The sidewinder shoe features the open cage Top-Flo valve*. The Top-Flo valves
combine a high flow area with temperature capabilities up to 400F. The open
cage design of the Top-Flo is optimized to allow for circulation of LCM materials
while keeping the overall length of the float equipment relatively short.
The Top-Flo is standard for sizes from 4-1/2 to 13-3/8 (casing weight of 11.6
ppf or lighter for 4-1/2). *Casing weights greater than 11.6 ppf for 4-1/2 sizes
will use the Top-Co Aluminum plunger valve. Ether valve is available in single or
double valve configurations.

BENEFITS
The filling action reduces casing running time and minimizes surge
pressures on formations. The valve is converted to a conventional
check valve by dropping a ball and pressuring up to release the upper
flapper. Until the conversion ball has been dropped, the casing can
be circulated at any time without affecting the fill-up operation.

Differential Valve Float Equipment
TYPE 535/536
Top-Co Type 535 differential collar and Type 536 differential shoe allow for automatic
filling and leveling of the fluid within the casing while it is being run in the hole. The
valve will open to allow the casing to fill to 80-90% before automatically shutting. The
operation of the valve is controlled by the differential pressure gradient between the
inside and outside of the casing.
The filling action reduces casing running time and minimizes surge pressures on
formations. The valve is converted to a conventional check valve by dropping a ball and
pressuring up to release the upper flapper. Until the conversion ball has been dropped,
the casing can be circulated at any time without affecting the fill-up operation.
Conversion pressure for the valve once the ball is dropped is 600 - 1000 psi.
The Top-Co Type 535 /536 Differential Fill float equipment is API II-B rated; 12 hours @
10 bpm flow test, 3000 psi back pressure.

Primary Application
Top-Cos Type 928 EZ REAM Float Shoe is a heavy duty and a robust
shoe designed for casing and liner applications. This is the industrys
only steel reaming shoe that is PDC drillable. A durable tungsten
carbide and PDC cutting structure an industry exclusive allows for
reaming longer intervals through the most challenging hole sections,
even reaching total depth in a severely compromised borehole.
Performance Features
EZ REAM TECHNOLOGY
EZ REAM technology is drillable with a standard PDC or roller
cone in onshore and offshore applications. The unique,
patented profile combined with the material properties
facilitates faster drill-out than competitive designs.
With some reamer shoes, there is a risk of leaving an undrilled
portion of the nose down hole, which could damage the next
bit or BHA. The 928 EZ Ream Shoe, designed with a concave
profile drills out from centre to shoulder eliminating the risk of
leaving an undrilled portion in the hole.
This is the only casing/liner shoe to offer a secondary bypass
port, which allows normal circulation or cementing to continue
in the event of nozzle plugging.
The 360 gauge coverage offers added stability and improves
reaming efficiency. The tool is undersized to promote a smooth
transition of the liner through the predrilled hole.

TYPE 247/248 - Cementing Plugs - Non Rotating, Plastic Core
The Top-Co Type 247 Anti-Rotation Top Cementing Plugs and Type 248 AntiRotation Bottom Cementing Plugs are plastic cored cementing plugs with integral
teeth designed to prevent rotation of the plugs during drill out operations. The
plugs use plastic (Phenolic) teeth that are reinforced with fiber material to prevent
tooth breakage when landing the cementing plugs. The plugs can be drilled with
either conventional rotary drill bits or PDC (Polycrystalline Diamond Compact)
drill bits. Designed and tested to withstand 5,000* psi of differential pressure, the
plugs can be pumped onto the float equipment at pumping rates of 10 barrels per
minute. A reduction of up to 95% in drill out times can be expected when
compared to conventional plugs. The wiping and sealing fins are moulded from
Natural Rubber or Hydrogenated Nitrile (HNBR) rubber with the minimal
thickness of rubber designed to allow for proper wiping and sealing. The bottom
plug has a diaphragm rupture rating of 200-500 psi. The plugs are designed to fit
in conventional cementing heads and can be run with Top-Co Type 225/226 and
235/236 equipment.

