PAID INTERNSHIPS
 JPL/DICE Surge & Backfill Technical Support Services ($17-20/hr)
Cardinal Technologies is looking for temporary Technical Support Specialists (Help Desk) to work in
our Pasadena, CA office. Qualified candidates will be called upon as needed to backfill for existing
staff on extended leave and for short term surge support. Ideal candidates should have Experience
using and supporting Mac’s and/or PC’s (Both is better). Experience using and supporting mobile
devices (cell phones, PDA’s, iPhones, BlackBerries, etc.). Experience working with help desk
management and automated call distribution systems. Physical ability to comfortably lift and carry
objects weighing between 20-40 pounds on a regular basis. Detail oriented, with the ability to work
independently. Ability to work through problems over the phone. Ability to interact confidently with
end users. Demonstrated commitment to superior customer service. We have an immediate need to
identify and hire a candidate for a six-week timeframe beginning in May 2010 and another in the July
timeframe. We will be scheduling interviews for the week of April 12, 2010. Successful candidates
may also have an opportunity for long term employment. Compensation is commensurate with
experience and in range of $17 - $20 per hour. Interested parties should send their resumes to Dan

 Los Angeles County Arts Commission – Summer Internship Program ($3500 stipend)
The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors established the Arts Internship Program (which
provides internships for nonprofit performing, presenting, literary, and municipal arts organizations)
as a companion program to the Getty Multicultural Internship Program (which provides internships to
museums and visual arts organizations). The purpose of the County's program is to provide
undergraduate students with meaningful on-the-job training and experience in working in nonprofit
arts organizations, while assisting arts organizations to develop future arts leaders. This program is a
10 week paid summer internship (40 hours/week) for 125 full-time undergraduate college students.
Students are paid $350/week to work with a nonprofit arts organization within Los Angeles County.
Nonprofits include various performing, presenting, and literary arts organizations, and local agencies.
Interns also participate in several educational events. Undergraduates and graduating seniors may
apply. Students must have completed at least one semester of college by June 2010, and be currently
enrolled (full-time) in a community college or a four year university. Graduating seniors are eligible
only if they are to complete their undergraduate degree by September 1st, 2010. Students must
either reside in Los Angeles County or attend school in Los Angeles County. Candidates are
welcome from all areas of undergraduate study and are not required to have demonstrated a previous
commitment to the arts. A number of the 125 internship postings are currently posted on connectSC.

 FDIC – Analyst Intern ($17.27-19.33/hr)


Within the Student Temporary Employment Program (STEP), the Financial Institution & Consumer
Protection Analyst position is a one-year temporary appointment in Los Angeles beginning as early as
June 2010, and requires a minimum of 20 hours and a maximum of 40 hours per week. The analyst
will assist in a wide variety of activities related to Financial Institution and Consumer Protection
matters, including the use of a variety of software applications needed to generate data to create and
finalize memorandums, reports, charts and graphs for distribution to stakeholders. The analyst may
also contribute to the development of presentations related to Financial Institution and Consumer
Protection matters. The individual selected for this position will routinely be answering phones,
retrieving and scanning files and records, prepare a variety of documents, reports, and correspondence
in final format, ensuring correct punctuation, spelling, grammar and conformance to FDIC style, and
perform others duties as assigned. Applicant should be comfortable working on teams, balancing
multiple tasks with overlapping delivery dates, and shifting gears when new priorities arise. Office
Location: 5150 Goldleaf Circle, Suite 405, Los Angeles, CA 90056. To be eligible for this position, a
candidate must be a degree-seeking student enrolled for the upcoming term at an institution
accredited according to U.S. Department of Education requirements, taking at least a half-time course
load, as defined by the school for the entire duration of the one-year internship (June 2010-2011). The
candidate must maintain a GPA of 2.0 on a 4.0 grading scale each term. Send your application (Form

 Chrysler Group – Summer Internship


Marketing or Advertising major for a Summer internship to work directly with the CEO of Chrysler
Group and his senior staff to develop the Fiat North American marketing strategy. Must be a full time
student majoring in marketing or advertising, with strong digital focus skills. GPA must be 3.5 and

 USC – Scientific Editing Intern ($10hr)


Project consists of making numerical modeling/applied math class notes and computer exercises
available online in coherent form. Job consists of organizing Matlab scripts, scientific
typesetting/transcribing of lecture notes, and light web editing. Familiarity with the Latex typesetting
software required. Some exposure to Matlab and applied math a plus. Send CV as PDF. Log-in to

 InStyle Magazine – Editorial Intern ($8/hr)


InStyle Magazine’s Los Angeles bureau seeks an intern to perform entry-level tasks such as making
copies, transcribing interviews, updating Excel and Word documents and researching celebrity
contacts for our upcoming events. Applicants must be available to start April 1 or sooner and work
full-time (M-F, 10 am - 5:30 pm) for at least three months. Please DO NOT apply if you cannot make
this time commitment. This is a paid internship (minimum wage). Prior experience within the

UNPAID INTERNSHIPS
 ABC Extreme Makeover Home Edition – Casting Intern
Extreme Makeover: Home Edition’s Casting Department is seeking smart, organized and ambitious
college students to fill part-time unpaid internships for the summer semester! Responsibilities will
include sitting in on weekly pitch meetings, opening mail, assisting casting producers, and various
light administrative duties. We entrust our interns with a lot of responsibility as many of our current
employees once interned for us. This internship is a great opportunity to gain hands on experience in
several exciting on site departments for a prime time network show! Internship is unpaid. School
credit is a must! Applicant should possess strong communication skills, an entrepreneurial spirit and
the ability to multi-task. Must also have a laptop computer and reliable means of transportation. The
internship will last the entire summer semester (dates are flexible to work around school schedule).

 American Diabetes Association – Marketing & Communications Intern (2 Openings)


The American Diabetes Association is looking for sophomore, junior and senior intern candidates for
its busy Marketing and Communications department. We provide a hands-on learning environment
