WINDLASS & MOORING WINCHES

Mooring winches:
Low speed (1st gear): 6,5m/s
Nominal speed (2nd gear): 20m/s
High speed (3rd gear): 40m/s
Towing power (Q) at nominal speed: 25T on drum (20T on head)
Max towing power (1,5*Q): 38T
Max towing power (0,2*Q) at high speed: 5T
Automatic tension: 1st position (5 15T) ; 2nd position (12,5 22,5T) ; 3rd position (20 30T)
Band brake power: 88T
Anchoring winches / Windlass:
Nominal towing power: 54T
Maximum towing power: 109T
Band break power: 358T
Overload coupling with adjustable sliding torque: 1600Nm
On anchoring position, cable lifter clutch handle not in front of proximity switch, high speed
(3rd gear) and auto tension mode will be disabled. During chain homing, 10m before anchor
sea position, only low speed (1st gear) will be available
Local control:
On each winch or windlass, to clutch the drum there is one control box with 2 push buttons
(heave in / pay out).
Remote control:
On maneuvering station each side, one column by winch (for windlass, three columns, one
each side and one locally). Each column controls two winches, there is:
a speed handle with three positions in both ways (heave in or pay out)
a four positions switch for auto tension control (manual control, 1st position 20-60%, 2nd
position 50-90%, 3rd position 80-120%)
an emergency stop push button with memory position
a push button for take control request
three lamps: Control On and Automatic control white ones, Overload red one
To take control on a column, speed handle must be in neutral position
If thermistor protection occurs, overload indication lamp will be lighted. Winch motor start
will be enable when motor temperature decreased under normal value.
