About GSSSIETW, Mysuru:

Geetha Shishu Shikshana Sangha(R) is the outcome of the

vision and initiative of Late. Prof. B.S.Pandit Former
Professor and Head Department of Physics, SJCE, Mysuru.
His vision was to provide quality technical education to
girls. The Institution reflects the ideals of its founder and
seeks to achieve excellence as an academic institution and
advanced research centre. The vision of the management
is commitment to provide good governance resulting in
progress of the institution.
GSSSIETW is one of the most reputed colleges in the state
and Mysuru region established in 2003. It is housed in a
sprawling campus of 14 acres with fabulous structure of
international standards, built up area of over 3,00,000
sq.ft, with well ventilated Class Rooms, Departmental
Laboratories, Workshop, Library & Information Center,
EduSat Center, Computer Center, Meditation Hall,
Placement & Training Cell, Industry Institute Interaction
Center, Digital Library and much more.
The institute offers 6 UG courses and 2 M.Tech courses in
Engineering program and MBA in management program.
The college also offers Ph.D. program in E&C, Chemistry
and MBA which are affiliated to VTU, Belagavi.

About the Department:

Department of EEE has a Professional and enthusiastic
group of academicians who regularly involve in research.
The department has well equipped labs and good
infrastructure support with a vision to quality based
education. The department has an active renewable
energy club called Akshaya Urja Club (AUC) sponsored by
Karnataka renewable energy development limited (KREDL)
under which third party inspection of rural solar
electrification was done. Many awareness programs for
school children are also arranged under AUC.

The future of energy supply is a key challenge of the 21st

century, as demands for energy become ever larger and
traditional supplies are dwindling. In particular, the
challenge to reduce our dependency on fossil fuels is
driven by both concerns about climate change and the
need to increase security of supply. Research on energy
addresses both conventional (fossil fuel) and renewable
sources of energy. Renewable energy technologies are
clean sources of energy that have a much lower
environmental impact than conventional energy
technologies.
This Program is intended to provide participants an
overview of various renewable energy sources, conversion
devices and technologies and also the principles of
working and prospects of its applications to large scale
systems.
