About Us
After over a decade of building cages for personal use,
CagesByDesign.com was established in 1998 as a bird,
reptile, and small animal cage manufacturer. Shortly
after incorporation, we began a mission to develop the
ultimate small animal, reptile and bird cage systems.
With a factory direct sales philosophy we not only have
the ability to keep prices low, but gain feedback directly
from our customers as to what they are looking for in
their enclosures.

We wanted to create cages that are affordable, mobile,

light enough for the average person to be able to fit in
their home or office, durable enough for commercial use,
and attractive enough to be a museum quality display.
We have worked tirelessly to design, modify and
redesign our cage systems. We've spent thousands of
hours on our designs to ensure they have the proper
strength, durability, and functionality.

~ Expandable: Majestic bird cages can be expanded at a later date

(example above). This is essentially two enclosures connected
together in the middle which can be used as one big enclosure or
separated later and used as two separate enclosures.
~ Modular: Some enclosures require assembly, on average about an
hour per cage. Most hoods and stands come pre-assembled with the
exception of larger units. This modular system allows you to get any
size enclosure into your vehicle, through doorways, around corners,
and up stairs. You will not find fine furniture style cages with this level
of versatility anywhere else!
~ Two styles: Classic and Contemporary. Classic showcases raised
corners, intricate moldings, decorative accents, while Contemporary
cages have a more modern look with straighter molding and lines.

four stain colors shown above, or Hard Maple Wood
finished with Black or White paint. Please note that painted
colors will not show wood grain as much as the stain
choices. Other custom wood, stain, and paint combinations
as well as other wood types such as Cherry, Walnut, etc.
are available for an extra charge. Please call and we would

quote! Majestic colors CAN VARY SIGNIFICANTLY from colors shown in
the catalog or the web site due to printing variations, monitor settings, wood

Our pull out divider system can be attached to any of our new or
existing cages. The divider allows you to partition your cage for multiple
birds without having to purchase several cages. This is very useful for
breeders who may want to allow birds to have contact only during
certain times of year, or for people with birds who do not get along.
Prices (online) are for 1 x 1 stainless steel wire unless otherwise
specified. Other panel materials can be substituted, see website for
details. Track must be installed by customer at desired placement (all
hardware included) Notice: panels do not create a perfect seal
between divided sides. Regardless of material type there may be an
opening up to 1 between the partitioned sides to allow doors to slide
properly. For this reason this system is not intended to separate very
small birds.

Hoods and Stands
Any of our Hybrid cages can interlock
with a stand or hood using our
revolutionary corner and pin system.
They are the same basic construction
as a cage except they come with
laminate sides and doors rather than
acrylic or wire. If you order a wire top
with a cage and set the lights on top,
the hood will hide your fixtures and trap
heat inside the cage. A stand can
elevate your cage to eye level and add
storage space. The price for Hybrid
and Majestic hoods and stands are
shown in our package specials. For a full list, please visit our web
site. Please specify when ordering if you want a stand or hood. A
hood will come without a bottom and a stand will come without a top
unless otherwise requested. Adjustable shelves are available. Note:
A wire top for a cage should be ordered for a hood to be functional
for lighting and heating purposes. Cord holes available upon
request.
Adjustable Shelves for Stands

Any of our stands have the option of adjustable shelves. These
shelves are custom installed per order to fit the length of your stand
and are either 8 or 12 deep, depending on the depth of your stand.
Price is per foot of shelving. All hardware (adjustable uprights and
shelf brackets) with all holes pre-drilled and ready to install are
included with purchase of the first shelf. Multiply the length of your

Pull Out Tray System A - ABS Plastic

Our Pull Out Tray System A is made out of a one piece molded ABS
thermoformed plastic and have about a 1 1/2 depth. Molded tray
construction makes it easy to clean and requires almost no
assembly (which takes about 5 minutes). The only assembly
required for System A is snapping on the side tracks and center
connectors and screwing the legs onto the corners. System A is only
available in select sizes, see website for details. Pull out trays may
be used without a pull out floor, however we do not recommend
excessive weight for System A. Weight limitations vary depending
on size. Direct exposure to sunlight may also limit the life of your
tray, however new trays can be ordered. If you have a fair amount
of weight, are worried about very small animals escaping, or are
using the tray for prolonged exposure outdoors, we recommend
System B described below. Please call and a customer service
representative will help you decide which system is for you.

Pull Out Tray System B - Aluminum

Our Pull Out Tray System B is made out
of a very rigid aluminum frame as well as
a very high grade aluminum laminate
panel for the bottom. Assembly is
required. System B is intended for sizes
where System A is not available or for cages that will not have a pull
out floor, cages with more weight than System A, and cages that will
be outdoors. If you need help deciding, please call and a customer
service representative will help you decide which system is for you.
Pull Out Floor System

Our Pull Out Floor system (see photo above) can be attached to
any cage, large or small, to allow for easy cleaning. Just remove the
pull out floor and pull out tray and your enclosure instantly becomes
walk in friendly making it easier to clean the interior of your cage as
well as set up your cage furniture. Pull out floors come standard
with 3/4 x 3/4 stainless steel wire for H2 Hybrid cages and 1 x 1
stainless steel wire for H3 Hybrid cages. The opening size can be
substituted for either system, see website for details. Also the pull
out floor can be made with half wire and half laminate or
