Job Title
Purpose
To support Petronas Competency-based (PeCAS) program by preparing Learning Modules,
Conducting Classroom Training , On-site Training and Assessment of HCN (Host Country
Nationals) Technicians. (JG-10-JG14)
If required to train the established staff of Production section in any new technology
Background
The Production Line Trainer reports to the PeCAS Training Coordinator and shall liaise with
Offshore Yetagun Platform Operation Installation Manager (OIM) and Pipeline Site Manager
(PSM) at pipeline Operating Centre in Kanbauk. As part of the PeCAS implementation
strategies, HCN were recruited as developees and being trained to take established
positions in the company. In order to develop them as competent personnel, structured
PeCAS Training program and Assessment system were developed in line with Petronas
Occupational Skills Standard (POSS).
The Line trainers role is to impart and train them to get adequate competency level in the
organization so as to jive with the employees in established positions, other Operation
Peninsula Units (OPUs) and Petronas regional operation groupwide.
To set targets to the Technicians on monthly and Quarterly basis and assist the Training
Coordinator in conducting formal Assessments and progress report.
To liaise with Platform and site maintenance section to get the knowledge of the
maintenance activities and prepare necessary Training plan accordingly.
To assign practical assignment to Technicians and witness/ Observe their real work for
the completion of Skill task in the PeCAS Assessment Module.
To monitor and follow-up the Learning/ Training activities and progression of the
Technicians so as to maintain accurate progress record, attendance and punctuality.

To prepare Learning modules and presentation as per PeCAS requirements and POSS
guideline.
To conduct competency Assessment and ensure that technicians portfolio are well
organized and meet competency/validation requirements.
To prepare Training plan, Training database and liaise with Training facilitator/vendor
for specific equipment external Training.
To conduct counseling sessions for developees to identify any problems/ issues which
impede their development and propose recommendation.
To prepare financial year Training budget and propose cost reduction initiatives.
To provide refresher Training for technicians and embark into new training programs if
and when required.
Qualification:
-Minimum Diploma in Process technology/Degree in Chemical Gas Engineering
-Possess minimum 15 years work experience in Oil/Gas plant or process system either field
or Platform. Preferably with classroom/OJT capability.
Skills required:
-Good English communication & Interpersonal skills.
-Hands-on capability in process system handling.
-Able to perform effective OJT for HCN Technicians
