My name is Tanaya Yuka Prihatma, I was born on June 22 nd, 1987. I graduated from Gadjah Mada University
faculty of History, it was start from 2006 to 2010 and my GPA score is 3.71/4.00 at this stage I got cum
laude.
I am a person who really likes organization. Ive joined the scout organization from 2006 to 2012, at 2009
until 2011 I was chosen as a chairman at the organization. As a chairman I have to manage all the agendas
and execute them by organizing the departments in a solid team work. Start from 2011, I was accepted as a
teacher at Budi Mulia Dua senior high school. My subject material is history; history of Indonesia and also
the world. While I am teaching history at Budi Mulia Dua senior high school, I also joining to the education
department of history to strengthen my teaching knowledge and skill.
I have still great thirst for more education. Talking about the significant of history; by studying history I can
find the value of past times and this knowledge is very important to make a better future. History is a science
that is very useful, since the ancient time to the present history is always written by man. I am particularly
interested in education research and making instructional media. I am applying for the same and I believe
that this Masters program would polish my skills more.
Why I register scholarship to Korea? Reading the books, watching the news, analyzing and observing the
Korean people, I am really impressed by the way these individuals have proved themselves to be dedicated to
their work and with true efforts they have set South Korea as a successful example for other third world or
developed countries. The fast growing economy, technological advancement and the global ranking
education institutes of South Korea with high reputation makes a great aspiration to the students and
professionals for the better career perspectives. Thus such kind of positivity has boosted my confidence
further and I am highly satisfied with the decision I have taken. Korea is one of the countries in Asia that is
experiencing economic miracle. South Korea in 1950s and 1960s is one of the poorest county in the world
with income per-capita less than $ 100 per household compared to the poorest counties in sub-Saharan region
in Africa today. Sixty years later, South Korea become a country with the 12 th largest economy in the world
with GDP of more than US $ 1 billion per year and per capita income more than $ 32,000. By studying in
Korea, I can learn the culture, character, technology, and education system that bring Korean into the golden
era.
Especially, i want to study abou traditional Confucian concepts, like the cultivation of the self in regards to
the student, seem to have disappeared from the Korean educational system entirely, replaced by rote learning
and studying to the exclusion of all else until one has completed the university entrance examination. It is my
view that certain western concepts, such as universal education, often regarded as the founder of modern
education are of great benefit to the Korean educational system, whereas the effect of an increasingly
materialistic society on the perceived function of education and the monetary outlay of parents to provide it
for their children despite a lack of benefits aside from examination success have a distinctly negative impact.
All these reasons put together make China an ideal place for me to do my Masters degree.

I want to apply for a scholarship to korea with choosing majors history education in accordance with my
occupational qualifications. By studying the history of education, the

3. I want to know that the people preserve Korean culture amid modernization.
To support my learning objectives then my research focuses on the study of comparative studies of
education in Indonesia, especially education national in Indonesia with educational value in korea especially
confuciansime. This study relies on the development of teaching, changing times, until these values can be
conserved until today in korea. It is can be adapt to Indonesia educational system. How the Kortea education
can be integrated Confucianisme valuae to the living Korean behavior. Especially, how to Pancasilan can be
living value for Indonesia people, making Korean treatment.
My detaild research to support subject research. First semester, i want to study about the Korean education
system and confucianisme theoritical. Sercond semester, i can observe the Korean behavior. It can see into
korean peopele activity, especially the student in Korea. Thirs semester, i can found the several data into
Korean education education, school, student, etc and also i can do colecct some data in Indonesia. Last
semester, i can write reserch.

If I get this scholarship and I go back teaching at school or university, I will make changes and progresses
toward these things:
1. Developing the science of history, especially for methods and methodology.
2. Developing the teaching methods that make the delivery process fascinating to the students.
3. Developing the history of social science approach.
4. Making a development to the study of history
5. Creating an interesting instructional media for history subject. Instructional media is designed to
enable students to learn the materials.
6. Striving to give the need of the students when there is no meeting in the class. Need of learners can
be textbooks, exercise books, stationary, and so on. Other thing that is important is extra-curricular
activities, such as chanting, traditional arts, scouts, and so foth.
7. In Indonesia, while getting a reasonable job any foreign qualified person is always preferred and
paid well. Also Indonesia is in a desperate need for foreign qualified persons and their skills for its
development. So in future when Ill return I am sure to get a good position to serve my country.

