LOGOS

Program(s)/Tools:
Adobe Illustrator

Objectives:

Create a variety of logos to fit a

company or personal image.
Use the basic tools of Illustrator.

Process:

I drew 30 sketches just to get ideas

and out find the variation that I
wanted. Then I got on illustrator and
used the pen tool to sketch them out.
I used the pen tool to sketch post
the Tetons. I went with a very simple
drawing of them. I played around
with white caps on the mountain
but I liked this one the best. I took
a vote on which logo looked best.
After I decided on a final logo I made
three different variations of the logo.
I used the duke font, which is bold
to make the name of the shop stand
out.

Imaging
Description:

A personally taken photograph that has

been edited/formatted using Photoshop.

Date:

October 18, 2015

Course/Instructor:
Comm 130 Section 03
Ben Pingel

Program(s)/Tools:
Nikon D5100 Camera
Adobe Photoshop

Objectives:

Learn basic photography skills.

Use a digital camera to take a quality
image, then download it.
Size and crop the image.
Adjust image brightness, contrast, hue
and saturation levels.
Use a selection tool to isolate a portion
of the image.
De saturate the selected portion of the
image.
Use a filter or colorize a portion of the
image.

Process:

First I chose the blue and gold color

scheme Then I went out and took a
picture at one of the Egin lakes with
my Nikon d5100. First focused my
camera on the blue sky and then took
the picture. Then I used Photoshop to
adjust the levels, shapes, saturation and
color balance. I used a gold color for
the text and added a blue gradient box
behind the text. Then I used the eclipse
tool to make the color swatches in the
bottom right corner. To be honest it
was kind of hard for me to find a way to
incorporate the blue.

Web Page
Description:

A web page designed to showcase a

personally created logo.

Date:

November 22, 2015

Course/Instructor:
Comm 130 Section 03
Ben Pingel

Program(s)/Tools:
TextWrangler
Adobe Photoshop

Objectives:

Size and optimize an original logo as a

.png for a web page.
Write content to describe the process
of creating your logo and how it
appeals to a target audience.
Design a web page using HTML to
display a logo and content.
Acquire a working knowledge of HTML
and basic understanding of CSS.
Identify hex colors for web design.
Compress multiple files in a zipped
folder to attach as one file.

Process:

I created this web page using only

TextWrangler. After I marked up all my
content and inserted my image, I attached
a pre-made CSS document to my HTML.
I then used the colors from my logo as
the colors for my web page. I found these
colors by opening Photoshop and using
the eyedropper tool. I also changed my
fonts to Times New Roman and Veranda.
I declared some backup fonts just in case
the viewers browser didnt have these
fonts. I also used padding around the logo
and text so that they would not be too
close to the edge of the web page. This
was one of the most challenging parts of
working with CSS.

8.511. I selected the Jesus and moved
him to the background image, then I
added a mask. With black paint and a
100% opacity, soft-edged brush, I painted
away the hard image edges. With a larger
black brush at 30% opacity and 30% flow,
I blended the image into the background.
Then I added the scripture D&C 87:7.
