INFORMATION ABOUT METEOROLOGY

The public may gain access to various information regarding meteorology by visiting the
following website :

This is the official website of Malaysian Meteorological Department in which

there is the latest information regarding meteorology throughout the country. The website
consists of several sections including News and Events, Announcements, Press
Statements, Latest Radar Image, Latest Satellite Image and Warnings. The daily weather
in all states can also be view from the site main page of the site.

Besides that, the information related to forecast of both world and local can be
obtained through the site. It is divided into three types of forecast which is general,
marine and aviation. For general forecast, tourists can easily find out the forecast for
tourist destination as it is already listed in the site.

On the other hand, the user only needs to click at the location they which to view
and the information will be displayed for aviation forecast. The forecast for the selected
region is displayed for the current day and the next two days onwards. The minumum and
the maximum of the day are also included.

For marine forcast, the informations about fishery area, tide, weather, wind and
wave can easily be obtained for the use of fisherman and all related individuals.
In addition, the public also gains the access to view the images from the satellite
of Himawari-8 in the form of topography overlay both for the world or Asia. The
temperature for ice, sea surface and synoptic obs are also included.

Earthquake information that consist of recent events including the exact date, time,
location, latitude, longitude and magnitude in Richter Scale are also provided not only for
the one occurring in Malaysia, but also for other part of the world. It also displays the

location of the seismic monitor that is located in different places around the globe.
