To introduce learners to job application forms and to help them set out
their details and experience in writing.
Materials:

Preparation:
In class:
1) Ask students to brainstorm what is needed in a job application form and what
information employers will need (vocabulary building: 15 minutes).
2) Students are given the template to help them prepare. Tutor looks at the
template and answers questions.
3) Tutor hands out completed form to help students complete their own
templates.
4) Tutor asks students to complete forms for homework.
Variation:
Students bring in real forms that they wish to complete or tutor cuts out
simple job advertisements from the newspaper/web for students to
examine and write their own job advertisements.
Assessment: The task helps prepare learners for the following summative
assessment:
Intermediate 2 English for Work and Study Outcomes 1, 2 & 3
