Registration of Instruments of Dealings

1.2.1 The necessity of having dealings in alienated land or any interest in it registered

Certain dealings in alienated land or interest in it is required under NLC to be


registered.

Purposes: fast, economic and with certainty

Definition of alienated land and interest in alienated land

Persons/bodies in whose favour dealings are capable of being effected

Execution of an instrument of registrable dealing: s 210(1)
How to execute: s 210(2), (3) & proviso
How does the following body execute the instruments?

Co-operative society registered under Co-operative Societies Act 1993;

Body corporate established by Federal / State law;
o
Society established under Societies Act 1966 (if it owns a land not in the
name of trustees);
o
Sovereign or government under Diplomatic and Consular Privileges
Ordinance 1957.

Attestation of an instrument of registrable dealing: s 211
