For each of your e-mail accounts, find the type of e-mail account (POP3, IMAP or HTTP), the name of the incoming mail server
(example: mail.isp.com) and the name of the outgoing, or SMTP, mail server (example: smtp.isp.com). This information can usually
be found in the provider's FAQ (frequently asked questions) file or by e-mailing the provider.

Start Outlook Express.

Select Accounts from the Tools menu. Click on the Mail tab.

Click Add on the right side of the box and choose Mail. The Internet Connection Wizard will appear.

Type the display name for the account (the name that appears in the From line of e-mail sent from that account). Click Next.

If you already have the new account, click the top radio button. Enter the name of the account and click Next.

Type the mail server information you collected in the first step. Be sure to type the information as it appears in your notes. Click
Next.

Type the user name as it appears on the account. The name is usually what precedes the address; for example, the account name
of feedback@ehow.com is "feedback."

Type the password to access the account. If the password is incorrect or you can't remember it, contact the e-mail provider.

Check the Remember Password box if you don't want Outlook to prompt you for the password each time it checks the mail.

Click Finish. Repeat as needed for all e-mail accounts.

Edit account properties by clicking on the name and choosing Properties from the list on the right.

After typing each address, click Add. The addresses will appear in the text field below the
text box.
10 If you were provided with domain suffix information, type it in the Domain Suffix Search
Order
text box.
After typing each suffix, click Add. The suffix(es) will appear in the text field below the text
box.

11 If your ISP provided WINS server information, select WINS Address.

12 Select FE573B-3Com 10/100 LAN CardBus-Fast Ethernet from the Adapter: drop down
list.
13 Type the primary and secondary server addresses in their respective text boxes.

14 If you were supplied with scope ID information, type it in the Scope ID: text box.

15 When you are finished, click OK.

The PC Card is now configured for broadband service.

Note: This document uses an AP that has an integrated antenna. If you use an AP which requires
an external antenna, ensure that the antennas are connected to the AP. Otherwise, the AP is
unable to connect to the wireless network. Certain AP models come with integrated antennas,
whereas others need an external antenna for general operation. For information on the AP models
that come with internal or external antennas, refer to the ordering guide/product guide of the
appropriate device.
The information in this document was created from the devices in a specific lab environment. All
of the devices used in this document started with a cleared (default) configuration. If your
network is live, make sure that you understand the potential impact of any command or setup in
the GUI.
Configure the Access Point
You can configure the AP with the use of any of these:
• GUI
• Command-line interface (CLI), after you establish a Telnet session
• The console port
Note: In order to connect to the AP through the console port, connect a nine-pin, straight-
through DB-9 serial cable to the RS-232 serial port on the AP and to the COM port on a
computer. Set up a terminal emulator in order to communicate with the AP. Use these
settings for the terminal emulator connection:
○ 9600 baud
 ○ 8 data bits
○ No parity
○ 1 stop bit
○ No flow control

Web in the same way. That's why Internet Explorer 5.5 has some
built-in flexibility that gives everyone ways to customize the
browser to fit their preferences.

As you consider the following ways to customize IE, keep in

mind that the starting place for many of these tips is the Internet
Options command in the Tools menu. The Internet Options
dialog box gives you a number of other ways to customize IE that are not included here.

Enable Multiple Users. If you share a computer with others and like to keep your
settings just the way they are, you should enable multiple users to log on under their own
name. By creating logon names and passwords for everyone who uses your PC, each
user can set and keep her own preferences for both Windows and IE.

To create another user profile, click the Start button and select Settings, Control Panel,
and Passwords. In the Passwords Properties dialog box, click the User Profiles tab and
then click the Users Can Customize Their Preferences… radio button. Then place a
check mark in the Include Start Menu And Program Groups In User Settings checkbox.
After you click OK, you'll be prompted to restart your computer. Do so by clicking Yes.

Now go back into the Control Panel and click Users. Click the New User button and then
follow the directions in the Add User wizard to successfully create another user. Be sure
that when you get to the Personalized Items Settings page, you check the Favorites
Folder and Downloaded Web Pages checkboxes and then click the Create New Items To
