Robert Lewandowski breaks another record for Bayern

The Pole notched the fastest ever hat-trick in Bundesliga history when scoring all five of Bayern
Munich's goals in Wednesday's 5-1 drubbing of Wolfsburg.
And two more Lewandowski goals in Bayern's comfortable 3-0 win away to Mainz Saturday ensured
he achieved a century of Bundesliga goals in just 168 appearances.
Lewandowski arrived in Munich on a free transfer from Borussia Dortmund in 2014 after scoring 74
goals in three years at the Westfalonstadion.
Saturday's strikes take him to 27 goals for Bayern. They also helped extend the Bavarian's 100%
start to the season.
Pep Guardiola's side have now won seven league matches on the bounce and are five points clear of
closest rivals Dortmund who play newly promoted Darmstadt on Sunday.
Elsewhere in Germany Saturday, Bayer Leverkusen picked up a valuable 3-1 win away to Werder
Bremen to move into fifth position in the Bundesliga table.
Fourth placed Wolfsburg continued to struggle after Wednesday's defeat away to Bayern with a 1-1
draw at home with Hannover.
Hoffenheim won 3-1 away to Augsburg while Borussia Monchengladbach triumphed by the same
score line at Stuttgart.
English Premier LeagueManchester United replaced local rivals Manchester City atop the Premier
League table Saturday thanks to a 3-0 home victory over Sunderland and City's 4-1 loss away to
Tottenham Hotspur.
Memphis Depay, Wayne Rooney and Juan Mata all scored for United in what was a comfortable Old
Trafford win against Dick Advocaat's struggling Black Cats.
Kevin De Bruyne struck early for City in London but goals from Eric Dier, Toby Alderweireld, Harry
Kane and Erik Lamela ensured Tottenham inflicted the Blues second successive EPL defeat.
Arsenal moved up to fourth after Chile international Alexis Sanchez scored a hat-trick in a 5-2 away
win at Leicester City.
The Gunners are now level on points third placed West Ham which has a superior goal difference.
The Hammers could only draw 2-2 at home to newly promoted Norwich City and required an injury
time goal from Cheikhou Kouyate to claim the point.
Elsewhere, Liverpool overcame Aston Villa 3-2 to ease the pressure on manager Brendan Rodgers.
Southampton defeated Swansea 3-1 while Stoke City recorded a valuable 2-1 home win over
Bournemouth.
In the day's late fixture Chelsea battled back from two goals down to claim a 2-2 draw at struggling

Newcastle United. Ayoze Perez and Georginio Wijnaldum put the Magpies in control but late strikes
from Ramires and Willian ensured the spoils were shared.
La LigaBarcelona moved above Real Madrid in the La Liga table but at terrible cost as Lionel Messi
tore ligaments in his left knee.
It was later confirmed the Argentine will be out of action for between seven and eight weeks.
On a happier note for the Catalan giant, Luis Suarez scored both goals in its 2-1 victory over Las
Palmas.
The result, coupled with Real Madrid's failure to defeat Malaga later on Saturday, means Barcelona
now sits a point above its great rival in the La Liga table.
Real could only draw 0-0 at home to 10-man Malaga with Cristiano Ronaldo in particular guilty of
missing a stream of good opportunities.
Barcelona were temporarily on top, but Villarreal's later 1-0 win over Atletico Madrid later saw them
head the standings on 16 points from six games, a point clear of the Catalan giants.
