SPECIAL FIRE FIGHTING PROCEDURES AND PRECAUTIONS:
Use water spray, dry chemical, foam or carbon dioxide. Use water to keep fire-exposed
containers cool. If a spill or leak has not ignited, use water spray to disperse the vapors.
Water spray may be used to flush spills away from fire and to dilute spills to
nonflammable mixtures.
UNUSUAL FIRE AND EXPLOSION HAZARDS:
Firefighters should wear self-contained breathing apparatus in the positive-pressure
mode with a full facepiece when there is a possibility of exposure to smoke, fumes or

EMERGENCY OVERVIEW:

Inhalation: Unknown
Ingestion: LD50:>5.0 ML/KG (Rats)
Eye Contact: Contact with the eye may cause minor irritation. The eye irritation score for
Colamate OPA-30 was 5.3 (Scale 0 – 110. Rats).
Skin Contact: Contact with the skin may cause mild to moderate irritation, especially on
prolonged or repeated use. The primary skin irritation score for Colamate
OPA-30 was 3.46 (Scale 0 – 8. Rabbits)
FIRST AID:

Inhalation: Immediately remove victim to fresh air. If victim has stopped breathing give
artificial respiration, preferably by mouth-to-mouth. Get medical attention
immediately.
Ingestion: Call a physician or poison control center.
Eye Contact: Immediately flush eyes with plenty of cool water for at least 15 minutes. Do not
let victim rub eyes. Get medical attention immediately.
Skin Contact: Immediately flush skin with plenty of water while removing contaminated
clothing. Wash contaminated clothing before reuse.
