Sunrise, Sunset
Is this the little girl I carried?
Is this the little boy at play?
I don't remember growing older
When did they?
When did she get to be a beauty?
When did he get to be so tall?
Wasn't it yesterday
When they were small?
Sunrise, sunset
Sunrise, sunset
Swiftly flow the days
Seedlings turn overnight to sunflowers
Blossoming even as we gaze
Sunrise, sunset
Sunrise, sunset
Swiftly fly the years
One season following another
Laden with happiness and tears
What words of wisdom can I give them?
How can I help to ease their way?
Now they must learn from one another
Day by day
They look so natural together
Just like two newlyweds should be
Is there a canopy in store for me?
Sunrise, sunset
Sunrise, sunset
Swiftly flow the days
Seedlings turn overnight to sunflowers
Blossoming even as we gaze
Sunrise, sunset
Sunrise, sunset
Swiftly fly the years
One season following another
Laden with happiness and tears

INTRODUCTORY RITE
CELEBRANT: In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
ALL: Amen.
CELEBRANT: The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the
communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all
ALL: And with your spirit
PENITENTIAL RITE
COLLECT:
Celebrant: Let us pray: O God, who in creating the human race willed that man and
wife should be one, join, we pray, in a bond of inseparable love, Aman and Tessie,
who are to be united in the covenant of Marriage, so that, as you make their love
fruitful, they may become, by your grace, witnesses to charity itself. Through our
Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy
Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.
ALL: Amen.
THE LITURGY OF THE WORD
FIRST READING
Allow us to live together to a happy old age.
A reading from the Book of Tobit (8:4b-8)
On their wedding night Tobiah arose from bed and said to his wife, Sarah, get up.
Let us pray and beg our Lord to have mercy on us and to grant us deliverance.
Sarah got up, and they started to pray and beg that deliverance might be theirs.
They began with these words: Blessed are you, O God of our fathers; praised be
your name forever and ever. Let the heavens and all your creation praise you
forever. You made Adam and you gave him his wife Eve to be his help and support;
and from these two the human race descended. You said, It is not good for the man
to be alone; let us make him a partner like himself. Now, Lord, you know that I take
this wife of mine not because of lust, but for a noble purpose. Call down your mercy
on me and on her, and allow us to live together to a happy old age. They said
together, Amen, amen.
The word of the Lord.
SECOND READING
The greatest of all is love
A reading from the first Letter of Saint Paul to the Corinthians 13:1-8 & 13
If I could speak all the languages of earth and of angels, but didnt love others, I
would only be a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. If I had the gift of prophecy, and if
I understood all of Gods secret plans and possessed all knowledge, and if I had
such faith that I could move mountains, but didnt love others, I would be
nothing. If I gave everything I have to the poor and even sacrificed my body, I
could boast about it, but if I didnt love others, I would have gained nothing.
Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does
not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being
wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins
out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through
every circumstance.
Prophecy and speaking in unknown languages and special knowledge will become
useless. But love will last forever!
Three things will last foreverfaith, hope, and loveand the greatest of these is
love.
The word of the Lord.
Celebrant : Aman and Tessie, according to Gods plan and accepting the love
given to you in each other, you have come together in this Church. May the Lord
seal and strengthen your love in the presence of the Ministers of the Church and
this community.
God abundantly blesses this love. He has already consecrated you in Baptism, and
now He enriches and strengthens you through this special Sacrament so that you
may assume the duties of Marriage in mutual and lasting love and fidelity. When
you surrender yourselves to the self-giving love with which Jesus Christ loved His
fellow beings, and when you continue to live daily for the happiness of the other,
your married life will become richer, deeper and more intimate.
And so in the presence of the Church, I ask you to state your intentions.
Aman and Tessie, have you come freely and without reservation to give yourselves
to each other in marriage?
Aman: Yes, I have
Tessie: Yes, I have
Celebrant: Will you love and honour each other as husband and wife for the rest of
your lives?
Aman: Yes, I will
Tessie: Yes, I will
6
Celebrant: Will you accept children lovingly from God and bring them up according
to the law of Christ and His Church?
Aman: Yes, I will
Tessie: Yes, I will
DECLARATION OF CONSENT
Celebrant: Since it is your intention to enter into marriage, join your right hands
and declare your consent before God and His Church.
Aman: I, Aman, take you, Tessie to be my wife. I promise to be true to you in good
times and in bad, in sickness and in health, I will love you and honour you all the
days of my life.
Tessie: I, Tessie, take you, Aman to be my husband. I promise to be true to you in
good times and in bad, in sickness and in health, I will love you and honour you all
the days of my life.
Celebrant: You have declared your consent before the Church. May the Lord in His
goodness strengthen your consent and fill you both with abundant blessings. What
God has joined, men must not divide.
All: Amen
THE BLESSING AND EXCHANGE OF RINGS
Celebrant: Lord, bless these rings which we bless in Your name. Grant that Aman
and Tessie, who will wear them, always have deep faith in each other. May they do
Your will and always live together in peace, goodwill and love. We ask this through
Christ our Lord.
All: Amen
Aman: Tessie, take this ring as a sign of my love and fidelity. In the Name of the
Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
Tessie: Aman, take this ring as a sign of my love and fidelity. In the Name of the
Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
Choir: "Here I Am To Worship"
Light of the world, You step down into darkness.
Opened my eyes let me see.
Beauty that made this heart adore you hope of a life spent with you.
[Chorus]
And here I am to worship,

