Secondary School Cast and Crew Agreement

The Play Date

Drama productions are always a fantastic experience for students to learn new
skills and develop new friendships, while nurturing the individual talents of
children. A successful production requires hard work, commitment and discipline
as well as following certain expectations. The following explains the expectations
for ALL cast and crew members of Secondary School productions. You and your
parents must read this document fully and bring a signed copy to the audition if
you wish to be a part of the show:

After auditions roles will be given to students at the discretion of Mr

Director and any co-directors, based on what they believe suits the
production best. All decisions are final. No discussions will be
entered into. Do not audition unless you are happy to accept ANY role,
whether big or small.

The dates for the performance are date, date, date and date.
Students must be available for these dates. There will be an all-day
technical and dress rehearsal on date which is COMPULSORY.

During the summer term rehearsals will run date afternoons from
time. Students must attend each rehearsal, and be on time.
(Exceptions will be made for the students taking GCSE and A Level
exams). In September a rehearsal schedule will be given to students.
There will be at least 3 rehearsals a week (after school or lunchtimes)
and students must be prepared to attend ALL rehearsals. Committing
to a production fully is important. Students who decide to pull out
during the rehearsal stage let down the whole cast and jeopardise their
inclusion in any future productions.

During Activities Week in June there will be a 3 or 4 day intensive

production rehearsal activity and cast members will be expected to
participate. (Exceptions will be made for students in Year 11).

Respectful behaviour is expected of all students and staff at all times.

Rehearsal spaces must be left clean and safe at all times. NO FOOD
ALLOWED unless the directors have indicated otherwise.

The cast is expected to remain in the designated rehearsal spaces at

ALL times unless given permission to leave by the directors.

Silly behaviour of any kind will not be permitted. The cast is

encouraged to bring quiet activities, homework, books etc. to keep
them occupied when it is not their turn to rehearse.

Accidents and/or injuries must be reported to the directors

immediately.

Appropriate clothing should be worn at all times (drama blacks or cast

t-shirts and other loose trousers are advisable, girls must not be in
skirts).

Only 3 absences will be allowed for this production of the play. If

more than 3 rehearsals are missed you will be excused from the show.
All students will receive a script of the play. Students will be expected
to bring this to every rehearsal. If they lose it they will need to pay for
another copy (6.99).
Students may not bring cameras or mobile phones to rehearsals. Any
photos, or rehearsal information and activities are to be kept off the
Internet and online sites such as MySpace, Facebook and Instagram
etc. for reasons of privacy.
Whilst all due care and attention will be taken during all rehearsals,
the school shall not be held responsible or liable for any accidents or
injuries sustained while rehearsing for, or performing in the play.
The directors reserve the right to automatically release the cast or crew member
at any time for behaviour deemed inappropriate, harmful, and/or dangerous to
other cast and crew.
