Degree program
IB International Business
The objectives of the programme of International Business are wide and versatile and focused on working life in practice. This
degree programme gives the knowledge and skills required in expertise and management tasks. Entrepreneurship, power of
initiative and internationalization are also among the main goals of this programme.
Our graduates are diversely employed according to the chosen specialisation in expert and leadership positions, for example, in
domestic or foreign marketing, in export, import or forwarding, in managerial and financial accounting or in public and judicial
administration. Depending of the spesialisation after the graduation one can work for example as product specialists, key account
manager, project leader, controller, chief accountant, finance manager, marketing manager.

recognises ones learning style orientation and is able to conduct studies independently and develop ones learning strategies
is capable of collaborative learning and sharing knowledge in teams and working communities

G2 Ethical competence

IB1 Knowledge of various fields of business activity


- is familiar with and is able to describe the companys core processes as well as understands how the different areas of business
economics affect each other
- understands interaction between the company and the business environment in which it acts, and learns to think and act from
the point of view of business economics
- understands the basics for profitable business activity and is able to analyze the companys activity and risks.
- understands how the individual affects the activity within the work community and is capable of working in a result-oriented way.
- understands the importance of communication and creates interactivity between internal and external interest groups also in a
global business environment

IB2 Specialized knowledge of business activity


- specialized knowledge of the different areas within business economics in accordance with VAMKs areas of focus, e.g. business
administration, marketing and international business, a certain industry, regional or international business economics.

IB3 Practical knowledge of business activity


- masters the necessary basic skills in research and development work for acquiring specialized professional knowledge within the
field of business economics.
- is able to apply business mathematics and statistical methods with the help of computer programs
- possesses sufficient skills for applying qualitative and quantitative research methods

IB4 Applied knowledge of business activity


- is able to apply theories of business economics and is capable of solving problems, e.g. in various exercises, projects and in
relation to the thesis work
- is able to apply the latest knowledge within the work community
- is able to develop processes within business economics and apply quality thinking
