P&C News
Well, 2015 has come and gone and the P&C would like to thank all the parents, family members and
friends of our wonderful children at Yakamia who have supported the Yakamia P&C in their
fundraising for the school in 2015.
This year, the Nature Play Committee has been very busy in finalising various available Grants and
holding events to raise the much needed funds to provide nature based play equipment throughout
the school. Some of the events held this year have been:
Sausage Sizzles;
In addition, our P&C have also held two whole school Discos, cake stalls at both the Faction
Carnival and the Interschool Carnival (where we also co-ordinated the lunches on the day for all
schools involved), Billy G Cookie Dough fundraiser and our very important Jogathon to fundraise for
the School.
In 2015, the P&C have committed to and provided the following for Yakamia Primary:
$15,000 - Blinds and Projector for the School Hall;
$8,000 for the School Chaplain, Stephen
Fisher, to continue at YPS for a 3rd day each
week in 2015;
$440 for the Soccer goals on the oval (half cost
with the Yakamia Junior Soccer Club);
$180 Raffle of 3 x $60 Voluntary
Contributions in Term 1;
$7,700 Stage 2 of the Early Childhood Nature
Based Play area Riverstone Creek
Construction;
$16,060 Stage 3 of the Early Childhood
Nature Based Play area Bike Track
Extension, Bridge, Play Shops;
$9,300 Final Stage of the Early Childhood
Nature Based Play Area Hardwood Log
Jumble & Gunyah; and
$16,400 Nature Based Play Area for Block 1
Adventure Trail.
That is a whopping $73,080 donated to
Yakamia Primary School, plus the P&C have
P&C Sundown at Three Anchors

P&C News
also already committed another $8,000 for the continuation of the School Chaplains 3rd day per week
in 2016.
As well, the Yakamia P&C run the School Canteen and employ wonderful staff, however in 2015 they
have struggled to find volunteer helpers. They desperately need volunteers for 2016!!!! Please
think about 2016 and whether you can volunteer an hour or two of a morning once a term why not
take a buddy with you!!
On behalf of the Yakamia P&C, we would like to thank all the Teachers and Staff for all their help
during the year, and would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a safe and Happy New
Year.
We look forward to seeing you in 2016.
Happy Holidays!
Jodie Wilkinson
Secretary
Yakamia P&C
From the President
A huge thank you to
Mothers Day High Tea
all the volunteers
who have helped make this year such a success.
Without your help we could not have achieved all that we did.
