CIMB Balance Transfer Product Disclosure Sheet

Please read this Product Disclosure Sheet before you decide to take up the CIMB Balance Transfer. Be
sure to also read the general terms and conditions.
1.

What is this product about?


CIMB Balance Transfer (Balance Transfer) allows you to use a portion of your available credit limit under your CIMB
credit card to pay off the outstanding balance of your other banks credit card accounts and to repay CIMB the sum
utilized within 6-month or 12-month periods.

2.

What do I get from this Product?


The minimum amount for each Balance Transfer application is RM1,000 and the maximum amount will be subject to
your available credit limit as well as CIMBs discretion.
Upon approval of your application, your available credit limit will be provisionally reduced by blocking out an amount
equivalent to the approved Balance Transfer amount, but will be progressively restored (at CIMB Banks sole and
absolute discretion) by the actual payment received by CIMB Bank.
The Approved Balance Transfer Amount will form part of the total available credit limit for all the cardmembers CIMB
Bank credit card account(s), including his/her supplementary credit card account(s).

3.

What are my obligations?


You will have to make monthly minimum payments of no less than 5% of the amount outstanding as specified in the
statement or RM50, whichever is higher.

What are the fees and charges I have to pay?

After the expiry of the above periods, the outstanding balance will be subject to the usual finance charges at the rates
set out in the terms and conditions governing the use of the CIMB Bank credit card(s) and in accordance with Bank
Negara Malaysia guidelines, the Bank may impose finance charges on the outstanding balance subject to the current
maximum rates of 18% per annum (depending on the payment behavior as stated in Bank Negara guidelines) should
the applicants fail to settle outstanding balance due on payment due date.
5.

What if I fail to fulfill my obligations?


Late Payment Charge:
If the minimum payment is not paid by the Due Date each month, a late payment charge of 1% on the total
outstanding balance as at the statement date (subject to a minimum of RM 10.00 and a maximum of RM100.00) will
be charged on the next day after the Due Date for each month.

Rights to Set-Off:
We have the right to set-off any credit balance in your account maintained with us against any outstanding balance in
this credit card account by giving you seven (7) calendar days prior notice in advance.

What if I fully settle the balance before its maturity?

7.

What are the major risks?


If you pay only the minimum amount due, it will take you longer and cost you more to settle the outstanding balance.
Think about your repayment capacity when applying for Balance Transfer.
The finance charges imposed on the outstanding balance for this credit card is based on a tiered pricing structure in
accordance to your repayment history. If you use your credit card to make repayment for other financing, it may cost
you more.
If you have problems paying for your credit card balances, contact us in advance to discuss repayment alternatives.

8.

Can I cancel my Balance Transfer after application?


In the event you wish to cancel the Balance Transfer application, you will need to call CIMB Card Call Centre within 24
hours from the time you make the application to us. Any cancellation after 24 hours from the time you make the
application will not be entertained.

9.

Am I entitled to reward points and cash rebates?


You are not entitled to any reward points or cash rebates for transactions effected in connections with Balance
Transfer.

10. How do I apply for Balance Transfer?


You may apply for Balance Transfer by filling up the application form or through phone. All applications made through
phone will be deemed conclusive proof of the Cardmembers instruction to apply for Balance Transfer.
To apply for Balance Transfer through phone, you may contact our Retail Telemarketing Centre at 03-2281 7000 from
Mondays to Fridays between 9:30am to 6:30pm.
11. What do I need to do if there are changes to my contact details?
It is important that you inform us of any changes in your contact details to ensure that all correspondences reach you
in a timely manner. Please contact our call centre at 03-6204 7788 to change your contact details. Alternately, you
can change your contact details by visiting us in any CIMB branches nationwide.