RUNNING INSTRUCTIONS
1. Plug(s) should be inspected prior to loading into the cementing head. Should a
plug condition be unacceptable obtain a plug in usable condition and return the
plug deemed unusable to Top-Co for credit.
2. Identification of the bottom and top plugs needs to be ensured. Colour coding is
generally used to identify top and bottom plugs with the top plug being black and
the bottom plug being orange or red in colour. In addition to checking the colour,
markings and labels should be read to ensure proper identification. If still unsure
of the type of plug (label is not present) a bottom plug can also be identified by a
thin diaphragm located on the plug that is located in the hollow center section of
the plug. The top plug will either be solid or have a thick center section.
3. If a bottom cementing plug is being used, ensure it is placed in the cementing
head with double verification that it is the lower plug loaded into the cementing
head.
4. The bottom plug will normally be released prior to the pumping of the cement. If
a spacer is used between the bottom plug and the lead slurry, and the spacer
contains lost circulation materials do not stop pumping until all the cement has
been pumped and displaced. As the bottom plug is released ensure that it has left
the cementing head and has moved down the casing.
5. Pump cement. Once the tail slurry has been displaced release the top cementing
plug. Ensure the plug has been released from the head and the plug has moved
down the casing. Note: it will take 200-400psi to rupture the bottom plug
diaphragm. Cement lines should be pumped out placing a small amount of cement
behind and on top of the closing plug. This will enhance the ability to drill out the
plugs.
6. As the top plug approaches the bottom plug (or float collar) slow the pump rate to
.8 cu. meter / 5 barrels per minute for casing size 10 /173mm and higher, and
to .4 cu. meter / 2.5 barrels per minute for casing size 9 5/8 and smaller. Monitor
pressure and check for bumping of the plug.
7. Once the top plug has bumped, check for flow back by recording the amount of
fluid bled back to the pumping unit. If flow back occurs solids may be caught in

the valve(s), preventing positive sealing. Allow fluid volume equal to one meter /
3 feet of casing volume to flow back then apply pressure again and re-bump the
plug. Re-bumping the plug will allow flushing of the valve to move the solids and
allow the valves to reseat.
Note: A reading of pressure over and above the displacement pressure required to
land the plug may not be an indication that the valves are not holding. If the
pressure reading remains higher than displacement pressure air entrapment in the
displacement fluid may have occurred. Should this condition exist, hold pressure for
several minutes and allow the air to migrate to the top of the fluid column, release
pressure and check if the valves are holding.

TYPE 252/253 - Cementing Plugs, Plastic Core
The Top-Co Type 252 Top Cementing Plugs and Type 253 Bottom Cementing
Plugs are plastic cored cementing plugs designed to be drilled out with PDC
(Polycrystalline Diamond Compact) drill bits. The plugs are built using plastic
cores to which an outside layer of rubber is moulded. The plastic cores are
manufactured from phenolic plastic, which has over 30,000 of psi compressive
strength. The wiping and sealing fins are moulded from Natural Rubber or
Hydrogenated Nitrile (HNBR) with the minimal thickness of rubber designed to
allow for proper wiping and sealing. The plug set is designed and tested to
withstand 5,000 psi differential pressure. The bottom plug has a diaphragm
rupture rating of 200-500 psi. The plug sets are also designed and tested to allow
them to be pumped onto the float equipment at rates of up to 10 barrels per
minute. A reduction of up to 90% in drillout times can be expected when
compared to drillout times for conventional aluminum cored rubber plugs. Typical
drill out times for a set of top and bottom plugs is size 7 is 4 to 6 minutes, 9 5/8
5 to 10 minutes and 13 3/8 7 to 15 minutes. The plugs are designed to fit in

TYPE 717/718 - Cementing Plugs - Non Rotating, Plastic Core
The Top-Co Type 717 Anti-Rotation Top Cementing Plugs and Type 718 AntiRotation Bottom Cementing Plugs are plastic cored cementing plugs with integral
teeth designed to prevent rotation of the plugs during drill out operations. These
plugs are specifically designed for tapered string applications where it is required
to wipe more than one size of casing. The plugs use plastic (Phenolic) teeth that
are reinforced with fiber material to prevent tooth breakage when landing the
cementing plugs. The plugs can be drilled with either conventional rotary drill bits
or PDC (Polycrystalline Diamond Compact) drill bits. Designed and tested to
withstand 5,000 psi of differential pressure, the plugs can be pumped onto the
float equipment at pumping rates of 10 barrels per minute. The wiping and
sealing fins are moulded from Natural Rubber or Hydrogenated Nitrile (HNBR)
rubber with the minimal thickness of rubber designed to allow for proper wiping
and sealing. The bottom plug has a diaphragm rupture rating of 200-500 psi. The
plugs are designed to fit in conventional cementing heads and can be run with
Top-Co Type 225/226 and 525/526 equipment.

Type 650 Stage Collar (Hydraulic/Mechanical)
Type 650 Stage Cementing Collar has been designed for stage cementing
applications where the operator wants flexibility to open the stage collar either
hydraulically or mechanically. The design features two internal sleeves that shift
during the stage cementing operations. The bottom sleeve can be shifted open
through the use of hydraulic pressure or by dropping an opening dart and
allowing it to gravitate to the opening seat. The stage collar can be field set to
open hydraulically at different opening pressures. This is achieved through the
addition or removal of the shear screws from the stage cementing tool. The
changing of the opening pressure does affect the force required to open the
stage collar mechanically if an opening bomb is subsequently used. Closing of
the stage cementing collar is affected through the pumping of a closing plug
behind second stage cement and applying pressure upon completing
displacement. Type 650 stage cementing collar can be ordered for applications
for two or three stage cement jobs. Type 650 can also be used in liner
applications when the closing plug has been adapted to fit the closing seat in the
stage collar.

