Course Code: Values Education 3


Course Title: Socio- Cultural Anthropological and Legal Bases of Values Education
Course Description: Provides the sociological and anthropological theories and legal perspective in values formation. Various schools of thought and legal provisions such as the
Constitution and Universal Declarations in values development are reviewed and analyzed in relation to the Filipino learner, his/her values and the valuing process and how they
serve as bases for values teaching.
General Objectives:
1. To familiarize oneself with the knowledge and understanding of the socio-cultural, anthropological and legal bases of values education.
2. To examine the Philippine Constitution and pertinent laws on these promote values education among Filipinos through the Philippine educational system.
3. To appreciate our institutions: the family, schools, government and church especially in their role in values formation.
4. To commit oneself in supporting the family, schools, government and church in their role in values education.
