WHEREAS, the City of Dallas is committed to the freedom and rights of all human beings; and
WHEREAS, Three Expo Events, LLC requests to contract with the City to hold a three-day
adult entertainment expo (expo) at the Dallas Convention Center; and
WHEREAS, many of the exhibitors at the expo intend to display and sell items related to the
adult entertainment industry; and
WHEREAS, elements of the adult entertainment industry has a detrimental effect on the
community; and
WHEREAS, elements of the adult entertainment industry promote and encourage the
objectification of women; and
WHEREAS, the City Council believes this event contributes to the degradation and
victimization of women; and
WHEREAS, the City Council does not condone or support the adult entertainment industry.
Now, Therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DALLAS:
SECTION 1. That the City Council directs the City Manager to ensure that Three Expo Events,
LLC, its exhibitors, and patrons comply with all applicable laws and the provisions of the
contract during the expo and to take appropriate actions if there are any violations.
SECTION 2. That the City Council supports the fight to end the degradation and victimization
of women.
SECTION 3. That this resolution shall take effect immediately from and after its passage in
accordance with the provisions of the Charter of the City of Dallas, and it is accordingly so
resolved.
