Installation Instructions BMW sound upgrade

This guide is based on the following BMW-Type: E87 BMW 130i Facelift with standard
front-speaker system (10cm / 4 "wide strip and 16cm / 6" woofer under seat) Deviations
from these instructions on other BMW models can not be excluded

Required goods
1x 100FX GZRC
2-way component system
Extra-flat 100mm bass-midrange
- Coated paper cone -25mm silk
dome tweeter
- Adjustable Crossover
- 70 WRMS / Peak 110W / 4 Ohm

2x GZMW 200NEO
Extra-flat 20cm woofer
Neodymium magnet
-Coated paper cone
-100 WRMS / 150 W peak / 4 Ohm

1x GZBR 200BMW
-20cm steel adapter ring for
under-seat assembly instead of
GZMW 200NEO The BMW-woofer

1x 100FX GZRC

Phillips screwdriver PH 2

7mm & 8mm mouth, key-ring
Cordless screwdriver
3mm & 5mm drill
Ratchet with T50 Torx bit
Wire cutters
Plastic lever tool
Crimping pliers
Crushing red circular plug 10x

Installation instructions
1. First Removing door panel

(Please let down before the two windows)

3 screws per side


Using the plastic
Lever tool solve the
aperture. Please be
careful, because the
clips hard can be
solved.
1x Phillips head screw

After removing the covers please resolve these


screws: 1x Phillips & Phillips screw at the door
2x T20 torx on the door handle
2x Torx T20

With the help of the plastic lever tool


Remove the power window switch unit

Connector from

Solve them with the plastic lever


Tool step by step, each clip

Pull the door panel to the upper metal To solve clips.

Hold the panel with one hand and solve they plug
the speakers and facilitators with the other hand

Place the trim on a soft Foam pad.

AND

Remove the BMW speakers

2. Installation of the midrange

Remove the plastic ring GZRC


100FX and the grid You use the
BMW Speaker as a template.

Use a 3mm drill bit


to the 3 Mounting
predrilled holes

3mm drill for


pre-drilling
5mm drill bit to
widen the holes

Use the 5mm drill


bit to the mounting
Holes enlarge

Fix the midrange with 8x M4x16 screws


and nuts, as shown in the pictures.
To achieve the best possible result, You should attach foam
tape to seal the speaker.

Take the BMW bolts to the loudspeaker together with the To mount plastic adapter.

3. Installation of the crossover

Remove the plastic trim the crossover

Take Bonds & Seals silicone around the crossover


Board to fix the images accordingly. To attach the
board quickly, you can additionally also use
hot glue

Close to the crossover to the midrange and prepare for HT cables and input

4. Expansion of the mirror triangles and window frames

Loosen the 3 clips and drag them from the panel.

5. Mounting the tweeter


Please note that in some BMW models, including E87 facelift, no treble preparation
Present. You can purchase the needed trim at your local BMW dealer.

Modify these four points is the perfect Tweeter to


ensure uptake.

Remove housing and grill

GROUND ZERO clips the one tweeter.

Mount the Spiegeldreick in reverse order as described in point 4

6. Insulation

7. Cable to crossover

Disconnect the cable to the OEM and tweeter


and attach crimp connectors and sleeves
Please note the Cable
polarity

9. Fixation of jumpers
For this, use a hot glue gun.

10. Door panel assembly


Install the door trim in the reverse order as described in point 1.

11. Expansion of OEM Woofers

4x T50 Torx unscrew and


seat back tilt

Please note: Do not disconnect the cables


of the seat as this my trigger warning light

6 x Phillips screws unscrew and remove the grille

4x T10 Torx screws herrausdrehen,


Disconnect the connector and
OEM woofer removed.
Using a separate carpet knife
around 10x15cm large area of
carpet Herraus bottom

10. Mounting the woofer

Insert the adapter 200NEO GZBR 200BMW, the GZMW and the plastic ring
GZMW 200NEO of lattice together. Take the 4 x Phillips screws that came with the
GZBR 200BMW are included and connect woofer and plastic ring to the adapter.

Cut with a Metal scissors

Connect the cable from the


GZBR 200BMW adapter to the
Terminal GZMW 200NEO on.

Add the grid and close a 40cm long 1.5 mm cable.

11. Connecting the woofer and install the backer

Remove a large chunk of the approximately 10x15cm carpet underneath.

Extend the OEM cable 30cm 1.5mm


Speaker Cable. Please note that it is the
brown marked Cable to ground - is.
Connect speakers and line-in on the
switch on. Fix the switch Knetplast
using the ventilation shaft under the
carpet.
Final You can use the plastic mesh back Secure with
the Phillips head screws and the 6x Seat back tilt
Please note the maximum.
Of torque Seat bolts, which is released by BMW.

Woofer setting
- Jumper J1: Low