Sejarah Transformasi Pendidikan di Korea dari Konfucianisme hingga Generasi Baru Studi Banding dengan
sistem di Indonesia.
South Korea National Educational was transformation after 1945. Five decades after 1945, virtually all
South Korean were literate. All young people attended primary and middle schools, and ninety percent from
high school. There are over 180 collegees and universities in Korea. From the 1950s to the 1990s South
Korea was extreme end of correlation between the general level of education and the level of economic
development, with a higher level of educational attainment than other nations of comparable per capita
income.
The roots of this miracle in Korea within national educational and economic development are found in
Korea old tradition. Korean educational which formal learning usually associated with confucianism.
Confucianism entered Korea from China more than fifteen centuries ago. Confucianism was valued both as
a means of self-cultivation and as a way to achieve status and power. Learned confusianism could as a
moral exemplar and as a teacher and advisor to others. It was also seen as a means learned confusianism of
social mobility and status selection.
When korea occupation by Japanese colonial, mass primary education had only recently begun, and less
than five percent of adult population had more than an elemntary school education. There was only one
university in Korea, and most of its students were Japanese, not Korea. After liberation from Japan in 1945

National education in Indonesia usually means the education since independence of the nation as a
sovereign country. However, its origin is found in the effort of the people to provide their own education
during the period of colonization by the netherlnads and Japanese.
Education Indonesia was apprentent in the education movements developed by indonesiaan in early 20th
century. One is the movement thaht was born out of the demand for education from religious group,
partuculary Islam; and the other is educational movenment that grew out of the political aim of national
independence.
The educational movement based on Islam was born established in 1900s and educational movement for
nationalism was born established in 1926. In the future, two based educational movement direction by
Goverment. Educational based on Islam unders order the ministry of religion and educational based
nationalism under order the ministry of education and culture.

After Indonesia Independence, Indonesia formulated the philosophical basis for indpendent Indonesia. The
Philosop[hical has been interpreted differently in conecetion with various ideologies of each pertiod. The
philosophical prescribed in the indonesia constitution call Pancasila. Pancasila consist of five insperable and
mutually qualifiying principles:
1. beliefd in the one and only gos
2. just and civilized humanity
3. the unity of Indonesia.
4. democracy guided by the inner wisdom in the unanimity out of deliberations amongst representatives.
5. social justice for all the indonesia people.
Pancasila is the national princilples in the preamble on the 1945 constitution. Pancasila was made as the
basis national education after Indonesia independence. Pancasila came to be intrepreted moral education.
Pancasila is the central role in permeating the spirit among school children. The treatment of Pancasila has
changed in the framework of civic education as subject in the school.
But now, Indonesia people has a problem with education system. Education priority in Indonesia is
intelegence, little bit about idea for a live behavior. Indonesian fall into debating about idea. Idea about
purpose of education. Indonesia education confuse will break with tradition or modernization. Indonesian
people doesnt have self-confidence, in the other country Indonesian become labor in abroad.
Now, I want to research how to living value teaching in Korea, particularry confucianism. Confucianism is
important for contemporary as morally tranformative in South Korea. Moral Education can be able to
appliying in the moral education in Indonesia, particularry Pancasila. Pancasila as well as Confucianism
included in the idea off the people Indonesia
Research Objectives
According to education of history in South Korea are Korean people labeled the education sydrome, has
deep roots in Korea traditional respect for knowledge and deep belief in continuous, life-long human
development. This emphasis on learning derive largely from Confucian belief.
Different with Indonesia Education, is stagnan on the modernization era. Indonesia education has confusing
to making goal of education sytem. History of education indonesia sytem was changeable.

1. How to modern education and traditional value/confucianism accepted by Korean and succeed?
2. Why the modern education and tarditional value/pancasila difficult to realize in Indonesian behavior?
3. How to improve the metodology education in Korea abaout living value, addapted in Indonesian
education system?
Detailed Research Plan
Despite the importance of education in Korean society both at present and over the course of Korean
history. Korean people all have deep, vested interents in South Koreas education System and have
struggled for the systems soul. South Korea has been anxious aboaut how it can absorb modern social and
cultural influences in a way tahat will not endanger or destroy its traditional beliefs and values.

been too radical for attitudes toward education to be more continuations of traditional attitudes that. There

Researcher will be look for confucianisme value in South Korea adapt to Indonesia role model moral
education. Researcher bound the observe in the Korea School, may be Senior High School and research to
Indonesia in National School and Islamic School. Researcher wants tobe the study learn adapted how living
value teach in Korea and can be adapt method living value in Indonesia.
Research Methodology
1. Conduct a literature review on history of education in South Korea and Indonesia, Confusianisme,
Pancasila, universal living value, and educational system in Korea and Indonesia.
2. Observe the educational system in the school on the Korea and Indonesia with a sample, focusing
mostly on educational impact at behavior society.
3. interview to clarify and provide insight into educational system. I will interview with someone likes
children school, parents, alumnus, teacher and public service ofeducation. While the interviews will
not be formal or structured, the kinds of question I will ask include the following. The general
strategy for the interview is to start off which broad question and follow up on the interviewees
responese, to capture her or his meaning and to avoid imposing my meanings on the interviewee:
a. tell me about living value after you studied from school.
b. what were you thinking during impact yours idea about living value?
c. what was you did to do in the daily activities?
d. Waht didi you mean when you said, ....?
e. When you think about what you did and said in that conversation, how would you describe
abaout yourself?

5. Write a research report that combines my understnading of the relevant theory and previous
research with result of my empirical research

4. Can be role models transformation from traditional value and global value
5. Incresing knowledge and theoritical teaching methodology in Indonesia.
