Description: Advertisement to promote a fundraiser for the American
Breast Cancer Foundation.
Process: (Programs, Tools, Skills, FOCUS principles): I found the original
image on National Parks magazine. Once I scanned my image I uploaded my file into Word Document. From there, I eliminating all unwanted
text by using my magic color wand to get the exact color I needed for my
background. From there, I used shapes and colors to unify the event ad.
Message: To help raise money to the Cancer Foundation by camping overnight in Eagle Park Campground.
Audience: Families and anyone living in the Rexburg area.
Color scheme and color names: Tetradic color scheme. Colors orange,
blue, lime and violet.
Top Thing Learned: While working on this specific ad, I learned to use my
white space carefully. I had a difficult time deciding where to place my
title so getting another person to look at your work is very helpful. Lastly, I
learned not to be afraid of using more than 2 colors.

MONTAGE
Description: Spiritual representation of a montage.
Process: (Programs, Tools, Skills, Steps taken while designing): I first
looked at LDS quotes that inspired me. After deciding on a quote, I
thought about a river with a nice landscape. Once looking at 20-30
images I selected my background from google images. I then found
my figure on google images and started blending both images together with my masking tool in Photoshop.
Message: Were all sinners trying to be perfected through Christ every day of our lives.
Audience: Young adults in the LDS church.
Top Thing Learned: One of things I learned about this project is focusing on my audience. I made many changes from my last draft to
make sure my message is coming across.
Filter / Colorization used and where it was applied: I added less
saturation and contrast in the background so the colors will not appear as vibrant.
Color scheme and color names: Split complimentary (red, green and
teal)

FLIER
Description: Black & White flier to promote graduate students for a leadership conference.
Process: Before using Adobe InDesign, I used sketches to brainstorm
ideas. I then used my sketches to create a layout for the flier on InDesign. For the layout I was given an image, logo, and content. I then used
different typography to separate the title with the body text. At last, I used
black horizontal lines to give repetition to the design of the flier.
Message: I want target recent graduates who will benefit from this leadership conference.
Audience: Recent graduates who are interested in learning new skills.
Top thing learned: I learned the importance of alignment and repetition.

BORCHURE
Description: A two sided (duplex) folding brochure.
Process: (Programs, Tools, Skills): I used different programs on my brochure but
to start off with, I used InDesign. Before I began using any programs, I research
ideas on what I wanted my brochure to be on. Finally, I decided to showcase
my design for a growing community in Chicago. I sketched out my logo and
organized my ideas on what and where it was going to be displayed on the
brochure. I brought my ideas into InDesign after I had laid out my dimensions.
From there, I used Photoshop to make any color corrections on my images to
import them later into InDesign. Finally, I inserted my body copy including my
text wrap in the design. Before printing off my final, I used my black and white
printer to test my dimensions. Once completed, I folded my brochure into
thirds.
Message: Inform anyone traveling to the city including locals about the Pilsen
heritage and culture.
Audience: Chicagoans and newcomers
Top Thing Learned: My favorite skill learned was the text wrap technique.

CARD
Description: Created a business card for the RS digital video production company accompanied with a letter head.
Process: (Programs, Tools, Skills): I worked with Adobe Illustrator and Indesign
to create my logos. When first creating my design, I played with my different font choices. Looking online is also a helpful tool to get inspired by other
designers. Before actually working on the programs, I sketched a few ideas on
paper to began creating my business card. I selected a simple font choice so it
can be easy to read and picked an olive green as my color choice. I then used
my sphere shape to create dots on the side of the companys name. I really like
the symmetry to the design and so I decided to add the green box to bring out
more contrast to the name. I then incorporated the black horizontal lines into
my letterhead to unify my design.

have a professional look.

WEB DESIGN
Description: A web page designed for Byline Bank
Process: (Programs, Tools, Skills): This process was designed using text wrangler with
html/css coding. I gathered the color coding information from Photoshop and added
the codes into css. As I was working specifically with html, I indented in the proper
format so it will be easier for me to adjust any changes needed in the future. Once satisfied with my design, I saved my changes and compressed all of my documents into
one folder. I then took a screenshot of my final product and uploaded it into Photoshop to adjust the size that was required for this assignment.
Message: To attract any potential Byline Bank employers.
Audience: Anyone who is interested in learning about the company or interested in
opening an account with them.
Top Thing Learned: The difference between html and css coding.
