Easter Lily Dedications

One of the special ways members of our church

family can enjoy the spirit and beauty of the Easter
season is to purchase a lily in honor or memory of
a loved one. If you would like to dedicate a lily to be
used in our sanctuary and chapel on Easter Sunday,
please complete the form online. A special bulletin
with a list of those being honored or remembered
will be available on Easter morning.

Children grades K-5 will participate in a church-wide

scavenger hunt during the Sunday School hour on
Easter. Children will begin in their regular Sunday School
room and then will follow clues to find out some
interesting things about our church. At each station
children will receive an Easter egg with a token to
remind them of what they have learned. Each group will
end up in the Atrium where they will hear the Easter
story told.
When you visit the coffee shop in March,
your tips will support the Mission of the
Month: Food Bank and Buddy Packs.
February tips total: $143.30 to the
Mozambique partnership.

The Pastors Corner

Opportunities This Lenten Season
By Rev. Molly Moore
season is a beautiful set-apart time for Christians
TtohelookLenten
inward and examine how they are living faithfully and
what they need to do to live more faithfully in relationship with
God. This Lent, we are focusing our congregational attention
on the topic of forgiveness. The six weeks of Lent are rich
with opportunity for us to dig deeper into forgiveness as we
daily journey closer to the cross where we are reminded of
our ultimate forgiveness through the death and resurrection of
Jesus Christ.
Hopefully, you have been able to join us for worship these
weeks as we explore Gods word for us on forgiveness in our
sermon series inspired by Joretta Marshalls book, How Can I
Forgive? Perhaps you have also been able to be a part of one of
the Sunday or midweek small groups studying the book. THIS
WEEKEND, March 14-15, the Joretta Marshall will be with us
at MUMC leading a Saturday morning retreat and preaching on
Sunday. The retreat, The Faithful Struggle to Forgive, is for men
and women who are seeking to know more about forgiving
themselves. Points that will be considered during this time
include:
What burdens and hurts are you holding onto?
What relationships have been broken because forgiveness
didnt enter in?
How are you limiting yourself and sabotaging your own
happiness because of blame/shame you yourself are
holding onto?

After Easter, dont miss

Joy & Jazz Sunday

with the Tim Whitmer Consort from Kansas City

April 12 @ 8:50 & 11 a.m. services

This is a set apart time for us to explore as a large group

and reflect personally on the process of forgiveness how
we go from hurt to being OK. It is a time of being reminded
that God is already at work in each of us, offering grace and
forgiveness, giving us the tools to forgive ourselves and to
embrace life more fully.
As we continue the Lenten journey towards forgiveness and
reconciliation with one another and with God, I invite you to
The Journey: A Good Friday Stations of the Cross Experience.
This experience will be one of prayerfully journeying through
the CLC while being led through a Stations of the Cross
reflection. The Journey will be open throughout the day on
Friday, April 3 from 11 a.m.-7 p.m., for people to come and go
as desired to experience Good Friday. This will be a multimedia experience where cellphones and tablets are welcomed
to enhance each of the stations.
We owe it to ourselves and to our loved ones to devote
ourselves to this hard work of exploring our hearts, our faith,
and our understanding of God this Lenten season. Whether
you are participating in select pieces or all of our Lenten
offerings (worship, small groups, the retreat, Maundy Thursday
worship at 6:30 p.m., or the Good Friday Stations of the Cross
experience), my prayer is that you receive Gods grace given to
you that you know you are loved, forgiven, and worthy, and
that you can go and share that same love and forgiveness with
others.
Thanks be to God.

Quarterly Statements

Its tradition to provide church members at the beginning

of April with a summary of their giving for the first quarter,
January through March.MUMC has moved recently to a new
online information system, Church Community Builder or CCB,
for storing member information including contributions. We
encourage everyone to visit moumc.ccbchurch.com where you
can access your giving record anytime. Come April 1st, we will
email you a reminder, much like your bank or credit card, letting
you know that your first quarter giving statement is ready for
viewing and providing a link through which you can access it.
Know that viewing your statement online saves us a considerable
amount on postage and processing, monies that can be used
instead for the churchs ministries. We understand that some
of us still prefer to receive a printed copy of our statement. To
receive yours by mail, please fill out your contact information
and check the Mail my giving statement box on the tear-off this
Sunday, or contact the church office. Thank you!