Type 651 Stage Collar (Mechanical)
Type 651 Stage Cementing Collar has been designed for stage cementing
applications where the requirements dictate, or it is preferred that the tool be
opened mechanically. The design features two internal sleeves that shift during
the stage cementing operations. The bottom sleeve is shifted open by dropping
an opening dart and allowing it to gravitate to the opening seat. Closing of the
stage cementing collar is affected through the pumping of a closing plug behind
second stage cement and applying pressure upon completing displacement.
Type 651 stage cementing collar can be ordered for applications in two or three
stage cement jobs. Type 651 can also be used in liner applications when the
closing plug has been adapted to fit the closing seat in the stage collar.

Applications
Top-Co Type 200 Thread Lok can be used for bonding most
threaded substrates, inclusive of all metals, wood, composites,
rubber to metal, and rubber to cement, rubber to wood, and
rubber to composites. Type 200 Thread Lok can also be used as
adhesive metal filler.
Guidelines
Ensure that surfaces to be bonded are clean, dry and free from
oils, greases, and thread compounds. Paste and hardener should
be kept at room temperature and out of direct exposure to
sunlight/heat prior to and after mixing. Add the complete contents
of the bottle of hardener to the can of paste. The system must be
mixed thoroughly. Pot life is 20+ minutes at room temperature,
with time decreasing as the ambient temperature is increased. The
Top-Co Type 200 is exothermic, meaning it generates its own heat
through chemical reaction. The addition of temperature greatly
reduces the pot life and curing time.

SECTION G
CENTRALIZERS
Centralizers provide uniform annular clearance and reduce friction
while running casing. Top-Co API centralizers meet or exceed API
Specification 10D, meeting starting, running and restoring force
criteria.
Non-API centralizers were developed for unique well conditions
or where hole conditions do not allow API centralizers to be run.
Tight restrictions in well design may require use of positive rigid
centralizer design.
Hinged centralizers offer easy installation around casing coupling
or stop collar. Slip-on centralizers, a stronger design, are utilized
in close tolerance applications and cannot be run over couplings
or stop collars. They must be installed with set screws or between
stop collars. Slip-on centralizers are suitable for pipe reciprocation
requirements.
Bow Spring Centralizers feature the following benefits:
SPECIAL APPLICATION
CENTRALIZERS
Top-Co provides centralizers for many applications.
Special applications include:
Casing
Centralizer Spacing
Hole
Minimum Standoff
Sag Point
STOP COLLARS
Stop Collars are used as an integral accessory to keep
centralizers and other casing attachments in place on
the casing string. The collar design should allow casing
rotation with no or limited protrusions that could hang up
on a centralizer blade. A stop collar should always have a
stronger holding force than starting force and is built to API
recommended practice 10D2.
PROPER CENTRALIZER
SELECTION
Successful casing and proper placement of casing centralizers
are necessary in obtaining a quality primary cement job. Proper
selection is the key and Top-Cos spacing program can be run to
ensure efficient casing stand-off, torque and drag. It calculates the
minimum number of centralizers and determines optimum placement.
Rev.1 February 1, 2010
RECOMMENDED OPERATING
AND INSTALLATION PROCEDURES
Proper installation of casing attachments ensure minimal or
no damage is incurred while running casing to total depth. All
centralizers are designed to be either slipped onto or hinged
over the casing or coupling.

Heavy Duty Stand-Off Band
TYPE 341
The Type 341 Heavy Duty Stand-Off Band is designed for severe loading
conditions where positive stand-off of the casing is desired.
The stand-off band is of welded construction and features solid steel vanes
rather than formed vanes as used on the type 340 stand-off band.
At 5.0 long, The Type 341 can be ordered in Left Hand & Right Hand
construction and in a variety of Outside Diameters.
The Left & Right hand vanes are set at a 45 angle which has been shown to
offer the best wellbore turbulation available.
Integral set screws are located on these units to allow the Type 341 stand-off
bands to be attached to the casing without the use of stop collars.
These units are not recommended for applications in unconsolidated formations
as the leading edge of the vane may dig into the formation and prevent the
casing from being run to depth.

TOP-CO
Polymer Stand-Off Band
TYPE 346 Top-Reach
T346 Straight / Left / Right
The Type 346 Top Reach Centralizer is molded from a composite polymer
material. These centralizers are 10.0 long, and feature straight or spiral vanes.
The main advantage of this centralizer is the coefficient of friction which is 30%
less than Aluminum (0.36 vs. 0.52 for Aluminum). The fins feature a shallow 20
chamfer on the tip to reduce friction and improved ease of running into the hole.
Slip-on centralizer provides for direct installation over the casing and can be used
with compatible stop collars like the Top-Co Type 405, 410, 415 or 416.
