ARRIVAL COMMUNICATION PROCEDURES

1. Aircraft arriving at YMM will exit the runway and contact ground frequency (121.9) to request
taxi instructions.
2. YMM Tower (or YPE Peace River Radio during hours of 2245-0615 local) will give taxi instructions
and if transitioning to Apron 1 (South) will advise to switch to McMurray Operations on 122.12
upon entering Apron 1.
3. If the aircraft is proceeding to Apron 2 (North) they will remain on ground frequency until hand-off
to company frequency for parking.
4. Upon entering Apron 1 the Pilot in command will contact McMurray Operations with:
a. Call sign, and
b. Aircraft ID.
5. McMurray Operations will relay bridge assignment to aircraft and request call back to McMurray
Operations prior to pushback.

DEPARTURE COMMUNICATION PROCEDURES

1. Aircraft departing from the Apron 1 will contact McMurray Operations (122.12) prior to pushback
with call sign.
2. McMurray Ops will advise aircraft prior to push back at their discretion and to contact ground 121.9
(or Peace River Radio 118.1 during hours of 2245-0615 local) for runway and taxi instructions.
3. Aircraft on Apron 2 (North) will contact YMM Ground on 121.9 (or Peace River Radio on 118.1
during hours of 2245-0615 local) for runway and taxi instructions.

DE-ICE BAY PROCEDURE

Fort McMurray International operates a Central De-icing Facility which is located on the main/south
ramp (Apron 1) on the south side of the airport. All bays are capable of both engine on and engine off
de-icing operations concurrently. All de-icing is to be accomplished at this facility.
1. De-icing is accomplished by each of the ground handling companies that operate at the Fort McMurray
International Airport.
2. Coordinate any special treatment with your Ground Handler prior to taxi to Central De-Icing Facility.
3. Aircraft requiring de-icing are to contact McMurray Operations on 122.12 prior to engine start
or push back on Apron 2 (North) or prior to push back from Apron 1 (South).
a. Provide Call Sign and Aircraft Identification,
b. McMurray Ops will advise aircraft of:
i. Sequence number for de-ice bay,
ii. De-ice bay assignment, and
iii. Allocated slot time for de-ice bay.
4. Entry point to the Central De-Icing Facility, if transitioning from the North, is via taxiway J
to ramp 1 - the west entrance.
5. If required to hold - the designated holding area is to your immediate right upon entering Apron 1.
6. Central De-Icing Facility flow is from west to east.
7. All smaller aircraft such as Caravans, Jetstreams, etc will de-ice on Bay 1. This is to minimize
the potential for jet blast from departing aircraft.
8. Once in the Bay stop on the yellow crossbar and advise McMurray Ops when brakes are set.
9. McMurray Ops will hand you over to your Ground Handler and request a call back when de-icing
is complete.
10. On completion of de-ice procedure contact McMurray Ops on 122.12.
11. McMurray Ops will clear the aircraft from the Central De-icing Facility and direct the aircraft
to contact YMM Ground on 121.9 (or Peace River Radio on 118.1 during hours of 2245-0615 local)
for runway and taxi instructions.
12. Exit is via taxiway H.
NOTE:
Unless otherwise stated from the aircraft Captain, all WestJet aircraft will do engine-off de-icing.
All other aircraft will conduct engine-on de-icing.

CHANGES: None.
