Since the fall of man, there has been a battle going on in this universe between the armies of God & the forces of
Satan. The battle is for the souls of men & women. The effects of the battle being fought in the spirit realm are
manifested in the life of a person in the form of everyday problems, trails, hardships & suffering. Satan brings a
problem or time of hardship in the life of a person to manipulate the person to make a choice. God allows this for
His own purpose of testing, refining, molding people & separating believers from unbelievers & false believers.
Every problem & hardship & trial you have ever faced in life, no matter how big or how small, is brought into your
life for one specific reason- that is to make you choose between God & Satan. "For godly sorrow worketh
repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death". 2 Corinthians 7:10, KJV.
Adversity in the life of a believer draws them closer to God and moulds them to be more Christ-like but adversity in
the life of an unbeliever drives them away from God when they choose to reject the True God and moulds them to
be more like the Antichrist. While believers are led by the Holy Spirit, the unbelievers are led by the spirit of
Antichrist.
Adversity is never without a cause. It has a purpose. Both believers & unbelievers face trials, problems & adversity
in life. But adversity brings about opposing results in believers & unbelievers. Satan uses the same strategy in the
life of both believers & non-believers, but the outcome differs between the two. Adversity can either lead a person
to Salvation in Jesus Christ & eternal life or it can lead a person to reject God & to eternal damnation. Remember
that, every problem that comes in your life as a believer is to get you to reject God & to make you compromise
with the world system, because when believers are faced with hardship their faith is shaken & they tend to doubt
God. Many times, in the life of believers, Gods answers do not come immediately & being human, believers will go
through phases of doubt, uncertainty, confusion, worry despair & panic. So when the person is emotionally &
mentally weak Satan will tempt the believers with thoughts of rejecting God. In the life of a believer, Satan brings
trials to make the believer to lose faith in God & to be offended at Him & therefore become backslidden & thus
become an ineffective Christian & to compromise with the world.
And every problem that comes in the life of an unbeliever is to further keep him/her bound in Satans system
he/she is already part of, & to prevent the person from finding the True God & the Truth. In the life of an unbeliever,
as he/she already worships a false god, Satan brings problems to keep them in bondage to these false gods. When
problems come, unbelievers will do various rituals & worship many false gods & thereby become more & more
entangled in the system of Satan. For a while, Satan will even give them success & prosperity, all the while stealing
their soul & gaining more & more control over their heart, mind & will.
Adversity changes us either for our best or worse. God allows adversity into a believers life to chasten him/her as
God chastens His children as a Father (Hebrews 12:5-8, KJV). A believer when he/she trusts God during adversity
will be molded to be like Jesus. It doesnt mean we will be perfect. As long as we are in this fallen world, we will
have short comings, but adversity softens our heart towards other people & cultivates in us the fruits of the Spirit
(Galatians 5:22-23, KJV) like love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness & temperance
for others & it makes us spiritually mature & brings us closer to God. As believers, trials drive us to our knees &
make us acknowledge our utter & desperate need for God. When in adversity, believers trust God to deliver them
from all hardship. The way believers should deal with adversity is to humbly submit & wait on God until He delivers
them instead of being self-reliant and trying to deliver themselves in their own strength & wisdom. Gods tells the
believers in adversity to completely rely on Him & to wait on Him until He delivers them (Psalm 123:2, KJV, Psalm
130:5, KJV). In the life of believers, what Satan intended for harm, God turns it into good (Genesis 50:20, KJV,
Romans 8:28, KJV). God teaches us many spiritual lessons during times of adversity. We may not be great, strong,
wise people but God is still God & no matter what, we can still trust Him to deliver us!
For unbelievers, adversity may either prompt them to seek God or His way of calling them to Jesus Christ or may
lead to harden their hearts & reject God. The choice to choose between the two is with the unbeliever. But when an
unbeliever facing adversity rejects the True God again & again, his/her heart hardens towards God & gets offended
by God & he/she is driven to worship false gods & becomes even more hard hearted, cruel, mean & bitter towards
other people. As believers are molded into the character of their Lord-Jesus Christ, the unbelievers who choose to
reject God are molded into the image of Satan who has power over them & take upon themselves Satans
characters. As the unbeliever gets molded into the character of Satan, he/she will be filled with pride, become self
reliant & will hate all things related to God & the Bible. They will lose a sense of compassion & empathy for fellow
human beings. They become stubborn & rebellious towards God & then their parents & then towards any authority.
This makes the unbelievers to further spiritually degenerate & cultivates in them the works of the flesh such as
adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife,
seditions, heresies, 1envying, murders, drunkenness, revellings (Galatians 5:19-21, KJV). This gives them a
reprobate mind so that they reach a point that they can never be saved & their damnation is sealed. Satan blinds
them from understanding the Biblical Truth. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it
is finished, bringeth forth death. James 1:15, KJV. Trials drive unbelievers to be self reliant or to be in bondage to
false gods & ultimately leads them to death & destruction. While adversity of believers sweetens a person, the
adversity of unbelievers embitters them. Each and every hardship that a believer goes through in life has meaning
