NATIONAL NARCOTIC

ISSUE THAT EFFECTS AND

IMPACTS LIVE IN CHURCH
AND CHRISTIANITY

Shalom, First of all I Thank Jesus Christ for allowing us all to be here in
GMIM Musafir Kleak. Only by His grace we can all be here in a good and healthy
condition. Thank You for the opportunity that has been given to me to deliver my
speech.
Good Morning, Panel of Judges and to all my beloved friends, I believe we
are all aware of the narcotic issue in our country, Narcotic or known better as
drugs is an illegal substance made out of many kinds of harmful substance that
can make the user hallucinate, lose consciousness, and can eventually kill the
user.
This issue is killing approximately 50 of this countrys young generation
each day according to the National Narcotics Agency. The National Narcotics
Agency recorded that a total of approximately 4.2 million Indonesians use
narcotics of any kind, that leads to a financial lost for the country as big as Rp. 63
Trillion each year to rehabilitate and deal with this issue. There arent any positive
result from using drugs.
Indonesia is just a beautiful market for the drug dealers since there is a lot
of people here, approximately 250 million people, with many land and sea borders
it makes the drug smugglers easier to illegally enter Indonesia. After entering
Indonesian territory undetected they start distributing drugs to drug brokers that
will sell it to people, drugs are not only imported by land and sea, sometimes they
smuggle it through airports too, and if the airports are not equipped with
sophisticated machines that can detect it, the smugglers will easily succeed with
distributing the drugs in the country.
Friends and panel of judges that I cherish most, There has been a lot of
issue here in the land of 1001 Churches or better known as Minahasa, some
teenagers are caught using and distributing all kinds of drugs, we do know that
this intolerant action destroys future and causes lives to be destroyed, do we want

our kids and grandkids to be conquered by drugs ? do we want the Church to

fall because of drugs ? of course not. Recently, 3 days ago I went to an education
seminar by Mr. HC James T Riady, he was talking about his experience in the
Netherlands, he said he landed there on Saturday, after leaving the airport he
went to find a church for Sunday service the next morning but he said it is very
hard to find a church there, although Dutch was the central of Christianity in
Europe, this shows that the population of Church around the world is decreasing
because human tend to find self satisfaction in worldly ways such as drugs and
others. What can we do to prevent this from happening ?, As followers of Jesus
Christ we are demanded to follow Gods words and statutes, we have to make
sure that our kids and grandkids know and follow Gods words.
Back to the issue, majority of drug users are in the productive age from 13
25, the number one factor of this issue is broken home families. All education
starts from family especially holistic and spiritual Christian education are primarily
from family, parents should teach their kids about God and his commandments.
Kids from broken home families tend to have disorders in their life, joining gangs
and lost their way in life, they are forced to try drugs by their broken friends and
eventually addicted to that illegal substance, destroying their future. Church
should intensify their works in this kind of horrid days because there is a chance
that your kids and kids from your grandkids will not know about God and Church
since the terrifying world is effecting lives to find self satisfaction in worldly ways,
the world wants to show that you are the controller of yourself, youre not
controlled by anyone, but all of us Followers of Christ know for sure that they are
wrong, we were given life by God and we should live according to Gods words.
As young Church generations and the generation of this country, we have
been warned thousand of years ago through the statute of the LORD which
sounds, Honor your father and your mother: that your days may be long on the
and which the LORD your God gives you, Exodus 20:12. We do not want our
future to be broken because of drugs, we want to be successful, and we have to
share the message of God to other people who havent believe in God. An
important note for the parents, please take care of your kids, because family who

loves God and live with his commandments are blessed and for sure will live a
happy life.
Let us fight against drugs to save young generations from destroying their
future and to save the Church because after all, us all the young generations are
the future leaders of our beloved country Indonesia, and are the ones who will
continue the reign of the Church organization especially GMIM to fulfill the
evangelical mission and let the world know about God, Halleluya !
That is my speech, I am sorry if there is any word that I miss pronounced or
if there is any words that hurt the feelings or doesnt satisfy the Panel of judges
