1.1 Title of the Study: Use of MIS (Management Information System) at Meena Bazar
1.2 Profile of the Organization:

Started in October 2002


Meena Bazar is one of the largest retail supermarket chain in Bangladesh with
International standards, opened in 2002 and operates in Dhaka, Chittagong &
Khulna division. Meena Bazar outlets are carrying almost 8,000-10,000 products
for sale & providing convenient shopping experience, easy parking and friendly
customer service for its customers. Meena Bazar is a concern of Gemcon Group,
producing organic products, dairy items, prepared food & herbal products. Meena
Bazar is not only catering such items to its shoppers, but also educating them
about their benefits.

Meena Bazar serves the need of consumer and business in growth segments
profitably by providing :
- Quality Products and Service to our Customer.
- A satisfying work environment to our staff.
- Fair,Respectful and Consistent working relations to our suppliers and channel
partners.
-Profitable and responsible growth to our shareholders.

1.3 Rationale of the study:

Recently Meena Bazar has launched so many internet based technology for
spreading their business.so we can get a lot of information about how they
manage the technology. Is there any problem during operating the technology or
not.
Moreover we can understand how the organization run its business with the help
of MIS so that we can make our own business like this way or ever more
technologized.so this report has a great importance for our life.
This report will also contribute a huge on faculty of business administration.it is
due to the fact that the report will help to utilize and monitor the result of using
the technology so that new alternative solution will be discovered.

2. Statement of the Problems:

This report will be the positive impact of MIS (Management Information System)
by using technology for spreading the business of Meena Bazar. After our survey
we will give the result.

3. Scope and Delimitation of the Study:


Meena Bazar is the first retail supermarket in Bangladesh that is providing online
shopping through its website. Meena Bazar is firmly committed to the Bangladeshi
customers to deliver the best available products
Meena Bazar has 18 outlates all over Bangladesh. Dhanmondi 15, Dhanmondi 27,
Elephant Road, Asad Avenue, Ajimpur, Banani, Mogbazar, Shyamoli, Uttara (Sector 11),
Uttara (Sector 14), Uttara (Sector 6), Wari, Mohammodi Housing, Shantinagar,
Banasree, Pallabi, Chittagong, Khulna
There are some scopes for the super shop to extend, such as;

It is the only one organized super shop in the local market.

There is more demand for such business in the local market.

It can retail the quality products at the most lowest price in the market.

There is a chance to develop more outlets throughout the city. That is because;
Demand to super shop is being increased day by day in the city.

Almost all local and some forgain organiztions are directly or indirectly involbed with
Meena Bazar to sell there goodes through them.

4. Objectives of the Study:


Management information system, or MIS, broadly refers to a computer-based system
that provides managers with the tools to organize, evaluate and efficiently manage
departments within an organization. In this report we see that MEENA BAZAR works
their process with the help of MIS.

General Objective:

From this report we can know that how MIS involve in a business & how it will
work.
To prepare this we can also learn that how Meena Bazar such a big super shop
controls everything through computer base system.

Specific Objectives:

The specific purpose for preparing this report is to develop our knowledge about
Management information system.

5. Methodology of the study:

The study is the based on the quantitative survey with the method of questionnaire
among 20 employees and customers of Meena Bazar in Banani branch. The type of
the survey will be open-ended questions which will consist 10 questions. The employee
and customers will be asked to answer the questions by their own words. Another type
of method of the survey will face-to-face communication to know the inner problems
or benefits of their programs. Moreover there will be 10 minutes group discussion
between 4 or 5 employees as well as customers.
