forecast future projections of the
service/solution based on your data analysis.
Digital Media
DM3: Results of data analysis relevant to the
project development should be present
GD2: Results need to be present in concept
statement.
Health
Use of data analysis is evident in the project.

development of the experimental methodology.

Project documentation, including the following:
Company/team intro and executive summary.
Clear description of problem and solution.
Target market research and campaign information
Unified design scheme.
Skills21: Project documentation and published
press release, op-ed, and/or advocacy letter.
Mobile App: White paper and content & technical
specs.
