The text is constructed through a series of stories embedded within other stories that
most often feature animal characters. Each story is accompanied by a commentary that
relates the teachings to other stories and wisdom sayings taken from the Vedic tradition
such as the Bhagavad-gita and Mahabharata.

THE AUTHOR
In 1988, GUY TÉTREAULT was entrusted with the position of managing director of BBT, the most
important publisher of Vedic literature in Europe, a post he occupied for eight years before
returning to a life of study. During his travels in India, he met the scholar, Dr. Satya Narayan Das,
founder of the Jiva Institute, who would become his tutor in the multiple branches of Vedic
knowledge. He thus systematically studied the greatest philosophical and spiritual works of this
tradition.