Reader: Bible -Father, we offer You this Holy Bible and Rosary, symbols of our
desire that Aman and Tessies married life may be firmly founded on Your Word and
deeply rooted in prayer. May YOU be their guide and strength every day of their life.
May they continually draw from these sources an ever increasing holiness of life
manifested in faith, hope and charity, which are the offerings most pleasing to You.
Reader: Rosary- we offer You this Rosary, symbolising our love for Mary our mother.
May Aman and Tessie receive the grace listen to Your call and be open to Your will
always. May our dear mother shield them from all evil and keep them in her loving
care.
Reader: Flowers Father, we offer You these white lilies, symbolizing the beauty
and purity of love between man and woman, as You intend it to be. May Aman and
Tessies love for each other be so pure and selfless that it emanates the fragrance
of Christs love for His Church, and so may they draw others to Christ and His
Church. We also pray for the renewal of families which are so rampantly being
destroyed by the ever increasing self-centeredness and arrogance of men and
women. May Your Holy Spirit enable married couples to be more selfless in their
love that they may be slow to take offence and quick to forgive when
misunderstandings and differences arise. We pray for all families gathered here in
thanksgiving that they may have the grace to build a family in likeness with Christ.
Reader: Lighted Candle Father, we offer You this lighted candle, a symbol of the
love that burns in the hearts of Aman and Tessie. Like a candle that once lit,
lightens the darkness around it, may their love reach out to those who live in
misery, especially the poor and marginalized. By their generous works of mercy,
may they bring the good news of Your love to the most needy of our brethren. We
also pray that the Universal Church be enthused with Godly zeal in taking the
message of Your Redemptive Love to the world. We pray for the poor, the sick, the
victims of violence and natural calamities and all those who are suffering in any
way. May they experience Your comforting love and saving power, especially
through the care and generosity of fellow human beings. May Your Holy Spirit bring
all our suffering brethren to experience the fullness of life and joy, which You have
willed for them.
Reader: Bread and Wine Father, we offer you these gifts of Bread and Wine,
symbolizing ourselves and all our dear ones, with all our hopes and dreams and
anxieties too, as we embark on a new life together. By Your Wisdom and Power, You
transform crushed wheat grains and grapes into strength-giving bread and
delightful wine, which when offered in sacrifice, You transform into the
incomprehensible marvel of Your Sons Body and Blood. May our self-sacrificing love
for each other, by Your grace, become ever more perfect, until it brings us one day
to eternal love and life in You.
Choir: Offertory Hymn
All that I am, all that I have
I lay them down before you, oh Lord

Celebrant : Pray brethren that my sacrifice and yours may be acceptable to God,
the almighty Father.

of his name, for our good and the good of all his holy Church.
Celebrant : Receive, we pray, O Lord, the offering made on the occasion of this
sealing of the sacred bond of Marriage, and, just as your goodness is its
origin, may your providence guide its course. Through Christ our Lord.

EUCHARISTIC PRAYER III
C:
You are indeed Holy, O Lord, and all you have created rightly gives you praise,
for through your Son our Lord Jesus Christ, by the power and working of the
Holy Spirit, you give life to all things and make them holy, and you never cease
to gather a people to yourself, so that from the rising of the sun to its setting a
pure sacrifice may be offered to your name.
CC:
11
In a similar way, when supper was ended, he took the chalice, and,
giving you thanks, he said the blessing, and gave the chalice to his
disciples, saying: Take this, all of you, and drink from it, for this is the
chalice of my Blood, the Blood of the new and eternal covenant, which
will be poured out for you and for many for the forgiveness of sins. Do
this in memory of me.

