Official Rules
General Rules
1. Maximum of 18 players will be allowed per team
2. All players must present a valid student ID card and HKID showing their
identities of representing their university.
3. Teams must be ready for their games 10 minutes before the scheduled time, if
not opponents will win by default
4. Rolling substitutions apply
5. A send-off (red card) shall result in a suspension of one match. Two warnings
(yellow cards) accumulated in different matches shall result in a suspension of
one match. The player will serve his suspension immediately in the next game
6. 5 will be charged for each yellow card and 20 will be charged for a red card
7. Decision from the referees are to be respected
8. The committee of CUHKS holds authority over any circumstances; this
includes adjusting the duration of matches, final decision on any
disputes and etc. We strive to be fair and reasonable throughout the
day.
Group Stage
1. 9 teams will be divided into 2 groups, each group with 5 teams
2. 40 minutes per game, 20 minutes half time, max 5 minute interval, call up
after 3 minutes.
3. Win = 3 points, Draw = 1 point, Lose = 0 point
4. The first and second teams from each groups will straightly proceed to quarterfinals
5. If teams are having same points in group-stage, their ranking will be depended
in their goal difference from the 3 games
6. If the goal difference is still the same, then teams with better goal scores
proceeds. If still the same for everything, we will have a penalty kicks between
the corresponding teams
Semi Finals, 2nd Runner up and Final
1. 40 minutes per game, 20 minutes half time, max 5 minute interval, call up
after 3 minutes.
2. Penalty kicks of 5 rounds will determine the winner if the result is a draw after
minutes
3. Sudden Death of Penalty Kicks if the score-line stays the same after 5rounds of
penalty kicks

*We may charge you, deduct your points in group-stage and the qualification of
your team in the following circumstances:
1.
If
your players are not belonging to the university but playing for it
2.
If
the players involve in behaviour such as violence etc.
3.
If
the squad contains more than the number of players which can be play in the
pitch.

3. Teams must be ready for their games 10 minutes before the scheduled time

5. Only captain of the team is allowed to enquire the judge
6. 20 will be charged for a single players being sent off
7. Decision from the referees are to be respected
8. Normal Rules will be followed by the Official Basketball Rules (The International
Basketball Federation), including 3 seconds violation
9. The committee of CUHKS holds authority over any circumstances; this
includes adjusting the duration of matches, final decision on any
disputes and etc. We strive to be fair and reasonable throughout the
day.
Group Stage
1. 9 teams will be divided into 2 groups, one group with 4 teams, one group with
5.
2. 12 minutes per game, no half time.
3. The first and second teams in each group will straightly proceed to semi-final
4. Maximum of 1 timeout of 1 minute per team in each game
5. Stopwatch throughout the match, except for timeouts
6. Only 4 team fouls for each half. After 5 personal fouls, the opponent team will
get 2 free throws
7. Win = 3 points, Draw = 1 point, Lose = 0 point
8. If teams are having same points in group-stage, their ranking will be depended
in their field goalsfrom the group-stage games
9. If the field goals are the same, we will have a sudden death of free throws
between those two teams.
Semi Finals, 2nd Runner up and Final
1. Game will be held at Cardiff University Sports Training Village - Talybont, CF14
3AT. Coach service will be provided for those teams.
2. 18 or 15 (depends on time) minutes per game, 9 or 7.5 minutes half time, 2
minutes interval
3. Maximum of 2 timeout of 1 minute per team in each game
4. Only 4 team fouls for each half. After 5 personal fouls, the opponent team will
get 2 free throws
5. Stopping clock in the last 1 minute
6. In the event of a tie between two teams, extra time period of 2 minutes will be
played; the Golden Score method will be used to decide the winner if the game is
still tied after extra time