CIMB Bank Balance Transfer Terms & Conditions

1. CIMB Bank Berhad ("CIMB Bank") has established the CIMB Bank Balance Transfer Programme (the "Programme")
for CIMB Banks principal cardmembers (Cardmembers). The Programme allows Cardmembers to apply to transfer
the outstanding balance from his/her credit card accounts with other financial institutions (the "Outstanding
Balance") to any CIMB Bank credit card account held in their name.
2. The Programme is not valid for CIMB Islamic cardmembers.
3. Applications for the Programme are subject to CIMB Banks prior approval and the terms and conditions herein
contained. CIMB Bank reserves the right to approve or reject any applications and determine the Outstanding Balance
allowed to be transferred (the Approved Balance) at its absolute discretion. Cardmembers who are in breach of or
who have breached the terms and conditions of their credit card accounts with other financial institutions or who
have otherwise not conducted such other credit card accounts properly shall not be entitled to participate in the
Programme.
4. If a Supplementary Cardmember wishes to participate in the Programme, the prior consent of the Principal
Cardmember must first be obtained.
5. Subject to the available credit limit in the Cardmembers CIMB Bank credit card account (s), Cardmembers can
select balance transfer plans specified in the application form or through telephone communication with CIMB Bank.
6. After the expiry of the relevant period specified in the balance transfer plans selected by the Cardmember where a
preferential rate of finance charges is chargeable, CIMB Bank shall impose finance charges on the Approved Balance
of the Cardmember's credit card at the rates and in accordance with the terms and conditions governing the use of
the CIMB Bank credit card(s) (the "Card Agreement").
7. A letter of notification will be sent to the Cardmember advising him/her whether his/her application under the
Programme has been approved or declined. In the event that an application has been approved, CIMB Bank will make
payment of the Approved Balance to the Cardmembers credit card account with the other financial institution in
such manner as CIMB Bank deems fit.
8. Until the notification of approval (referred to in Clause 7) is received by the Cardmember and payment of the
Approved Balance is made by CIMB Bank to the other financial institution, the Cardmember shall continue to be liable
to make payment under his/her credit card account with the other financial institution in accordance with the terms
of payment of the other financial institution and CIMB Bank shall not be liable for any interest on any overdue
payment or any other finance charges or other charges incurred by the Cardmember or other consequences arising as
a result of the Cardmembers and/or CIMB Banks failure or delay in making payment of the Approved Balance to the
other financial institution.
9. An additional account number will be assigned to the Cardmember for the purpose of operating and administering
the Approved Balance and the Cardmember will receive a separate statement with details of his Approved Balance.
Notwithstanding the additional account number assigned to the Cardmember, the Approved Balance refinance by
CIMB Bank shall however still be deemed to be an amount incurred by the Cardmember under his/her CIMB Bank
credit card account(s) and shall be treated as part of the Cardmembers credit card(s) outstanding amount. The
Cardmember will have to make a monthly minimum payment of 5% on the outstanding thereof or RM50.00,
whichever is higher. If the minimum payment is not paid by the Due Date each month, the late payment charge of 1%

on the total outstanding balance as at statement date (subject to a minimum of RM10.00 and a maximum of
RM100.00) will be charged on the next day after the Due Date for each month. This late payment charge is imposed
by way of liquidated damages and not as a penalty and shall be payable before, as well as after any court order or
judgement.
10. Cardmembers shall not be entitled to any Bonus Points in respect of their participation in the Programme.
11. The Approved Balance will form part of the total available credit limit for all of the Cardmembers CIMB Bank
credit card account(s), including his Supplementary credit card account(s). There will be no increase in the available
credit limit whether equivalent to the Approved Balance or otherwise. The Approved Balance will reduce the available
credit limit of the Cardmembers credit card account(s) accordingly.
12. The terms and conditions herein are in addition to and without prejudice to the terms and conditions stated in the
Card Agreement. In the event of a conflict between the terms and conditions herein and the terms and conditions in
the Card Agreement, the terms and conditions herein prevail in relation to the Programme.
13. CIMB Bank reserves the right at its sole and absolute discretion to amend the terms and conditions herein at
anytime by giving the Cardmember prior notice and the duly amended terms and conditions shall become effective
on such date as CIMB Bank may determine and specify in the notice.
14. The terms and conditions herein shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Malaysia.

