ISO 10088:2009(E)

Foreword
ISO (the International Organization for Standardization) is a worldwide federation of national standards bodies
(ISO member bodies), The work of preparing International Standards is normally carried out through ISO

technical committees, Each member body interested in a subject for which a technical committae has baen
establishad has tha right to be reprasented on that committee. International organizations, governmental and
non-governmantal,
in liaison with ISO, also take part in the wOrk. ISO collaborates closely with the
International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) onall matters of electrotechnical standardization.
International Standards are drafted in accordance with the rules~iven

in the ISO/IEC Directives, Part 2.

The main task of technical committes is to preparelnternational

Standards. Draft International Standards
adopted by the technical committees are circulated to the member bodies for voting, Publication as ao
International Staodard requires approvai by at least 75 % of tha member bodies casting a vote,
Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject of patent
rigl1ts. ISO shall not be held responsible for identifying any or ali 5uch patent right5.
ISO 10088 was prepared by Technical CommIttee ISOtTC 188, Smal/ craft,

4.1.11

A means to determine tuel tank level or quantity shall be provided.

4.2 Testing
4.2.1

After installation, the fuel system as a whole shall pass the pressure test specified in Annex A.

4.2.2 Fuel system components that are small enough. such as fuel valves, and required to be fire tested
according to 4.1.9 shall be tested as specified in ISO 7840:2004, Annex A, with tha lower part mounted

5.2.7
The vent Jne shatl be arranged to minimize intake of water withoul restricting the release of vapour or
intake of air and shall not allow fuel or vapour overflow to enter the cratl.
5.2.8
The vent-line termination or a gooseneck in the vent-line routing shall be arranged at sufficient height
to prevent spillage of fuel through the vent Une during filling and entry of water under normal operating
conditions of the craft.
