Improve the living conditions of populations in the areas covered by the Sarajevo Water and Waste Water Company and in downstream riverside
communities by: (a) reducing the population's exposure to, and reliance on highly polluted water from the Miljacka and Bosna Rivers; and (b)
improving the efficiency of the waste water collection network in the Sarajevo Canton.

Implementation Status and Key Decisions

Progress towards achievement of the Project Development Objectives (PDO) has been rated moderately satisfactory, with reported results generally on
track to meet end target values for PDO indicators. Under project Component A, 17.24 km was completed exceeding target value which was set at 16
km. More than 32,000 households have benefited from sewage network rehabilitation, against a total target of 48,000 household connections. Additional
works for reparation and rehabilitation of sewer is approved and would be contracted.
For Sarajevo wastewater treatment plant contract, the required construction permits were granted and the works were accelerated over the last three
months and as such the disbursement rate is increased.
