Compact safety system with SafetyBUS p connection
PSS SB 3075-3 ETH-2

Description
The PSS SB 3075-3 ETH-2 belongs
to the PSS 3075-3 series. It is a
compact safety system, enclosed in
a single housing.
The connection to the decentralised
periphery devices is made via
SafetyBUS p. An additional feature
to the decentralised I/Os is the ability
to connect a safety-related network
of several PSS systems via
SafetyBUS p.
6 of the inputs can be configured as
alarm inputs.
The single-pole outputs have a load
capacity of 1.5 A. 4 of the outputs
can be configured jointly as test
pulse outputs. Outputs configured as
test pulse outputs supply the test
pulses to check the input filters and
optocouplers on the inputs. 9 dualpole outputs are also available. Each
output is protected against shortcircuit, overload and excess
temperature. They can switch both
resistive and inductive loads.
Safety systems in the PSS-range are
divided into a failsafe section and a
standard section. Only the failsafe
section may process safety-related
functions. The failsafe and standard
sections communicate without
feedback; i.e. potential program
errors in the standard section will not
affect the failsafe section. The
failsafe section of the CPU is
designed to be multi-channel and
diverse, ensuring a high level of
safety. All inputs and outputs are
processed separately by each
channel. Each channel compares the
result with that of the other channels.
Input and output signals are only
valid if all channels reach the same
result.

Compact programmable safety systems

Compact safety system with SafetyBUS p connection
PSS SB 3075-3 ETH-2
Communication with master
systems, e.g. for diagnostic
functions or graphics, can be made
via the Ethernet interface; if
necessary, the user interface may be
used.
Communication via Ethernet is
possible via Modbus TCP, UDP/IP and
TCP/IP (other protocols on request).
An Ethernet Configurator has been
added to the PSS WIN-PRO system
software. The configurator is used to
configure Ethernet connections for
communication. The data areas (e.g.
data blocks) for data exchange are
also established during
configuration. The communications
setup and data exchange occur
automatically through the PSS
operating system. No standard
function blocks (communication
drivers) are required for data transfer,
i.e. configuration, communication
setup and data exchange may be
independent of the user program.
A combined RS 232/RS 485
interface (RS 232 with minimum
configuration RxD, TxD, GND) is
provided for connection to the
programming device (PG). PG
functions are also available via
Ethernet (TCP/IP).
The PSS WIN PRO system software
supports the PSS from Version 1.3.0.