Terma-Terma & Syarat-Syarat Pemindahan Baki CIMB


1. CIMB Bank Berhad (CIMB Bank) telah menyediakan Program Pemindahan Baki CIMB Bank ("Program ini") untuk
pemegang kad prinsipal CIMB Bank (Pemegang Kad). Program ini membenarkan Pemegang Kad untuk membuat
permohonan untuk memindahkan jumlah baki yang tertunggak dari akaun-akaun kad kreditnya dengan institusiinstitusi kewangan lain ("Baki Tertunggak") kepada mana-mana akaun kad kredit CIMB Bank yang dipegang di bawah
nama mereka.
2. Program ini tidak sah untuk pemegang kad CIMB Islamic.
3. Permohonan untuk menyertai Program ini adalah tertakluk kepada kelulusan daripada CIMB Bank terlebih dahulu
dan juga terma-terma dan syarat-syarat yang terkandung di dalam ini. CIMB Bank mempunyai hak untuk meluluskan
atau menolak mana-mana permohonan dan menentukan Baki Tertunggak yang dibenarkan untuk dipindahkan ("Baki
yang Diluluskan") atas budi bicaranya. Pemegang Kad yang memungkiri atau telah memungkiri terma-terma dan
syarat-syarat akaun kad kreditnya dengan institusi kewangan yang lain atau yang tidak mengendalikan akaun kad
kredit tersebut dengan cara yang betul adalah tidak berhak untuk menyertai Program ini.
4. Sekiranya Pemegang Kad Tambahan ingin menyertai Program ini, kebenaran terdahulu daripada Pemegang Kad
Prinsipal adalah diperlukan.
5. Tertakluk kepada had kredit tersedia dalam akaun(akaun-akaun) kad kredit CIMB Bank Pemegang Kad, Pemegang
Kad boleh memilih pelan pemindahan baki yang dinyatakan dalam borang permohonan atau melalui komunikasi
telefon dengan CIMB Bank.
6. Selepas tamat tempoh relevan yang dinyatakan dalam pelan pemindahan baki yang dipilih oleh Pemegang Kad di
mana caj kewangan pada kadar yang bagus dikenakan, CIMB Bank akan mengenakan caj kewangan ke atas Baki yang
Diluluskan kad kredit Pemegang Kad pada kadar dan berdasarkan terma-terma dan syarat-syarat yang mengawal
penggunaan kad kredit CIMB Bank ("Perjanjian Kad").
7. Surat pemberitahuan akan dihantar kepada Pemegang Kad untuk memaklumkan Pemegang Kad samada
permohonan di bawah Program ini telah diterima atau ditolak. Sekiranya permohonan diluluskan, CIMB Bank akan
membuat pembayaran Baki yangDiluluskan kepada akaun kad kredit Pemegang Kad dengan institusi kewangan lain,
dengan cara yang dianggap sesuai oleh CIMB Bank.
8. Sehingga pemberitahuan mengenai kelulusan (yang dirujuk dalam Klausa 7) diterima oleh Pemegang Kad dan
pembayaran Baki yang Diluluskan telah dibuat oleh CIMB Bank kepada institusi kewangan lain, Pemegang Kad adalah
berterusan bertanggungjawab untuk membuat pembayaran ke atas akaun kad kreditnya dengan institusi kewangan
yang lain berdasarkan kepada terma-terma pembayaran institusi kewangan tersebut dan CIMB Bank tidak akan
bertanggungjawab ke atas apa-apa faedah yang dikenakan ke atas pembayaran lewat atau apa-apa caj kewangan
atau caj lain yang dikenakan ke atas Pemegang Kad atau apa-apa akibat lain yang tertimbul disebabkan kegagalan
atau kelewatan Pemegang Kad dan/atau CIMB Bank dalam membuat pembayaran Baki yang Diluluskan kepada
institusi kewangan lain.
9. Satu nombor akaun tambahan akan diberikan kepada Pemegang Kad untuk tujuan mengoperasikan dan
mengendalikan Baki yang Diluluskan dan Pemegang Kad akan menerima penyata berasingan dengan butir-butir
mengenai Baki yang Diluluskan. Walau apa pun nombor akaun tambahan diberikan kepada Pemegang Kad, Baki yang
Diluluskan yang dibiayai semula oleh CIMB Bank akan masih dianggap sebagai amaun yang harus ditanggung oleh
Pemegang Kad di bawah akaun kad kredit CIMB Bank dan akan di ambil kira sebagai sebahagian amaun tertunggak

kad kredit Pemegang Kad. Pemegang Kad dikehendaki membuat bayaran bulanan minimum sebanyak 5% daripada
jumlah baki yang tertunggak atau RM50.00, yang mana lebih tinggi. Sekiranya bayaran minimum bulanan tidak
dijelaskan selewat-lewatnya pada Tarikh Matang setiap bulan, caj bayaran lewat 1% ke atas keseluruhan baki
tertunggak pada tarikh penyata (tertakluk kepada minimum RM10.00 dan maksimum RM100.00) akan dikenakan
pada hari seterusnya selepas Tarikh Matang setiap bulan. Caj bayaran lewat ini dikenakan melalui cara gantirugi
jumlah tertentu dan bukannya sebagai penalti dan perlu dibayar sebelum dan juga selepas apa-apa perintah
mahkamah atau penghakiman.
10. Pemegang Kad tidak akan mendapat sebarang Mata Bonus untuk penyertaan mereka dalam penyertaan Program
ini.
11. Baki yang Diluluskan akan menjadi sebahagian daripada jumlah keseluruhan had kredit tersedia bagi kesemua
akaun kad kredit Pemegang Kad CIMB Bank, termasuk akaun (akaun-akaun) kad kredit Tambahannya. Had kredit
tersedia tidak akan ditambah sama ada bersamaan dengan Baki yang Diluluskan atau pun sebaliknya. Baki yang
Diluluskan akan mengurangkan had kredit di dalam akaun kad kredit Pemegang Kad masing-masing.
12. Terma-terma dan syarat-syarat yang terkandung di dalam ini adalah tambahan kepada dan tanpa prasangka
terhadap terma-terma dan syarat-syarat yang terkandung di dalam Perjanjian Kad. Sekiranya terdapat sebarang
percanggahan di antara terma-terma dan syarat-syarat yang terkandung di dalam ini dengan terma-terma dan syaratsyarat yang terkandung di dalam Perjanjian Kad, terma-terma dan syarat-syarat di dalam ini akan digunapakai untuk
Program ini.
13. CIMB Bank mempunyai hak atas budi bicara mutlaknya untuk menukar terma-terma dan syarat-syarat yang
terkandung di dalam ini pada bila-bila masa dengan memberi notis terlebih dahulu kepada Pemegang Kad, dan termaterma dan syarat-syarat yang telah dipinda akan berkuatkuasa pada tarikh yang akan ditentukan dan dinyatakan oleh
CIMB Bank dalam notis tersebut.
14. Terma-terma dan syarat-syarat ini akan dikawal oleh dan ditafsir mengikut undang-undang Malaysia.
