Job Description-Supply Chain Head

Location: Posting-Kolkata
Position- GM- Supply Chain
Qualification/ Experience/ Target Indusry-- Bachelors Degree in Engineering, preferrance
will be given to Mechanical (Tier 1 Engineering Colleges preferred) with 20 to 25 years of
relevant experience.
- MBA /M Tech. In Operations/Supply Chain/Logistics / Engineering (preferred)
- Any relevant industry specific Certifications/Memberships (desirable)

Job Summary
- The Senior Project Manager will lead a team that perform works on gathering and interpreting
relevant data (Inventory, demand and supply planning, capacity planning, network
optimization, analysis patterns, etc.), investigating issues, find root causes, and develops
insights and delivers to the relevant stakeholders.
- Common responsibilities include interactive with customers and stakeholders, converting
business requirements into analysis, building solutions with the help of IT, scanning business
processes, identifying performance trends, bottlenecks, data analysis, data mining,
preparation of reports and Insights and providing project management
- Use strong system skills and business knowledge to examine the effectiveness of client's
supply chain operations and to communicate conclusions. Develop reports and analysis for
continuous improvement.
- The candidate should be able to challenge conventional thought, offer unique perspectives
and conceive more innovative solutions for clients.
- The individual will be responsible for working closely with clients to develop actionable
insights and results.
Key Performance Area:Lead and provide leadership to a team of SCM Analytics members who are performing various
analysis and Participate in Strategy and Operational Analysis of Supply Chain Management and
provide Insights across:
- Supply Chain Optimization
- Inventory Optimization
- Supply Chain Strategy /Operations

- Demand Planning
- Customer Order Analysis
- Network Optimization
- Customer Order Analysis
Key Focus Area:

Designs & Implements Supply Chain Management strategy


Plan, organize & control strategic activities surrounding the import& export of products

from vendors
Maintain the pipeline of product as per sales & marketing team requirement and make

the available timely


Develop supply partners from Design, Development to Manufacturing, drive results &

improvement, implementation plans, improve commercial terms & conditions


Through the analysis of current spend, processes and practices, develop an overall

sourcing strategy that supports the goals including new product introduction, supplier
consolidation, cycle time reduction, process standardization, material cost reduction,
transaction cost removal, and process digitization that meets the annual operating plan
Negotiate with all suppliers
Develop alternate supplier. Monitor performance of suppliers
Deliver Cycle time improvements. Ensure inventories are minimized.
Monitor pricing trends of various materials & commodities and take actions to minimize

negative impacts.
Keep a quality check & keep inventory low
Take care warehouse Shifting & Cost reduction
Establish and implement methods and best practices related to the systems and

processes that support inventory forecasting, purchasing, material control, order


processing, and customer services
To develop the Logistics plan in line with the agreed product availability plan monthly

and ensure it is continuously updated


Competencies:Technical
Skill and Knowledge Requirements:
- Industry knowledge of Manufacturing
- Strong analytical abilities, with attention to detail
- Demonstrated decision making and problem solving skills
- Comprehensive skills in query/reporting tools, spreadsheet applications and presentations
- People/ Team Handling Skills- Managed a team of atleast 15-20 people in the SCM Analytics
domain.

-Ensure that the Supply Chain organisation is aligned with business strategy.
-Determine how the company can better meet demand with lower inventory levels.
-Rethink and redesign the order to delivery process for faster, more effective operations,
seeking to optimise the flow of all goods.
-Keep inventory costs low, optimise demand planning, fine-tune stock and service level policies
and trim SKU portfolios.
1. - APICS certification and or member of the Institute of Purchasing is preferable
