Blood typing lab 304-02 Lesley Mayhew

Purpose: The purpose of this lab is to determine the blood type of two
samples.

Materials:
-Anti-A serum (blue)
-Anti-B serum (yellow)
-testing tray
-tooth picks
-samples
* Serum is plasma without clotting proteins.

Procedure:

-In testing tray place one drop of Anti-A in its labeled spot & place one drop
of Anti-B in its labeled spot.
-Place one drop of sample into each (A+B)
-Mix the serum and sample together vigorously with the appropriate
toothpick (blue for A, and yellow for B)
-Some samples need to be mixed for two minutes before you see a reaction.
-If sample remains clear, then the test is negative;
If sample goes cloudy (agglutination=clumping) it’s positive.

p.s

For the testing, we followed as directed, and observed “other” peoples testing to observe
the other samples (blood types).
