Description
The metal enclosed compartmented DC switchgear type SECUB-2 integrates three separated compartments for high and low
voltage equipment:

Low voltage compartment including protection and control devices

High-speed circuit-breaker compartment
Rear high voltage busbar compartment including optional disconnecting switch
Protection and control compartment
Accessible from the front of the cubicle, the low voltage compartment includes the protection and control relay SEPCOS, the low
voltage equipment (MCBs, relays, etc.).
High speed circuit breaker compartment
The HV compartment includes the high-speed circuit-breaker which is mounted on a withdrawable drawer.
The drawer can be easily withdrawn from the cubicle.
The HSCB is connected to the auxiliary circuits thanks to an unpluggable multiple connector and the breaker is connected to the
high-voltage busbars by power finger connectors.
The unlocking mechanism of the door ensures a trip of the HSCB before opening.
Behind this door, a polycarbonate protecting screen ensures the security of personel and prevent contact with live parts.
With the door open, the drawer can be drawn in or out with a handle located on the drawer frame (linked to a locking system).
When the drawer has been drawn out, it can be easily placed on a trolley allowing easy maintenance operations and access inside
the cubicle.
The withdrawable circuit breaker drawer has four different positions:

Service
Test
Disconnected
Removed

It is possible to see the physical state of the HSCB (opened or closed) as well as the drawer position (service, test or disconnected)
through a window located on the front door. A counter showing the number of HSCB operations is also visible through this window.

The drawer also contains a measuring shunt. The isolated amplifiers for current (MIU10) and voltage (VM10) measurement as well
as the line test components are mounted on a retractable plate located below the drawer.
With the plate removed, the power cable connection compartment is easily accessible inside the cubicle. This feature makes the
installation against the wall possible.
This compartment is separated from the busbar compartment thanks to isolating shutters.
Rear high voltage busbar compartment
The busbar rear compartment is composed of two main parts:

Main incoming busbar

Connection for outgoing cables, copper bars are provided to connect the power cable to the third rail or the catenary
As an option, an off load disconnecting switch can be mounted to insure the by-pass or line isolating function
