Public Relations Assistant

Responsibilities: The Public Relations Assistant shall assist the Director of Public Relations
and maintain, update, as well as expand and develop new content for the
ASWSUV web site.

Duties: The Public Relations Assistant shall have and exercise the following
powers and duties:

A. Perform duties in accordance with the ASWSUV Constitution and By-laws.


B. Constantly maintain, update, and recreate the ASWSUV website including, but not
limited to:
1. Posting Senate meeting minutes once approved and communicated by the
Senate Secretary
2. Adding event flyers as communicated by the Public Relations Director
3. Providing updates on current ASWSUV projects as communicated by
each Executive member
4. Providing current bios for each ASWSUV member as communicated by
each member
C. Educate ASWSUV members about WSU’s electronic use policies.
D. Operate the overhead at Senate meetings.
E. Provide an oral and written report at each Senate meeting.
F. Attend all mandatory ASWSUV meetings including, but not limited to:
1. Retreats
2. Executive Team meetings
3. All-Student Government meetings
4. One-on-one meetings with the President
G. Perform any duties deemed necessary by the ASWSUV President and Director of
Public Relations.
Requirements: The Public Relations Assistant must be a member of ASWSUV and be
enrolled in at least six (6) credits per semester during the regular academic
year. He/she must be in good academic standing, maintaining no less than
a 2.0 GPA.

Desired Qualities: Self-motivated and goal-oriented


Strong communication skills
Web-design and development expertise
Computer operating systems and software skills
HTML editor and/or hand coding experience
FTP program knowledge

Work Conditions: Frequent interruptions, some noise, fast-paced

Term: The Public Relations Assistant shall hold office from commencement to
commencement or until their duly elected successors take office.

Salary: The Public Relations Assistant shall be paid twenty-five percent (25%) of
the ASWSUV President’s salary, thus four thousand dollars ($4000) for
the entire year.

Hours: The Public Relations Assistant shall contribute at least eight (8) posted
office hours each week to his/her duties until commencement. Posted
office hours must be held between the hours of 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM.
Workloads may require additional hours.