Choir: Proclamation
He is Lord (x2)
He is risen from the death
And He is Lord
Every knee shall bow
Every tongue confess
That Jesus Christ is Lord!
CC: Therefore, O Lord, as we celebrate the memorial of the saving Passion of your
Son, his wondrous Resurrection and Ascension into heaven, and as we look
forward to his second coming, we offer you in thanksgiving this holy and living
sacrifice. Look, we pray, upon the oblation of your Church and, recognizing the
sacrificial Victim by whose death you willed to reconcile us to yourself, grant
that we, who are nourished by the Body and Blood of your Son and filled with
his Holy Spirit, may become one body, one spirit in Christ.
C1.
May he make of us an eternal offering to you, so that we may obtain an
inheritance with your elect, especially with the most Blessed Virgin Mary,
Mother of God, St. Joseph her dear husband, with your blessed Apostles and
glorious Martyrs (with and with all the Saints, on whose constant intercession
in your presence we rely for unfailing help.
C2.
May this Sacrifice of our reconciliation, we pray, O Lord, advance the peace
and salvation of all the world. Be pleased to confirm in faith and charity your
pilgrim Church on earth, with your servant Francis our Pope and Anil our
Bishop, the Order of Bishops, all the clergy, and the entire people you have
gained for your own. Listen graciously to the prayers of this family, whom you
have summoned before you: Strengthen, we pray, in the grace of Marriage
Aman and Tessie, whom you have brought happily to their wedding day, that
under your protection they may always be faithful in their lives to the
covenant they have sealed in your presence. In your compassion, O merciful
Father, gather to yourself all your children scattered throughout the world.
C3. To our departed brothers and sisters and to all who were pleasing to you at
their passing from this life, give kind admittance to your kingdom. There we
hope to enjoy for ever the fullness of your glory through Christ our Lord,
through whom you bestow on the world all that is good.
12
CC: Through him, and with him, and in him, O God, almighty Father, in the unity of
the Holy Spirit, all glory and honour is yours, for ever and ever.
ALL: Amen.
THE COMMUNION RITE:
ALL: Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy
will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and
forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and
lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
NUP TIAL BLESSING
C:
Dear brothers and sisters, let us humbly pray to the Lord that for Aman and
Tessie, now married in Christ, he may mercifully pour out the blessing of his
grace and make of one heart in love by the Sacrament of Christs Body and
Blood those he has joined by a holy covenant.
(And all pray in silence for a while. Then the Priest, with hands extended over the bride and
bridegroom, continues)
O God, who by your mighty power created all things out of nothing, and, when
you had set in place the beginnings of the universe, formed man and woman
in your own image, making the woman an inseparable helpmate to the man,
that they might no longer be two, but one flesh, and taught that what you
13
were pleased to make one must never be divided; O God, who consecrated the
bond of Marriage by so great a mystery that in the wedding covenant you
foreshadowed the Sacrament of Christ and his Church; O God, by whom
woman is joined to man and the companionship they had in the beginning is
endowed with the one blessing not forfeited by original sin nor washed away
by the flood.
Look now with favor on Aman and Tessie, joined together in Marriage, who ask
to be strengthened by your blessing. Send down on them the grace of the Holy
Spirit and pour your love into their hearts, that they may remain faithful in the
Marriage covenant. May the grace of love and peace abide in your daughter
Tessie, and let her always follow the example of those holy women whose
praises are sung in the Scriptures. May Aman entrust his heart to her, so that,
acknowledging her as his equal and his joint heir to the life of grace, he may
show her due honor and cherish her always with the love that Christ has for
his Church. And now, Lord, we implore you: may these your servants hold fast
to the faith and keep your commandments; made one in the flesh, may they
be blameless in all they do; and with the strength that comes from the Gospel,
may they bear true witness to Christ before all; may they be blessed with
children, and prove themselves virtuous parents, who live to see their
childrens children. And grant that, reaching at last together the fullness of
years for which they hope, they may come to the life of the blessed in the
Kingdom of Heaven. Through Christ our Lord.
ALL: Amen.