because in the end, God justifies them, but for an unbeliever everything is meaningless. Their suffering is in vain.
Believers suffer temporarily on earth but have everlasting rest where as unbelievers go from temporary suffering
to eternal suffering. They just exchange one suffering for another.
When adversity comes, with it come hopelessness, despair, misery and confusion. When in adversity, believers find
comfort and strength in the Word of God- the KJV Bible. But what do unbelievers have? They seek comfort in their
false gods and their religion and perform endless rituals but cannot find it. So they seek to find comfort in drugs,
alcohol, sex, music, movies, serials and all worldly things but still cannot find it. They seek to fulfill the desires of
their flesh- the lust of the eyes, the lust of the flesh(5 senses) and the pride of life (1 John 2:16, KJV) but peace and
comfort still eludes them. There always remains in them an emptiness which only God can fill. But in the hardness
of their heart they do not go to God. God created man with free will and the choice to either accept God or reject
God remains with man. If a person accepts Jesus Christ, he/she becomes covered by the sinless Blood and
righteousness of Jesus because of His atonement of sins for us and therefore is justified but a person who rejects
Christ has to offer God his/her own atonement which is impossible for man because man is sinful and so is his
blood (Psalm 49:7-9, KJV: None of them can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him:
(For the redemption of their soul is precious, and it ceaseth for ever: That he should still live for ever, and not see
corruption). Based on mans choice of accepting or rejecting Christ, a man is saved eternally or damned eternally.
God specifically tells in Romans 1, KJV that He has revealed Himself to every person on earth through his/her
conscience and Gods attributes are clearly visible to man in nature. And therefore people who reject God are
without any excuse as they deliberately suppress His knowledge. Even the person who has never heard of Jesus
Christ is without an excuse because God has revealed Himself to each and every person. And people will be judged
according to the knowledge they have of God (Romans 2:12, KJV: For as many as have sinned without law shall
also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law).
For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the
Truth in unrighteousness; Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath
shewed it unto them. For the invisible things of Him from the creation of the world are clearly seen,
being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead; so that they are
without excuse: Because that, when they knew God, they glorified Him not as God, neither were thankful; but
became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they
became fools, And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to
birds, and four-footed beasts, and creeping things. Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the
lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: Who changed the Truth of God into a
lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, Who is blessed for ever. Amen. For this cause
God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against
nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another;
men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which
was meet. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a
reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; Being filled with all unrighteousness,
fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,
Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, Without
understanding, covenant breakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: who knowing the judgment
of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have
pleasure in them that do them. Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man. Romans 1:18-32, 2:1, KJV.
While believers are drawn to the Light of Christ, the unbelievers are enveloped in the darkness of Satan. When a
person goes through extreme hardships & trials in life, it causes a paradigm shift in his/her belief system, & it will
either lead them to repentance & into the arms of God or it will lead them to reject God & into the arms of Satan
himself. Intense trial usually changes the belief systems of a person drastically. It causes a paradigm shift in the
spiritual views of a person. It can either lead the person to Christ or it can lead a person into the arms of the devil.
The choice is always with the person. So into whose image is adversity in your life molding you into the Image of
Jesus Christ or into the image of the devil?

The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to

I Am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more

John 10:10, KJV
That which wrestles with us, strengthens our nerves and sharpens our skill. Our antagonist is our helper. Every
bad encounter in our life teaches us something, as some lessons are well learnt the hard way. Rejection teach us
to be acceptable of others, cruelty teaches kindness, indifference teach us to be compassionate, danger teaches
courage, waiting teaches patience, hatred towards us teach us ...to be loving, pain teaches not to hurt others,
loneliness makes us resilient, fear teaches faith, lack in life teach us to be content with what we have, oppression
shows us liberty, ungratefulness teach us to be thankful, sadness teach us empathy and hardships develops
strength and maturity in us. Taxing experiences can make a person wise and better or it can bring out the worst
in them. Depending on his/her attitude towards the difficult situation, a person can choose to come out of such
bad experiences either better or bitter. The choice always rests with the person
All problems in life are a contradiction because problems are opposed to the way we want things to happen in
life. People are not very good in dealing with contradictions as they oppose the way people think and feel. The
contradicting force creates stress and worry in our life. But it is in these contradicting situations that we learn
our best lessons. The best way to deal with contradiction is to understand it.
