7.0 CALIBRATION:
7.1

Preparation:
7.1.1 Turn off the calibration system (FTS60665) key. Place assembly 60502 on the IQ 810
calibration fixture with the fiber port to the left and the PC board facing front. Attach
the ribbon cable from the fixture to J24 on 60502. Place a calibration jumper (60660)
on J23. Attach an EndoProbe to the fiber port and focus the probe onto an AN/2 power
meter.
7.1.2 Turn on the key switch and when the Splash screen comes on quickly hold down the
top and bottom left buttons and the middle right button to enter the Diagnostic 1 menu.
7.2 Set Clock
7.2.1 Turn the knobs at the bottom to enter password 255 and press Clock Setting
7.2.2 Select 24 using middle knob.
7.2.3 Adjust left knob for correct hour.
7.2.4 Adjust right knob for correct minute.
7.2.5 Press lower left button for correct month. Select (+) or (-) with upper right button as
needed to increment or decrement the value.
7.2.6 Press lower right button for correct day/date. Select (+) or (-) with upper right button
as needed to increment or decrement the value.
7.2.7 Press middle right button for correct year. Select (+) or (-) with upper right button as
needed to increment or decrement the value.
7.2.8 Press Ok to return to the Diagnostics 1 screen.

7.3

Enter Serial Number:

7.3.1 Press Next three times to reach Diagnostic 4 menu. Press Module SN to see the
serial number screen. Turn the knobs at the bottom to enter password 650 and press
Enter Password. Now turn the knobs to enter the serial number on the 60502 head
assembly and press Enter SN to save the number. Press the return arrow key and
navigate back to Diagnostic 1 menu.
7.4 Set 10 year warranty service period:
7.4.1 Go to MAIN MENU
7.4.2 Press SYSTEM button.
7.4.3 Press SERVICE button.
7.4.4 On Service Code Generator, enter Head serial number of IQ810 into SN# box.
7.4.5 Select Warranty code button.
7.4.6 Enter 3660 days into Number of days.
7.4.7 On IQ Service Screen, enter Service code from Service Code Generator (Be sure to get
correct zeros and Is).
7.4.8 Press accept code on IQ810.
7.4.9 Verify that the warranty date displayed is approximately 10 years in the future.
7.5 Set Imax Values:

Turn the knobs to enter password 810 and press 810nm Calib. to reach to
calibration menu.
7.5.2 Press 1 Imax. Dial in the Imax currents for the Direct and Indirect diodes from the IQ
810 Head Assembly Traveler, form 990002 for the head to be calibrated. Press OK
when done to return to the calibration menu.
Adjust Photocell Pots:
7.6.1 Press 2 Pcell. Adjust %Imax to 70%, press and hold footswitch. Adjust pots #1 and
#2 on 60502 so that both Photo readings match the reading on the power meter +/10mW. When done, press Proceed Cal. and the return arrow button to return to the
calibration menu.
7.6.2 Seal the pots with GLPT (12900).
Run Diode Power Calibration:
7.7.1 Press the 3 Power. Press and hold the foot switch until you see the message
Calibration Complete in the center of the screen. Press OK to return to the
calibration menu.
Verify Diode Power Overhead:
7.8.1 Press 2 Pcell and adjust %Imax to 85%. Press and hold the foot switch and verify
that the Pcell readings are >3000. If not, stop the calibration procedure. Press return
arrow when done.
Calibrate the Aiming Beam Brightness:
7.9.1 Point the fiber at the lower power head.
7.9.2 Press the 4 Aim button. Direct the EndoProbe at the low range power meter. Adjust
the center knob until the aiming beam just goes out. When done, press OK.
7.9.3 Adjust the center knob for a reading between 0.87 and 0.93 mW. When done, press
OK. Then press the return arrow to return to the calibration menu.
7.9.4 Record the readings on FRM990469.
Calibrate for Delivery Devices:
7.10.1 Attach the Standard IR SLA to the laser head. Align the delivery device beam with the
high power power meter.
7.10.2 Press the 5 Probe button.
7.10.3 Refer to the SLA Delivery Devices table on FRM990469, select the indicated spot
size on the SLA. Use the left knob to select the desired power setting from the choices
available press and hold the footswitch for at least 5 seconds, and read the power
meter. Use the right knob on the calibration fixture to set the power meter value in the
display and record the number on FRM990469. Press Accept
7.10.4 Select the next spot size or power. Continue across the table making three
measurements and recording the values as indicated. Repeat for the next two spot
sizes. (No measurements are required for the two largest spot sizes.)
7.10.5 After all nine measurements have been made, recorded, and entered into the system,
press the Diag. Save button. Repeat for each delivery device in the table.

7.10.6 Attach the Endoprobe to the calibration fixture. Align the delivery device beam with
the power meter. Press the 5 Probe.
7.10.7 Refer to the Non-SLA Delivery Devices table on FRM990469, use the left knob to
select the desired power setting from the choices available press and hold the
footswitch for at least 5 seconds, then read the power meter. Use the right knob on the
calibration fixture to set the same value in the display.
7.10.8 Record the % number in the center display on FRM990469. Press Accept.
7.10.9 Continue making three measurements as indicated. After all three measurements have
been made, recorded, and entered into the system press Diag. Save. Repeat for each
delivery device in the table.
7.10.10Turn off the Keyswitch and disconnect the Endoprobe. Turn the Keyswitch back to the
ON position. The system must successfully complete the Power On Self Test. If
prompted to Connect Fiber, then reconnect the Endoprobe, and observe the Connect
Fiber message disappears and is replaced by the MAIN MENU. If the Power On Self
Test completes successfully, check the box on FRM990469, if not successful call
manufacturing engineering.
7.10.11Return to steps 7.10.1 and 7.10.6 to complete the calibration process for each of the
remaining delivery devices listed on FRM990469, then continue to step 7.10.12.
7.10.12This completes the calibration adjustments. This same information can be reviewed by
pressing Display Probes in the Diagnostic 2 menu.
7.11 Record Calibration Results:
7.11.1 Navigate to the Diagnostics 2 menu and press IrDrive Info and copy information into
the Calibration Results table on FRM990469.
7.12 Remove the Calibration Key
7.13 Verification
7.13.1 Complete the measurements as described in IQ 810 Head Calibration Test Traveler,
FRM990469.

INSPECTION: QA is to review and confirm the calibration values and Diagnostics 2 information on
FRM990469 per QTP60502. Log per FRM990496.
